These people need to get a life.

And Tango Makes Three

Yeah, I'm sure every 5 year old that read that book had the same thoughts as these so called adults. Unbelievable.

Parents complain over penguin book

Items compiled from Tribune news services
Published March 5, 2006

SAVANNAH, MISSOURI -- A children's book about two male penguins that raise a baby penguin has been moved to the non-fiction section of two library branches after two parents complained it had homosexual undertones.

The illustrated book, "And Tango Makes Three," is based on a true story of two male penguins, named Roy and Silo, who adopted an abandoned egg at New York City's Central Park Zoo in the late 1990s.

The book was moved from the children's section at Rolling Hills' Consolidated Library's branches in Savannah and St. Joseph. Rolling Hills director Barbara Read said moving the book would decrease the chance it would "blindside" readers.

Oh, for Pete's sake. Who in their right minds are threatened by loving, gay penguin parents? :rolleyes2

Ah, it sounds like a really cute book! I wonder if the other penguins had a problem with it?

:confused3 This is what the world is coming to. So sad

If I roll my eyes any harder they are going to fly out the back of my head.

Many of the people who claim to be opposed to homosexuality are just fascinated by it. They see homosexuals everywhere, from cartoons to the penguin population. I think that they secretly enjoying talking about sex and sexuality and that is what sparks their active imaginations.

ITA! ABSOLUTELY STUPID!!! (CAPS left on purpose)

I think it sad that they have the time and energy to spend trying to ban a book about penguins. I wish I had that kind of energy, of course I wouldn't be trying to ban books, just wish I had the energy!

Maybe it isn't fiction! Maybe there were two male penguins

And where is the Tag Fairy for that one??? :rotfl2:

simply put.....foolish...................i find it foolish to ban any books period!!

To be fair, it doesn't say they want it banned. They just wanted it moved out of the children's section. Dumb still, but at least they're not burning anything.
