Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

The funny thing is, I never had the desire to do Wine & Dine until now. I mean, I really do not want to run 13.1 starting at 10:00 pm!!! Wha???! Lol. I've been waiting and waiting for all the info to post before I commit to the half. We are def doing the Jingle Jungle 5K but I NEED TO KNOW MORE!! Crikey! Registration for us Passholders (DVC too) is RIGHT around the corner. Yeeeeesh.

Still no new info  but here are last year's prices. This has always been the most expensive half marathon at WDW since registration includes the after party ticket.

I'm especially curious to see what they do after the crazy price increases they implemented for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend events. Both the half marathon and Dumbo Double Dare are still open, so have they finally hit the ceiling on what people are willing to pay?

Will they blow past the $200 mark for Wine & Dine or keep it under $200? HMMM...I feel like they WILL keep it under $200 - I've heard the California races are more expensive because there's more to do with closing Anaheim roads and whatnot (where WDW races are entirely on property), but if there was a half marathon at WDW that would pass the $200 mark, I think it would be this one.

Disney's Wine & Dine Half Marathon
$190 on or before March 31, 2015
$205 between April 1, 2015 - April 14, 2015
$220 on or after April 15, 2015

Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5K
$65 on or before April 14, 2015
$75 on or after April 15, 2015

runDisney Kids Races (Dashes)
$15 on or before April 14, 2015
$20 on or after April 15, 2015

runDisney Kids Races (1-mile run)
$30 on or before April 14, 2015
$35 on or after April 15, 2015

Its like some type of cruel taunting torture to make us want it even more!! If this wasn't my first runD event and first 1/2 marathon then I'd chill out a bit. But it is, so I can't. The room reservations are already made, I mean I HAVE TO DO THIS THING!! If I don't manage to get registered then I'm going on exercise strike and I'm going to take photos of me sitting on the couch eating gummy worms every day until Nov 5th.....WHINING and Dining (on gummy worms). I'll post them online and title each one "This is what I'm doing today, since I didn't get into the Wine&Dine 1/2 marathon"!

Love this, and I'm in the same boat! I am going solo and running my first ever 1/2! I seriously wake up everyday and check the websites just to prep for next week :) I sure hope we all get in!

If you're going solo and want to meet up with 2 more first timers, we can!!

And if none of us manage to get registered, you're also welcome to come eat gummy worms with us in protest!

Well, my AP expired a couple of weeks ago and I am not activating my new one until the dark side challenge next month. So, time for regular registration day fun! *heavy dose of sarcasm. I truly hope registration for this goes much better this year than in the past. Because, just to throw another issue into the mix, I have a hearing that morning the 15th now :( Luckily, my office is right across the street from the courthouse. But, I am praying nothing runs over!

We need to get our support group set up beforehand! Now I am off to read back a few pages and catch up on this thread...

I was checking out flights this morning and PHEW I hope they go down! They're over $200 more than what I paid for our flights for PHM. :crazy2:

anyone else see this posted on this blog that was shared on facebook http://noguiltlife.com/something-new-for-wine-and-dine-rundisney/
10k listed on active??? I can't actually even find it on active myself...oh wait edited here it is

Active and RunDisney are both not very reliable when it comes to information...LOL. I hate that we are technically at AP registration time and we have no prices and now maybe wrong information on dates/events. UGH...

I know it's a little annoying, could be just a copy and paste mistake but it has the dates starting Nov. 2, Wednesday...Who knows, the waiting is hard....probably will just be the same which is fine, but accurate info. anyday now would be nice.

Oh Man! Exactly what I have been hoping for and just today something came up that may prevent me from traveling in Nov. Just my luck! :hyper:

So I called runDisney, knowing they wouldn't actually give me any information...but I wanted to register how...displeased, I guess, I am that the prices are not posted yet.

The person I talked to put me on hold, and then came back and said that the prices would not be posted until registration begins. I'm sorry, what?

I told her (as nicely as I could) that this seemed pretty unusual to me, and that I've done a few runDisney races before and that I'd always known the price about a week ahead of time...and that it would be nice to know now since these races are expensive, and I wanted to sort of be ready for it. She didn't really know what to say to that. Granted, I know this is someone that works in the call center and not REALLY a runDisney employee...but she could have given me a better answer than that.

Super not impressed with runDisney right now.

Person probably didn't have a clue what to say...Maybe Monday they'll have stuff up, a good 24 hours before to let the prices or if any races changes happen sink in. If a challenge or 10k is added I think registration will be a crazy zoo....

HA! Great minds think alike! I just did the same thing. Just now, called up RunDisney, and got pretty much the same response. The rep even said she's been dying to know because half the call center plans on registering for the race as well. She said RunDisney refuses to give them any info yet. So weird!!! Something must be changing with this race, if it was staying the same it would be most illogical to not have it updated by now!!!!

Yeeeesh. Don't even get me started on the DECISION MAKERS at RunDisney. They could use some feedback!!

Yep, them adding a 10K/challenge option is definitely a prediction of mine. I don't see how they can do it without significantly shuffling the weekend around (or making 2 of the races on the same day?) so we'll see what happens...you know...maybe.

Only date remaining on the RunDisney site is now the Half...if you look under the events tab...the dates where there earlier...LOL

Does this race run the same course as any of the others so that they could technically open it up to more registrants? Or is it a "smaller" race because the course doesn't allow for it to be bigger like some of the other runD races? Just curious.

It's different from the other courses, and I have heard that because it is the way it is, they cannot have more than 15,000 runners in the race.

But with the Studios construction, they need to change the course this year, so who knows...it could become a bigger race.

Typically smaller than WDW Half and Princess Half.
