offsiters buses still going to OKW and SSR

Ugh, I have seen people on here telling others to use the SSR buses to go to DTD to connect to this or that so many times I could probably pay my annual dues if I had a quarter for each time :rotfl: ! I don't have issue with anyone using the buses if they have legit business anywhere, but it does really bother me when people use DTD for FREE parking and then walk over to SSR, hop on one of the park buses that is most likely going to be packed full enough, go to the park, have their fun and be $12 richer than the honest person who chose to buy the same hopper pass, park their car in the MK lot, use the monorail the same day to visit EPCOT, then use the AKV bus to eat at Boma before heading back to MK and going to their off site condo - which was all done in an honest and legitimate manner since that person was using the transportation for the proper purposes. At least that's how I understand the system to work. Maybe I'm wrong though. To solve the problem, DTD parking should just be a flat rate unless a guest is staying on site or an annual pass holder. Or resort buses should require KTTW for entry (although that causes issues for off siters with resort ressies but I suppose one could carry a ressie print out with date and time too, huh?!)

I like this thought and can add to it. Put a fee on parking at DTD for those without a KTTW card and then add busses from DTD to the parks. This would not hurt the resort guest as they have the ability to go directly from their resort but would take a step away from the process if they wanted to head to DTD from the parks for a lunch ressie or just a break. Its a pain to get to DTD from the parks as it is now. Heck I'd go just for the margarita bar! The only loser in this may be the shops because it would probably limit off-site users from shopping but they could implement some sort of system where if you purchase a certain amount your parking would be reimbursed. I think this would solve a couple of issues, parking in the lots, abuse of resort busses, and convenience from DTD to the parks. Just my opinion.

It doesn't make sense that transportation wouldn't be included, because many people leave the parks to have lunch or dinner at one of the resorts & then return to the park. I would think WDW would lose money if they restricted park guests from utilizing the monorail, boats or buses. :confused3

Excellent points & I didn't realize Disneyland had that parking restriction for DTD. Thank you for the link! :thumbsup2
Also at DLR, you park in a huge parking structure, and pay the fee, unless you get it free with a premium AP. DTD parking is next to that huge parking structure, and you have to walk further to get to the parks, no tram, by parking there. It wouldn't make any sense to park at DTD if you are going to the parks.

I guess people here either have missed this or have forgotten about it. I know there have already been discussions about the transportation being included with park admission, but this is specifically pointed out on the magical express busses as you are riding to the property.

They state that the Disney transportation is included at no cost with your park admission. They don't say, only busses from point A to point B, but "Disney Transporation".

Just to clarify my position, I don't necessarily agree with people parking for free at DTD and using the bus system to get to the parks. All they would need to do is use the same park pass hanger if you have already paid at a park to let you park at DTD or again the annual pass or KTTW.

We are annual pass holders so its never been an issue, but I just thought I would point out that Disney DOES push their transportation system (for all the good it is) being included in the park admission. We have gone back to a rental car because we get so much more efficiency than wasting our time waiting all the time..
