Is there a Pasta in the Park party this year? I don't see anything about it.
I know last year there was a dinner at HS.

I am already having a sparkle skirt made out of fabric printed from the photo of a barrel for the Urban Bourbon half - it will double nicely for a wine barrel.

I know it's a whole new ball game with the change from the night race to day race, but could anyone summarize which attractions, etc. are typically open for the party? Is it just "headliners" plus the F&W booths? Or are other parts of World Showcase open as well?

OMG Just found this thread, so excited as I've just signed up for this event (Well Yesterday) first Run Disney event and first Half Marathon

We're both running and have 'tickets' .... My initial thought is you're spot on! Use the bonus $80 to eat elsewhere and play!

Alternatively, make friends and acquire their 'after party' wristband .... Especially for those many folks who are flying back Sunday afternoon .... Disney isn't losing money ....

And let's be realistic, only half to 3/4 of the runners will attend the after party anyway.

I think that the 3/4 estimate is being generous. An extra day's vacation plus accommodations may be push the party out of a bunch of people's wheel houses. If I go to the party, I will need to take Monday as a day off without pay.

I don't expect the attraction line up to change much, if at all. I think its easier to list what will be closed rather than what will be open: Innoventions, Universe of Energy, Turtle Talk with Crush. That's at least what I can recall.

I feel like they've been phasing out the pasta parties with recent races... If you don't see it on the runDisney website I expect that they just aren't having it.

Already have ours set! We had custom Ariel skirts made prior to Princess that were still waiting on so we'll wear those for the 10K so we can use them. At least the outfits are done and paid for! Then we have an Irish theme for our half outfits!

First chance to see how everyone did yesterday with registering. Congrats to those that were able to get in! Since I registered myself for the 5K + Challenge last week, I left my parents to register themselves for the 5K and 10K . Not a smart move on my part! They went after the 5K first, instead of the 10K like I told them to and they were both able to get the 5K and my mom in for the 10K. Sigh, now I have to look at the charities for my dad! Silly parents!

Oh wow! If anyone is having second thoughts about their registration or lack there of, there are still quite a few charity slots available!! I'm running for: http://www.catchaliftfund.com/nyc16/
and their coordinator, Bill, is AMAZING!!! He even gave me his cell in case of any questions. I signed up for the 10K, but decided this morning I desperately wanted to do the Lumiere Challenge. He was able to upgrade me! I'm so excited! I think from now on, I'll be running every Disney race for a charity! Feels good to do it for a cause!

And now, it's on to planning outfits! Hmmm....

Any word on if they'll be a chear squad with the half? What are viewing options for spectators for the half? Will my kids and I be able to see my dh start or finish? Are there viewing places along the route that would be good? Maybe along the boardwalk? I ran the Tinkerbell Half Marathon at DL and there were several places dh and my kiddos could see me, but obviously I know DW is set up totally different.

If the most recent races are any indication, the training guide will be any day now and the event guide will be late Sept or early Oct.

Maybe accidental double registrations? Or fixes along the way. Probably once they fix they release that back into the pool since its just the day after vs closer to the race. Or just someone gettimg their giggles messing with people. Could be anything

Do we have any idea what the course for the half will be like? I know it is changing from previous years. I've done the Princess half but I imagine this will be a different course?
