"Oh, it's raining..let's stay another day!" - An August 2011 TR - *UPDATE: 9/15*

IMG_8224.jpg

IMG_8228.jpg

We heard some noises outside and realized that they were playing a movie in the courtyard outside of out room!
IMG_8234.jpg

I didn't watch it though..I just took a picture.
After I took that I went to bed, as did the rest of the family.
Tomorrow, we go to Magic Kingdom!
Sorry that this update wasn't the most exciting..tomorrow's will be better! :thumbsup2

Coming Up: Magic Kingdom!

You got a good deal on the wallet thing! Outlets are fun. I haven't been to any since I went on vacation in Lancaster years ago.
The builders have to be extremely patient! :lmao:
Love your update! I really feel like I'm there. :goodvibes I can't wait to stay in one of the mansions. I can pretend I'm staying at a nice, fancy deluxe!
But the rude people on the boat, that's no fun. :sad2:
Can't wait for your next update! :thumbsup2

POR looks so nice! I really hope to stay there on my next trip. POFQ is fine, but I just like that place better for some reason. The mansion there looks so pretty! :goodvibes And SSR doesn't look too bad either :D Sorry to hear about the rude people on the boat though :sad2:

Oh, those chocolates are so cool! I love the little sayings on them especially the Pinocchio one "Who needs a conscience when you have chocolate?" Oh yes! And the "Mine, mine, mine, mine..." one is pretty awesome too (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Yeah the deal was great on the wallet..the outlets are prety good!
Thank you! :goodvibes The mansions are so pretty, I looked at pictures of the inside online and they look almost like Grand FLoridian (of course not AS nice..but the coloring is the similar!)
Thanks for reading!! :)

POR is very nice..I like the look of it, but POFQ is smaller and that's what I love about it. On this trip we actually booked POR first and then changed it to POFQ.
The chocolates are very cool! I got the Pinocchio one and the Prince Charming one for one of my friends at home. I love Disney candy! :thumbsup2
Thank You!

I think you had a wonderful day. Nice and relaxing with a side of shopping. It doesn't get any better than that.

That's great that you decided to take a ride to POR. I love Riverside. Well - I love both the PO resorts. They are so pretty and relaxing.

Oh that's nice! :goodvibes We're planning on staying in one of the new Royal rooms next year - should be fun!
&You're welcome! :)

Btw: Is your area safe from Irene? I keep seeing this thing on tumblr saying we're all in the "extreme" zone. I hope it's nothing serious this weekend. :sad2:

I love the boat ride from Port Orleans to DTD. It's so beautiful. It does seem like there should be a better system than only filling the boat half full at the first stop.

How cool that they were playing a movie outside at the resort! I think it would be fun to sit outside at POFQ and watch Oliver and Company. That's what was playing, wasn't it?

Yeah it was a fun day! Both PO resorts are great..I would definitely stay again!
Thanks! :goodvibes

Yeah, I think we'll be alright..we don't have to evacuate or anything. Hopefully it's not too bad for either of us! :thumbsup2

Yeah I know..it could get confusing because the boats look empty.
And yes! The movie looked very cool..but I didn't go out because I had already showered and was in my pajamas. And I believe it was Oliver & Company playing!

Day 3 - Part 1

Okay, on to day 3!
Again on this day, I didn't bring my camera to breakfast, but I believe I got chocolate chip pancakes. They were delicious!
After breakfast we walked over to these funny alligator statues. See, this is funny (well not for me, but for the rest of my darling family it is) on our first trip back when I was 5 years old, we came to visit POFQ and we were looking around by the pool. I was all happy playing by the alligators until I got to one of them and my mom comes over and says 'Oh, what does this button do?' and she presses it! Before I know it this alligator is spraying water all over me!! And I think my mom has a picture of me all wet next to the alligator. Fun stuff..
Anywho, this time we took pictures with them without getting soaked.

DDad observing the picture taking:
IMG_1583.jpg

After this, we headed back to the room dropped off our mugs and went over to the bus stop so we could make Magic Kingdom rope drop!!
The bus arrived quickly:
IMG_1584.jpg

I think Magic Kingdom is the farthest park from POFQ, but it may be Animal Kingdom, not sure. But it isn't too far away, we arrived shortly.
IMG_1585.jpg

I like how they let you through the turnstiles right away here, so it's not like the park is open and your line's moving the slowest because some person can't figure out how to put their finger on the finger pad.
We got a spot pretty close to the entrance.
IMG_1586.jpg

IMG_8239.jpg

IMG_8240.jpg

DMom took this picture of us:
IMG_1591.jpg

Pretty soon they let us in after their little 'Good Morning' song & dance and train ride.
IMG_8249.jpg

IMG_8252.jpg

We headed right over to Big Thunder Mountain.
IMG_8254.jpg

DDad, DSis, & I all rode twice in a row. Once we got towards to middle of the train and the second time we got the very last row (my favorite)!
And the second time we rode DMom took pictures of us on the ride! There we are in the last row!!
IMG_8255.jpg

IMG_8256.jpg

IMG_8257.jpg

After we rode, we took some pictures around BTMRR:
IMG_8258.jpg

IMG_8259.jpg

IMG_8260.jpg

Then we heade dover to Fantasyland..look how empty it was! On this morning it was so empty, we hardly waited for anything!
IMG_8261.jpg

First we rode Peter Pan's Flight, we walked right on!!
IMG_8262.jpg

I took many pictures, but this one is the only one that came out kind of good:
IMG_8269.jpg

IMG_8270.jpg

Then DSis and I went over to ride Snow White's Scary Adventures & The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh while DMom and DDad went over to Tomorrowland to get fastpasses for Space Mountain and to ride Buzz Lightyear.
On the line for Snow White we saw these interesting shoes on another guest:
IMG_8274.jpg

We actually saw those a few times this trip!
Here are some pictures I took while waiting and during the ride:

IMG_8284.jpg

IMG_8293.jpg

After Snow White we checked out some of the stuff going on in the building of new Fantasyland..I can;t wait for it!
IMG_8295.jpg

IMG_8296.jpg

Then we went over to ride Winnie the Pooh. The new waiting area is very nice!
IMG_8297.jpg

IMG_8299.jpg

IMG_8303.jpg

I love the area of the waiting area that you can 'smear honey' all over..it's so much fun, haha.
IMG_8316.jpg

IMG_8318.jpg

IMG_8319.jpg

IMG_8320.jpg

After we got off the ride, it was still empty!!
IMG_8325.jpg

IMG_8337.jpg

Then we met back up with DMom & DDad and rode It's A Small World. I LOVE this ride, too bad DDad & DSis don't, oh well there's always two party poopers.
AND we got the FIRST ROW of the boat..how exciting, great for pictures!
So I took many, many pictures!
IMG_8345.jpg

IMG_8356.jpg

IMG_8369.jpg

IMG_8386.jpg

This is my favorite room in the ride:
IMG_8392.jpg

IMG_8394.jpg

The only two people representing America on the ride:
IMG_8396.jpg

Good-bye!
IMG_8401.jpg

As we were going down and up the ramps to exit, DSis joined another family! IDK why she was walking with someone else's family!?

Coming Up: More Magic Kingdom!

Oh the new Royal rooms look very nice!
Yeah, I think we'll be alright..we don't have to evacuate or anything. Hopefully it's not too bad for either of us! :thumbsup2

That's good! Hopefully it goes by quickly.

Always love an empty Magic Kingdom! The Peter Pan vehicles with nobody in them is great. :lmao:

Those shoes...:scared1: I've seen ads for them but I didn't know people actually wore them.

I took that SAME picture of Snow White! I think we had to be standing in the exact same spot because it looks so much alike. Great Winnie the Pooh pictures!

Can't wait for more!

LOL @ the alligator story! I can only imagine how funny that was, looking back on it now, but poor you had to be the person at the center of it all. At least you got some nice pictures with the alligators now, no squirting about it.

Oh wow, MK was really empty when you were there. Love the pictures of you guys on BTMRR! I rode that so many times during my first trip. And it's awesome you can get great pictures of the people on the ride from the exit :goodvibes

Oh wow, I'm in awe at how many rides you rode in just the morning at the park. The park also didn't seem very crowded. I think those shoes you saw while waiting in line are meant for running on the beach or something. I've seen them many times before, one time when we were at the running shoes store, so I guess they have a special purpose, but it beats me why they wore them at Disney :confused3

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I know! And at night you go back and Peter Pan has a 70 minute wait! :scared1:
I know, I've never seen those shoes before this trip!
I just saw your picture on your TR and it's very similar! That's so weird!
Thank you! :goodvibes

Yeah, I didnt realize how much you could see the ride from near the exit!
I love getting there at opening..you get to do so many rides in a short time! :thumbsup2
It was starnge seeing those shoes around Disney..& I saw them a few times!

------
I'll update later..if we still have power! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

The line for that ride is insane. :scared1: It'll be cool to see when they get the interactive queue though! One night we really lucked out with getting on that ride, that'll be coming up soon in the TR. :goodvibes
Did you lose power? We lost it for about a minute at 1:00am but that's it. There's a girl who lives around the block from me and on facebook she said she lost her power but we still have ours. :confused3 It's just very windy!

At rope drop is pretty much the only time we ever do Fantasyland. We hit Dumbo, then go walk on Peter Pan, very often getting off and getting right back on. Then we'll do Pooh and Snow White, Carrousel and Teacups. We save Philharmagic for the heat of the day. Small World is last, and then we're off to Haunted Mansion by the time the crowd is building up. That will all change when the new stuff opens, of course.

I know! I can't imagine waiting so long for that ride!
Yeah we lost power a couple times in the middle of the night, but each time was only for a couple seconds. And I think some people in my town are without power, but it wasn't too bad. :goodvibes Yes, it's just very windy and some trees and stuff are down.

Doing things at rope drop is really the only way I like doing anything at WDW! And we never do Philharmagic in the mornign either..it's never too corwded!
When the new stuff opens Fantasyland will be crazy! Maybe Splash Mountain and stuff won't be too crowded then..I doubt it, but it would be nice! :thumbsup2

Day 3 - Part 2

I last left off with DSis joing up with another family. After that, we headed over to Haunted Mansion.
Img_8409.jpg

Img_8410.jpg

Img_8411.jpg

I volunteered to not sit with DSis because whenever she gets scard (& yes I'm pretty sure she;s still scared of this ride) she talks endlessly, throughout the whole ride. "This is fake" "oh look, that doesn't look real at all!" So, I sat with DMom and actually got to hear the ride this year!
Img_8413.jpg

After this ride we headed over to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain fastpasses. And i think I forgot to mention that when we were riding Big Thunder Mountain earlir, DMom got fastpasses for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain that DSis & I could use later that night! Here's a look at DMom holding all the fastpasses we accumulated this morning:
Img_8414.jpg

Fantasyland was getting a little more crowded:
Img_8415.jpg

Tomorrowland wasn't too bad, though!
Img_8416.jpg

DSis and I rode twice with fastpasses because DParents don't ride so we used their fastpasses! After our two rides, we met back up with DMom & DDad. DMom insisted that we get our picture with this metal palm tree. This thing radiated so much heat!
Img_8417.jpg

Then we wanted to head over to Liberty Square for some lunch at Columbia Harbor House! But not without taking a few pictures on the way!
Img_8430.jpg

Haha, I think the sun was in DSis' eyes!
Img_8431.jpg

Img_8432.jpg

Columbia Harbor House wasn't very crowded..downstairs was a little bit, but not the updatairs!
Img_8436.jpg

I love how you can see Fantasyland out the windows!
Img_8437.jpg

My food!
Img_8442.jpg

Img_8441.jpg

The rest of the family got Tuna Sandwhiches.
CHH is my favorite quick service at Magic Kingdom, it's good food with a quiet atmosphere unlike Cosmic Rays.
After lunch, we went over to Hall of Presidents because it was right near CHH.
Img_8443.jpg

I am not one of 'those' that just go there to nap. I pay close attention and I feel some changes should be made. For example, in the movie, the don't show ALL of the presidnets! Disney is just showing the 'popular' presidents. What about good ole Woodrow Wilson who brought us through World War I? Or James Madison and his accomplishments in the War of 1812? Hmm, I should be an Imagineer. Kids watching the show are getting the wrong idea about the presidents!
Moving right along.....here are some pictures I snapped before and at the show:
Img_8444.jpg

Teddy Roosevelt's wife's dress:
Img_8445.jpg

Monroe's wife's dress:
Img_8446.jpg

Img_8447.jpg

Img_8453.jpg

Img_8456.jpg

Img_8458.jpg

When we got out of the show, DMom spotted a sled across the way..she wanted mine & DSis' picture in it. This must be the day of extremely hot picture spots because this, like the palm tree, radiated loads of heat!
Img_8462.jpg

After that, we went to Sleepy Hollow, I wanted to get one of those slushes that mix the red & blue flavors, but they were all out so I got plain ice cream like the rest of the family. AND they told me it was soft serve, but it wasn't. Oh well!

continued in next post

When we went back over to Main Street, the Move It Shake It Celebrate It parade was going on, which draws in many crowds!
Img_8463.jpg

We were going over to Tomorrowland to use Buzz Lightyear fastpasses that DMom & DDad got while we were riding Space Mountain.
On our way we saw Mickey & Minnie topiaries:
Img_8465.jpg

And a duck in the water!
Img_8464.jpg

I rode Buzz Lightyear with DDad..I'm not very good at this game, too bad they don't measure accuracy like TSMM!
My score:
Img_8466.jpg

DDad's score:
Img_8467.jpg

Quite a difference in scores!!
After that ride we went to Main Street to look in some of the shops over there. Surprisingly I only took one picture!!
Img_8468.jpg

As we were heading out of the park we saw Snow White with very little line!
Img_8469.jpg

After meeting her, we went to the bus stops to get a bus back to POFQ. We really didn't wait very long for a bus, the buses are great at this resort!
We got back quickly and I'm posting this picture to show DSis' bad habit of walking in front of people while they're taking pictures..and she doesn't even know she's doing it!!
Img_8470.jpg
