Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

I'm thinking that they may increase the price to 200 even maybe 210- especially if they have more races. Kind of test the waters more than one way so to speak.

$190 apparently is not the ceiling for this race, I remember the DVC early registration selling out pretty quickly, and if I recall correctly, didn't the general registration sell out pretty quickly too? In that case; at least perhaps for this particular race, the market is still willing to bear a little bit more money?

Man, if they add a challenge this year I'm going to be sad. I swore I was not running anymore Disney races after Tinker Bell until dopey....but more races equals more pretty shiny bling. Damn Disney sure knows how to part me from my money LOL
Yeah, I think it sold out in less than an hour or something crazy.

And I'm reading posts on Facebook from people saying stuff like, "I wasn't going to do this race but now that there may be a challenge, I'll need to change my plans." It'll be interesting to see what happens.

This is my first time registering as an AP holder and of course I've been having issues with Disney's site. When I follow the link from my AP link it takes me to a rundisney site for the Disneyland half marathon. Can anyone tell me if I am following the right link? Don't want to find out too late that I am in the wrong area. Really hoping this 10k is true as I was settling for the 5k because I am not yet brave enough to try for a half.

That's the right one. It'll get updated to have Wine & Dine links...you know...eventually. I'm just glad they got the AP site working again!

Thank you so much. I was beginning to think I was crazy when I kept getting errors or blank screens. Phew.

Broke what "news"? That the dates are funny on a webpage and it also lists a 10k? How is that "news" when you have nothing except the same speculation that EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THIS THREAD has talked about for weeks and now months?

Congrats on the blog hits, though.

It is extremely disheartening to see you especially speaking to someone like this. I don't necessarily post all the time, but am I just a lurker? Absolutely not. I actually had held you in higher esteem Keels and looked out for you at WDW Marathon Weekend. It is a complete shame that so many people try to be included in this 'community' and get turned away by comments like that or someone else on these boards speaking to them as if they should be shunned because they are a lurker. That is certainly not the type of attitude that made me join these boards. We speculate and fact check just like the rest of them. The world does not revolve around these boards. Get off the high horse. I added to the speculation by saying a charity's calendar that I was running for at Princess had a day added to Wine & Dine.

Now, can we all get back to the reason we post on these boards, because we love Disney and runDisney and want to talk to people who feel the same?

Apologies if I offended anyone, but we need to stop acting like a bunch of schoolgirls in a click.

Make sure you have your Active.com account all set up. :thumbsup2
I've had mine and just signed hubby up for his....I'll be using our laptop and tablet to get us both signed up for our races and then our son for the kids races. So excited for our first Wine and Dine weekend. We've been to Princess twice and missed out on it this year so we can go to Wine and Dine. Thank you again:)

what's even worse? the race I would have run in W&D's place? Rock N Roll....

VEGAS.

Who the heck gives up Vegas for Disney?

*le sigh*

Disney addicts. :)

It's so good to be understood.....

because everyone else i know would have been like @**#)! are you #(*)*(*$ crazy? Go to Vegas!
I mean, this race is the ONLY thing that shuts down the Vegas Strip. AND AT NIGHT!!

And no, I'm still like "oh but there might be a new pretty shiny" as if RNR doesn't have medals. I mean, true true, they're not Disney medals....but some are quite ingenious.

Heck, who am I kidding? I don't have to explain myself to you guys- cause y'all get it!

Shoot, no one booked flights yet, right? If they're changing the dates that may mess up travel plans already in place...

It really annoys me that they wait so long to announce stuff like this.

I agree - given how nuts registration was for this last year I suspect they will really push the boundaries to test where the price point is that interest drops off.

I love runDisney as much as anyone here - but that Vegas race is pretty amazing...

Like all on the same day? Hooooo boy. I'm not sure I'd be up for that!

Sure Why Not :rotfl2:

I would like to sign up again this year to actually run the half since 15 was cut, but right now I have a half triathlon on the calendar the week after.

Oh I'd give up Vegas for Disney. Hahahaha!

Then again, my trip to Vegas was a legit nightmare with a narcissist, and I felt like Vegas was a giant space port on Mars. Only so far and so much you can do in that space! I suppose I should give it another chance! But, being a Disney addict, I would probably still chose a RD race over R&R. :teeth:

Let's stir the pot. Pun Intended.

What do y'all think about 5K in the am, 10K in the afternoon with the half in the evening. Would be a different challenge.
That would be fun...maybe...that afternoon 10k might be rough though especially trying to fit park time in too! The 10k would have to stay all in WWOS though, so as not to interrupt parks, now that would be a challenge! ha! Throw in some scavenger hunt and obstacles like Everest and I'm in!

Okay, cool.
I didn't come over here and drop a link and run, so this response is pretty rude. I noticed the hits from disboards and thought I'd check it out. That was my only intention.
I'll go back to lurking. Have a great day.
I posted your link after seeing it on FB, I found it all interesting on the speculating and thought it would be fun to share on here as normally it's a positive place, sorry it caused an issue.

Either way what ever happens with the races I plan on trying to register, just hope we can get in as it sounds like from social media this race is picking up lots of steam after it's drop in enthusiasm after last years.

If they add a 10K, I'll do that instead of the 5K. Running a half at night is still not for me!

I know the weather the last two years for this race hasn't been good, but how is it normally in Florida in November? Decent?

Usually it's pretty nice in Florida in November and December, but last year it stayed in the 80s until January. The humidity wasn't as bad and it wasn't the heat we usually have in August, but it was still hot. What will it be this year? Who knows... I will bet that it will be nicer than August and September but probably still on the warm side

78 degrees is the highs 59 degrees is the lows usually for Orlando. Those are the averages from most weather sites. Our defined "rainy season" is from May through October. So, it truly is a fluke that the last few Wine & Dine Halfs have seen SO much terrible weather! I'm sincerely hoping this year the weather will be excellent!
