Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Any experienced runD folks know when they might post this year's event guide and an updated Galloway training program for 2016?
Event guide: 2-4 weeks before the race (most likely closer to 2 weeks)

As for the training plan, it'll be the same as the other Galloway plans they've posted for the other Disney half marathons, just with the dates adjusted to line up with Wine & Dine weekend, so you could look at any of the other plans to see what it'll be,
Any word on if they'll be a chear squad with the half? What are viewing options for spectators for the half? Will my kids and I be able to see my dh start or finish? Are there viewing places along the route that would be good? Maybe along the boardwalk? I ran the Tinkerbell Half Marathon at DL and there were several places dh and my kiddos could see me, but obviously I know DW is set up totally different.
If there's no ChEAR on the page, I'd assume they won't have it. They don't have any information in the Spectators section yet and with no course map, it's hard to say. The course description doesn't mention the Boardwalk so I wouldn't count on that one, especially since we won't be running in Hollywood Studios.
Do we have any idea what the course for the half will be like? I know it is changing from previous years. I've done the Princess half but I imagine this will be a different course?
From runDisney.com: "13.1-mile course through ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park & Epcot®"

Very different from the Princess Half course as we won't be going through the Magic Kingdom. I'm guessing we won't see a course map until the Event Guide is posted but it'll maybe be somewhat similar to Star Wars Dark Side? But different because again, no Hollywood Studios (Dark Side has Hollywood Studios). :confused3

Yes different course. Thank goodness. I wish they would change the Princess Half course. It was pretty boring through a good majority of it. I see @Ariel484 already posted the route....should be a good one!

Route - I'd anticipate something very similar to the Dark Side races

There is no incentive to end at Epcot and it only causes logistical issues.

Maybe a dif path, but starting at the same parking lot and ending at the same lot would be my guess.

I'm curious about the course for both the 1/2 and 10K.

In addition to courses, I can't wait to see the medals and the rest of the merchandise. I'm also eager for the new, updated wine & dine "I'm training for...." clip art pics for Facebook.

Ok.... So am I the only one that thinks the after party price is crazy... I am running the half and went to buy an after party ticket for my husband who is not running. We are annual passholders.... I have a hard time spending 80$ for a few hours in the park for what is essentially the same as if we went during the day for free with our passes. I am thinking of saving the 80$ and putting it towards a nice dinner at Cali Grill and enjoying my own celebration at Epcot after the race. Thoughts????

My DH and I had this discussion last night. I am running 5k & 10K and he is not at all so we would have to pay $160.00. Last year our DD and DSIL ran the half so we bought tickets but only stayed a short period of time after they finished-too crowded. Instead we are going to figure out if we can do the MNSSHP and MVMCP. Although Cali grill is sounding very tempting....:confused3

I know it's a whole new ball game with the change from the night race to day race, but could anyone summarize which attractions, etc. are typically open for the party? Is it just "headliners" plus the F&W booths? Or are other parts of World Showcase open as well?
Last year, I recall: Soarin', SSE, and Test Track.

Has anyone heard anything about rundisney not doing discounts on room and tickets for this race?

That was going to be my question, has a course been released for the 10K?
No, just a very vague description ("Epcot")

No discounts listed and all resorts are host resorts - I'm assuming the weekend is now big enough for them to not do discounts anymore. Doesn't mean there won't be a general room discount available though.

Wondering though with DHS in the course how much street time will we have. The boredome with Princess is that there are so many "highway miles" for lack of a better term. The couple miles in MK are amazing, but otherwise it's rather dull. Hopefully this one will be more entertaining.

Right now DHS isn't listed in the Wine & Dine course description at all...maybe that will change. :confused3

I'm not sure if I'm losing it or was a victim of auto correct, but I mean with DHS NOT in the course...mostly just wondering about how much highway time I guess.

I'm thinking the answer will be "a lot." :(

This was my favorite half not only because of the nighttime aspect, but also because it went through 3 parks. I probably shouldn't be too surprised that DHS is out this year with the construction happening...I wonder if they'll add it back in the future?

*shudders* oh the highway miles! Boo hiss. Wish they could change the course a bit and hoping W&D will be a bit more riveting!
