Since everyone else is sharing them, here are some of my thoughts on the weekend:
-Expo was smooth overall, but a bit of a disappointment. I was upset that some of the merchandise was pulled due to the spelling error, since I really wanted the black event t-shirt. I ended up getting the half marathon "I Did It" shirt instead (which is bigger than I'd like - should have gone with the small even though the volunteer told me she thought the medium was better when I tried them on), and even though I saw on Sunday that the black shirt was in the post-race merchandise tent, I couldn't bring myself to get it. I would have loved the water bottle too, even though I have tons of water bottles. I was also disappointed in New Balance, since I was wearing flip flops and they didn't have footies to try on the shoes. I guess the good news is it saved me over $100 since I ended up not getting any.
-Transportation from All-Star Sports was a breeze. Only had to wait for a bus for about 10 minutes for the expo. For the 10K and half, we literally walked right onto buses that were able to then leave pretty much right away since people were coming steadily.
-I was really excited about the 10K course since I love the Boardwalk area and Epcot, and it did not disappoint. I definitely got a little bounce in my step upon entering World Showcase and loved that loop. Everything about it was amazing.
-The half marathon course did not bother me either. The park time was super fast and I would have loved the World Showcase loop there too, but overall it was fine. I definitely did notice the camber (I think that's the word for the slanting) of the roads though. And as a side note, I have to mention that I saw
@Ariel484 after exiting Animal Kingdom. I wish I would have said hi but I'm such a chicken and didn't!
-I absolutely adore the medals. They did a great job with them.
Overall, I had an amazing time and without a doubt plan to be back for another RunDisney weekend at some point. I'd still love to do Marathon or Princess Weekend, and also try out
Disneyland too. In the meantime, I'm trying to work out my short term goals and keep doing local races.
It seems like I'm in the minority here but I didn't feel it was too hot at all. I felt it was a bit cool starting out, but it did warm up, I just didn't feel it was bad.
I agree. And this is coming from me, someone who is a wimp when it comes to heat! I was definitely sweating and felt the humidity, but never did I feel overheated or think it was too much. Even when the sun came up. Strangely, I was a lot hotter during the last few miles of my local half marathon in June.
