Official thread for The Bachelor

I think that because there is no "after the rose" or anything on ABC's home page, this is a bad sign.
Maybe because I wasn't into the show this time, but I haven't seen much about TB this season.
Were they on GMA?

Whooooooooooooo HOOOOOoooooooooooo!!!!

Finally, a Bachelor who picks the woman with Brains instead of picking the one his "Little Buddy" likes.

I watched it this morning and I knew it was over as soon as she told his folks "It's not in my character to answer that..."

What do you mean by that...It's not your character to tell someone why you supposedly love their son...If you really care for someone, it's not really hard to talk about him.

I don't know if it will work out with Sarah but I don't think he had the time or the inclination to "FIX" Moana and deal with her issues.

Good choice Travis...As for the pics of him before the show...I would never have looked at him twice...I don't like long hair on Men...That is why I am with my Man...He's hair is short even though he is short on hair... :lmao:

There is a girl who has posted on the ABC board all season long who taught with Sarah and has talked to her through the whole series - it seems like the run inthe same circle

according to her - Sarah really kept the secret but they have all noticed that she has been really happy since she came home. Since last night she has posted that Travis has taken too much time off work and therefore they decided not to do interviews and that right now they want to focus on each other - that they are very happy with each other and she thinks Travis is looking for a job in Nashville but that Sarah would go wherever with him

and that Sarah is very funny and full of life and the show edited a lot of that out - she said that Sarah and Travis are a lot alike and that their personalities (from what she has seen on the show) really complement each other -

I will keep an eye on her posts to see if she says anything after she gets to see Sarah - which she seems to think will be within the week

I was very happy to see Travis pick Sarah but felt the whole ending was a bit of a let down. I don't think it gave us (the viewers) the closure we like with them confessing their undying love and riding off into the sunset together. I'm another that would have preferred him just telling her: "I'm not going to give you the ring until I know we're ready for the next step", instead of putting it on a chain. I'm sure that's probably something the producers made him do.

As for Moana, I feel everything she said was a cliche. Especially the whole "guys like him don't pick girls like me" statement. What a drama queen! I really think she was just trying to be the next Bachelorette. If she is, I don't think I will watch.

I think it made it more realistic, though. Most people aren't head over heels in love and ready to get engaged after a few dates.

I looked on my DVR and there is no After the Rose show planned anytime soon (at least not before 3/15).

I just watched it this morning too. As much as I've taken up for Moana, I wanted to thump her upside her pretty head when she acted the way she did at dinner with his parents.

I couldn't help but think back to when I met my DH's parents and how I acted. I was never at a loss for words, as to how I felt about their son! When you love someone, you don't have to think about that for a second! Nor do you hesitate to share that!

She made a stupid mistake. I don't know how much of it played a part in his final decision, but if I were Travis, I would have known then and there, that she wasn't the one for me.

Can you all imagine the holidays? Both sets of parents would have had, or been, issues!

FYI - on our local news, they did a segment on Matthew (the runner-up with Meredith), and he was asked to do The Bachelor-Paris and he turned them down.

He's been dating a woman that Laney (the guy on the same show from Dallas) introduced him too, for about 1 1/2 years. They seemed very happy.

I don't doubt that you can fall in love in a few weeks,or even a few days..I knew from day one and it's now year 12. I do find it hard to believe that someone could find a lifelong relationship in a case like this.

I fell in love with my DH on our SECOND date. I agree! It can, and does, happen.

Although, he wasn't dating other women at the time, but we did meet on match.com, so I never knew who I was "up against".

One of the things I found very interesting during the show was that Moana never talked about how she felt about Travis - she only talked about how Travis made her feel about herself. That spoke volumes to me.

I was delighted he picked Sarah. Moana is a beautiful woman (didn't much care for the black nails last night, though) and no doubt she had very intense feelings for Travis and they had a wonderful time together in paris. Like Travis said during the rose ceremony, though, I'm just not sure what the future held for them.

I knew it

My mom works with a gal who is neighbors and friends with Sarah...

apparently they are still together and are seen around town at the gym and hanging out together from what I hear...all my family lives down there. But that could just be gossip too...

I am also wondering about post show interviews, how can they just leave us hangin like this??? :confused3

I was pretty disappointed too that there was not a "bringing them back together" show since they are not allowed to see each other after the taping of the last show until it airs. Do you think they didn't make them stay apart because they live so close together? :scratchin

I saw this show on the previous Bachelor shows and one of the couples that were not allowed to see each other pretty much broke up right after they were reunited because she watched the show and saw him sleeping and kiss all over the other girls. :lmao:

Moana, really, really scares me. I got a "Fatal Attraction" vibe from her.

Sure would be nice to have one of the couples stay together. I think I heard 7 have not and only 2 have. Not a great percentage!

On last night's show, she did have a habit of twisting questions around and spinning them to be about how everything made her feel. It sounded like she feel in love with the moment, not so much with Travis.

She's very well-spoken and could spit out some pretty eloquent things when asked. Well, usually when she was asked. Guess she couldn't think fast enough at the dinner table. :crazy2:

I liked her too. I wanted to her to win, but after the meeting with the parents, I didn't care anymore who won. That was a very strange reaction that she had.

Kudos to ABC's editing! They sure had me fooled!

According to her friend...they had 3 meets arranged by ABC..I think they have done this with all the others too

Was it just me or did Travis' spiel to Sarah in the final rose ceremony seem horribly edited and choppy? It started out OK, but then when he said "But...I have to be completely honest with you"...which he immediately followed with "I choose you". It just didn't flow correctly. Then after that it seemed like bits and pieces all strung together rather than the normal flow of conversation.

It had to have been the most un-romantic final rose ceremony ever. But who knows...maybe they'll last since they didn't declare undying love for each other on national TV!

My DH just watches bits and pieces of these shows, but he saw her "exit speech" last night and said, "Those women are so unstable. One of these days, they're going to upset the wrong one, and she's going to commit suicide over this stupid show." I said, "Maybe so, and it wouldn't surprise me if it would be that one right there."

For what's been touted all along as the most romantic Bachelor ever, it sure was anti-climatic. I just sat there wondering if that was all and apparently it is.

For my money, the most romantic one ever was Byron and Mary. When he proposed to her in spanish so her parents would understand then cried when she said yes I was crying right along with him! Glad they are still together.

I don't think she is that eloquent. She seems to say big impressive words, but she isn't really saying anything at all. "I look at him and see my soul shining back at me"....."He gets me"....it sounds nice, but wth does it really mean? Those are fancy thoughts that don't really mean anything.

I totally agree with you. I kept saying she was talking out of her rear end last night. Saying a whole lot o' nothing.
