I think they kind of "owe" it to the fans who rolled with the changes this year to have something unexpected (in a good way) to make up for taking away the night aspect.*shudders* oh the highway miles! Boo hiss. Wish they could change the course a bit and hoping W&D will be a bit more riveting!
Thanks for the feedback about lasts year!!! I'm def. thinking Cali Grill is calling my name!My DH and I had this discussion last night. I am running 5k & 10K and he is not at all so we would have to pay $160.00. Last year our DD and DSIL ran the half so we bought tickets but only stayed a short period of time after they finished-too crowded. Instead we are going to figure out if we can do the MNSSHP and MVMCP. Although Cali grill is sounding very tempting....![]()

When I ran the Star Wars 1/2 in 2015, we had a beautiful sunrise during the race. It almost made getting up so early worth it.Sunrise will be about 6:40 so we'll have that to look at![]()

That would be cool...the training shirt still looks pretty Christmas-y, though. I thought the name change was more because the Jingle Jungle parade isn't a thing anymore. So since it's "Mickey's HOLIDAY 5k" now, anyone else think maybe it will be other Holidays besides just Christmas? The pictures they are using are from a Halloween 5k at MK it looks like (which happened what once?) anyway so maybe... It would be cool if it was Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas all rolled into one.
In addition to courses, I can't wait to see the medals and the rest of the merchandise. I'm also eager for the new, updated wine & dine "I'm training for...." clip art pics for Facebook.
Medals seem to vary, but I would guess we'll see them maybe 1-2 months before the race (sometimes they release pictures earlier when they need to sell more race registrations...obviously not a problem with Wine & Dine). They will do a merchandise preview on the Disney Parks blog and/or on Facebook at most 1-2 weeks before the event.Well this is exciting news. I didnt know the medals were shown beforehand, and that there would be more merchandise. How far before the race will these show up, roughly?
I pre-ordered the pins. I am not a big pin collector but I do get them for special events or resorts we stay at, and I like them.I am also debating purchasing the pin set. What are your guys thoughts on those? Must have? Not worth the price?

Pop, Art of Animation and any of the All-Stars look to be the closest. Not sure what the bus sharing situation is at the All-Stars but my BFFs stayed at AoA and said it was fine.My sis talked my wife and I into registering kind of last minute for the half. She's going for coast to coast having done Tinkerbell. Now we are thinking of signing up for another Disneyland race to get ours. This will be our first WDW runDisney race.
Question on resorts: which is most convenient to ESPN/starting line? Anyone ever stay at Art of Animation or All Star Sports? We usually stay closer to Magic Kingdom, so not sure how to plan this trip wisely.
That's interesting...the races are marked as sold out on runDisney.com...did you get an Active.com confirmation? Congrats!!Soooo I just got super lucky and stublef onto registration being on hold. So I refreshed and got in! Now to figure something out for my hubs.

Thanks, Though I live in Tampa .. the idea of paying an extra 200 dollars on top because Disney is trying to squeeze more money out of people is distasteful. I did the Light side and will do the Dark side and get the Kessel medal. That will be enough money go to mouse for me ... Gives me an excuse to go out to Anaheim again some time, my wife and I had a great time in that city.Get on the email address lists for the travel partners. It is highly likely that more bibs will become available through them all summer long, even as it reads 'Sold out' on the website.
I also got them because we won't be at the expo until Fri morning so just hoping there are still I did it shirts.
