Official Writer's Thread

Yeah, as the official thread starter person (does that even give me a special position? lol  ) I'm thinking of making Sparx's banner the official one. Any disagreements?

And DisneyGirl421, your poems were great! I loved "Turning the Tables"!

I welcome you to use it. Just let me remove the typo. haha. a bunch of writers don't want to use a banner with a grammatical error in it. ;)

eta

The Love.
The love you give, the love you share
only leaves me a heart full of hope and despair.
I know I said it was fine, too early to tell
that six months later my heart would be broken, because i'd fell.
I had fallen so hard, you helped me get up
but the promise I made would slowly corrupt.
Corrupt into what its is now, i'm living a big lie
If you you loved me as well it'd be harder to die.
Die like I am, drowning inside your love,
constantly you're the one i'm thinking of.
But it was my choice six months ago.
I'm too nice, I let you, Its my fault, I know.
Its my fault that i'm in all this heartache, hope and despair,
I gave you permission
to give the love that you share.

Yeah. This poem has a lot of meaning to me. Constructive critisicm will work... but please don't make it mean. This poem means alot to me.

OMG, that was so great! You've created a great flow, I love it :thumbsup2

And thankyou Sparx! If anyone objects to using her banner, speak now or forever hold your peace!

Hey, just wondering if anybody liked my banners or my story :goodvibes

Loved 'em! I just loved Sparx's as soon as I saw it. In order to move things back to WRITING, I'm going to make that one the official banner. :thumbsup2

I'd put it in my sig now, but my Christmas pics coupled with the guidelines on here just won't allow it

im sorry, but im completely lost here...whats this thread about now? poetry and banners? :confused3

Lol, it's about writing of any kind. We just got a little preoccupied with making a banner for ourselves. I'm guilty as charged for that :rolleyes1

Your banners were great aside from the fact that I don't like pink and they were ginormous. (300+ KB I believe)

Ginormous! I have a funny story about that. *Hides cause I know its OT*

well, it probably isnt ot because this is the writers thread and it would be a story, so please, share! :teeth:

Yeah Sparx's was a lot better, I'm not good at banners and I just learned how to make them anyway  . I wrote another story, I'll post it.

Okay this story is called 'The Call of the Weewoo' (Sorry it's so long)

“Weeewooo!!” Genevieve woke with a start. She got up off the mat that she slept on, and ran to peer out through the one broken window in her neohome. The yellow acara saw nothing but dark morning sky and shriveled dead grass. She decided she must have been having a dream. Genevieve lived in a small cardboard shack a few minutes away from Neopia Central. Her owner and older siblings were always out trying to find work, and since Genevieve was too young to work, she was often left to be bored in her soggy, moldy neohome. The neohome had one room made of falling apart cardboard, so it was very cramped inside. Genevieve decided to take a walk in the Marketplace to look at all the nice things sold there. She put on a holey coat and a pair of rotting sandals and headed out.

The air on her street was polluted with smells of rotting garbage, dung, and other nauseating smells. The acara covered her nose and ran as quickly as her legs could carry her to the Marketplace. When she arrived, she took her paw off her nose and inhaled the sweet scents of the Marketplace. Fresh chocolate chip biscuits, pumpkin pies, and thousands of different varieties of cakes could be found scattered throughout the wonderful place. Genevieve smiled and started her window-shopping adventure.

“Weeewooo!!” Genevieve heard it again. She looked over her shoulder to see a faerie bori looking at some health food.

“Did you hear that?” she asked the stranger.

“Hear what?” he said looking at Genevieve as if she had grown a third eyeball.

“That ‘weewoo’ noise?” The bori shook his head and hurried away. Genevieve thought she was going crazy. She was the only one hearing this strange noise, and she had to find out why. There was only one person who she knew that knew about these kinds of things, a tyrannian uni named Talon. Genevieve decided to visit Talon, and get to the bottom of this. But Talon lives all the way out in Meridell! Genevieve thought. How on Neopia will I get there before dark? But that’s just when Genevieve remembered something. Her neighbor, Joe, was a strong eyrie who worked for the Eyrie Transport Company. He had flown her sisters up to Faerieland for free countless times to do jobs in the Employment Agency, so why couldn’t he fly her to Meridell and back, which was much closer than Faerieland?

Genevieve ran over to Joe’s neohome, and knocked on the old wood door three times. The brown eyrie opened the door, and greeted her with a friendly squawk.

“Hi Joe!” Genevieve said in a high-pitched voice. “ Err, I was just wondering, do you think you could fly me to Meridell and back? I don’t have any neopoints, but I don’t weigh much, and it’s really not that far. Please?”

“Of course! The Eyrie Transport Company is closed for redecorating, so I have a long time off. Hop on!” Joe smiled, and Genevieve climbed on. The eyrie flapped his gigantic wings, and the two were soon airborne. Genevieve smiled as the air ruffled her yellow fur. She tried not to look down, because she was a bit afraid of heights, but she couldn’t help herself. When she looked down, she was not the least bit scared. The view was amazing! She could see the rolling hills of Neopia Central, and all the owners and neopets looked like little specks. Genevieve had been too embarrassed to ask Joe for a ride before this, so it was her first time traveling by eyrie.

“Weeewooo!!” Genevieve looked up. She had almost forgotten what she was doing in the first place.

“Joe, did you hear that ‘weewoo’ noise?” Genevieve asked.

“No, I didn’t.” Joe didn’t even look up from the sky. Genevieve knew for sure that this was something weird now. Joe had acute hearing, so she had to be hearing things. Genevieve decided if Talon couldn’t help her, she needed to go to the Neopian Hospital right away.

When they were starting to near Meridell, Joe asked where in Meridell she wanted to be.

“The pet I’m visiting lives on Royal Parade. You know, the fancy street in Meridell.” Genevieve explained. Joe nodded, and started gliding toward the street. When the pair landed, Genevieve slid down Joe’s wing and landed clumsily on the ground with a loud THUD! She blushed a little, and asked Joe to meet her outside the old house at the end of the street in thirty minutes. She picked herself up, and began walking towards the end of the street, where Talon’s house was located. She looked around happily as she walked. The pets that lived on Talon’s street were all dressed up in expensive dresses and outfits, most painted rare or exotic colors. The pets stared at her as if she were a piece of gum stuck on their shoes. Genevieve stared at the ground. She didn’t know where Joe had flown off to, so she was all alone. She continued walking down the street, only looking up occasionally to see where she was. She reached Talon’s neohome (more like neomansion) after what seemed like forever. Talon lived in the biggest, oldest, and most grand neohome on the street. Genevieve walked up the long walkway and knocked three times with the big brass knocker. The tyrannian uni opened the door and smiled at Genevieve.

“Hello there my dear! What brings you here this fine day? I would have thought you would be window shopping at the Marketplace.” Talon said.

“Well, I was, but I’ve been hearing this noise. It woke me up this morning! I’ve heard it twice more since then.” Genevieve always waved her arms wildly whenever she spoke of exciting, scary, or mysterious things. Sometimes it could be quite a funny sight to see.

“No need to get all riled up about it dear!” Talon chuckled. “Now, what kind of noise was it?”

“It went sort of like ‘Weeewooo’” passersby were starting giving the two funny looks.

“I think it’s best we go inside.” Talon herded Genevieve into a large red velvet armchair next to a glowing fireplace. He sat down in an identical chair.

“ A ‘weeewooo’ noise hmm?” Talon asked. Genevieve nodded.

“Only I can hear it too. Nobody else but me!” Genevieve’s voice was shaky.

“Well my dear, you are very lucky acara indeed. The weewoo, if you do not know, is a petpet. The most common color is brown, but they come in many other colors too. The rarest color is white. Now, I have a hunch that you are being followed by a white weewoo. The white weewoo chooses one neopet to follow every, say, three centuries or so. Anyway, it only chooses someone who isn’t very lucky, but tries to make the best of things anyway. Only the chosen one can hear it’s calls. Now, this is the good part, on it’s fifth call, whatever the chosen one has ever wished for, it all magically appears.” Genevieve just sat on the armchair gaping at Talon.

“This must be some kind of a mistake. Me? Some kind of a chosen one? Talon, are you kidding around with me? Because if you are, it’s most definitely not funny!” Genevieve had stood up and put her paws on her hips.

“No, I’m serious. I think you should run along now dear, I’m sure your eyrie friend is waiting for you, and it’s almost dark.” Talon lead Genevieve out the door, where Joe was waiting.

“Weeewooo!!”

“I heard it again Talon! The ‘weeewooo’ noise!” Genevieve looked around. Talon was already back in his neohome.

“We have to hurry if we want to get home before dark. You sure talked to that old dude for a long time.” Joe flapped his wings a few times, and they were soon on their way home.

Joe dropped Genevieve off first, and the two said their farewells. Once Joe had gone, Genevieve walked sleepily into her cardboard neohome. She yawned, opened the door, and walked over to her mat, on which she soon fell asleep.

“Weeewooo!!” Genevieve woke up to the same noise that morning. She stretched and yawned, then opened her eyes. When she did so, she was utterly amazed. Her neohome didn’t smell like moldy cheese, but more like lilacs and roses. It was not made of cardboard, but clouds. It was more then one room, she had only had time to run into three but she was sure there were more to come. Genevieve found a door which she hoped lead to the outside. She opened it and found out she no longer lived in Neopia Central. She lived in Faerieland.

“Kelby! Edeline! Ashlyn! Come quick!” Genevieve ran inside calling the names of her owner and two sisters, hoping they were there. Kelby came out yawning and rubbing her eyes.

“What is it Genevieve?” her owner opened her eyes and gasped. “Genevieve! Y-you’re r-r-royal!

“I am? I am!” Genevieve was so happy, and even happier when her sisters came to greet her.

“Edeline! You’re royal too!” the cybunny looked down at her beautiful dress and started to cry tears of joy. That’s when Ashlyn came out.

“Edeline! Genevieve! You guys are royal!” that’s when the kougra looked at her own self. She joined Edeliene in crying tears of joy.

“But how did all this happen overnight?” Kelby said.

“A good friend of mine did it.” Genevieve smiled and thought to herself: Thank you. Thank you for everything.

The End
