Walking the Wire:

They're walking high up on the wire
I'm left standing below
far, far below
I'm staring up at them
they're up so high
I want to be up there
walking among them
right behind them
right beside them
what must I do?
My heart is up there
I can feel it fly
It beckons me to follow
My soul and mind are up there
Sober yet high
They beckon me to follow
My body is still down here
It aches to be up there.
Walking that wire
My body and soul will ache
along with my heart
It won't stop till I'm there
'till I'm walking the wire.

soo... I was searching through my old writing notebook, and I found these two poems... I wrote them both back in 2004... lol

"Goodbye, My Love"
I know this is wrong.
We shouldn’t be together.
We’ve got everything against us.
If they found us,
They would never let us be.
But when I’m with you,
I forget about everything.
Forget about the worries,
Forget about the stress,
Forget about the fear.
All I see is you,
All I think is you,
All I want is you.
Whenever I look into your eyes,
I feel like I’m on top of the world.
Whenever we kiss,
I feel like I’m in heaven.
Whenever we touch,
I don’t want to let go.
But you know as well as I,
That all good things must come to an end.
It’s killing me inside,
The fear of their discovery.
If only we were somewhere else,
Anywhere but here.
Here, we’d never be together.
There, we’d be together forever.
Nothing would be in our way.
But alas, we are here.

"Turning the Tables"
You will never know how much it hurts.
We had it all,
Friends forever.
What went wrong?

Why did you have to backstab?

How it felt to have you stab me in the back like that.

yeahh... I'm not the best poet in the world... the first one has a Romeo & Juliet-type feeling to it, and I have no idea how I got the inspiration for it... and the second comes from a real life experience... My ex-best friend kinda backstabed me, and we haven't talked since so yea...
