Few pages back there was discuss about inventory levels at expo being wiped out by Saturday.

My wife placed our registration over phone with IRUN and I reminder her to order the pin to go with it (like I did with Wine and Dine). After order placed and I got home from work, she informed me that rep had no idea how to order the commemorative pin. Actually stated she knew nothing about it.

Do they carry an ample supply of pins or do those get cleaned out too?

At the PHM, I didn't order the pin, but there were still plenty to go around when I went again that Saturday.

Thanks. I am not a pin collector (like my DD is becoming) but I like to add the accompanied pin with the medal...for sentimental reasons. pirate:

Anyone submit their proof of time AFTER registering? I was so happy I finally got a marathon proof of time! I sent two emails in the last several weeks and received no confirmation back. For the 2011 Princess Half when I submitted proof I received an email back pretty quickly showing they had updated my time. Just wondering if anyone has done this yet and if they received confirmation.

I emailed to submit my DL 1/2 time for Wine & Dine and for the marathon. I got a confirmation email back for the Wine and Dine but she didn't mention updating the marathon... She also said she updated my T-shirt size, which was really great because the one I got at DL was huge.

I sent one email a few weeks ago and didn't receive a reply either. I suppose I'll nag them again with another just for verification. Worst case scenario, I'll just print out my results and bring them with me to argue at the runner relations booth while picking up my packet. :confused3

We emailed RunDisney about another issue over a week ago, then followed up with a phone call, and still haven't heard from them. It's irritating when you post an email address and a contact phone number yet they don't respond.

I ran Rock n Roll Philly yesterday, and during my 2:39 minute run there were some breaks with a little less rock, and a lot more roll, lol. Gave me time to think about my strategy for the Marathon. Running 13.1 is *hard* and although I know I can *finish* 26.2 I don't know if I can *run* 26.2
I decided that I would run at least 13.1, possibly shoot for 15. Assuming I finish 13.1 in around 2:30 minutes, I will have 20 minutes per mile to finish the second 13.1 (I used a calculator for this later, I didn't do the math while I ran lol)
I have decided to wall the second half, which won't take me 20 minutes per mile, more like 16-17, and finish when I finish.
If, during my training, I find that I can run as much as 20 miles without wanting to kill people, then I will ammend my stategy!
Yesterday, I ran 13.35 and then walked another 2, and although my legs were very achey yesterday, I feel pretty good today! There is hope for me yet, lol

Believe me, I wanted it for the same reason and kicked myself when I saw it was sold out and but was thrilled when it was for sale at the expo. The pin being sold out did push me to purchase the commemorative necklace and THAT was a waste of money. It was an ugly and expensive piece of junk. DD on the other hand loved it and asked for it, but never wears it :rotfl:.

Tuesday I ran 15 miles, my longest distance to date, and made it feeling pretty good. Walked 2 or 3 times towards the end. Today did 5 miles and was totally sucking air. I felt like I just couldn't breath right. Don't know if it was that I started out too fast, or was just tired. There's always tomorrow.

way to go on the 15 miles! You rock!

For all of you that have submitted proof of time after you have registered, how did you do it?

Did you print off a copy of the race results and scan them in and email them? Did you just email them the race info (name, date, length of race) and your time with the link to the official results page?

I just submitted a link to the race results and then included the name, date, and length of the race. It took about 2 weeks for them to send me a confirmation email, but they did get the info and put me in an appropriate corral.

Be sure to bring the proof with you....if they do not put you in the right corral, you can get it pchanged at the Expo. I did this last year and they just put a sticker on my race bib.

Hello I have heard good things about these boards from my daughter regl8ter18 so I decided to join the group. I am going to be running the goofy challange in january. This will be my first one. I have only been running for a year now thanks to my daughter who talked me into it. I have done a few half marathons and decided to take the plunge and do both the half and the full.

Welcome! New here as well. Bunch of great folks here with lots of great advice.

Ugh! I'm finding it so hard to get motivated! I'm a new runner/walker, and still haven't found the 'love' of it. We have been so crazy busy lately, I'm just not making training a priority, and this 1/2 is gonna sneak up on me!! Doing 3 miles, one day a week just isn't gonna cut it.
Sigh...
Ok, whine over! Thanks for listening. :)

Kim, I think I may be adopting your startegy for the full. After 15 I was pooped! Definitely will have to do some walking in the second half of the full. I did a four miler today and my legs just felt heavy and tired. Don't know if it's because now I am running in the morning (not crazy early, just after getting the kids on the bus, come home let the dog out, eat breakfast, yattta yatta). My early evening runs feel so much better. Stupid soccer! By the time soccer is over it will be dark at 5:00. I need a tractor beam that will maintain the sun shining to about 8:00 come November. :rotfl2:
