Where exactly is the finish line? Inside Epcot? Near what? I can't tell from the course map.

DH wants to come with our kids to the finish but it will be very challenging for him to do alone with a 9 month old, a 3yo, and a 4yo. He needs to get somewhere with his little crew and stay put because it will be hard for him to move around with everyone in tow (I do it everyday, ten times a day, but I'm a professional, lol).

I told him it is fine if he just stays at our campsite with the kids instead of coming to the race but he really wants to see at least the finish. Any tips?

Hi Princess Runners! I am in. Staying at ASMovies, and am super excited for another fun WISH-filled race!

Maryjo - I have taken a cab to the start of a race in the past. You can call the cab company and set up a pickup for the time of your choosing - the Cab company phone number is in the check-in materials at the Disney resorts.

Syko,, thanks for the info. You are so sweet.

The parking lot is good. It is as close as DH can get to the quiet of our minivan... then wait until the last minute to bust out with Huey, Dewey, and Louie. I have never been away from my baby for more than an hour and fifteen minutes so I am more worried about DH handling the kids than I am about finishing the race!

There are characters at the end in the reunion area, right? Characters for my three characters!

My name is Debbie and we're staying at POFQ for the first time, then switching to BWV on Monday after the race! My teammate is my DH. We're going with another couple. This is the first marathon for all of us.

Hi Mary Jo. I also have a dh and 3 and 5 year old who will be joining me. I hope I can still get to bed early.


I am booked at akv kidani and I will not have a car. This is my first race. I am starting to worry about getting to the race ontime. What if no cabs are available etc etc.....all the worrying is starting.

I have only been to wdw 2x once at owk and 1 at cbr. I am thinking of switching to ssr or okw just because of transportation. That way I can take the bus and don`t worry. I would really love to stay at akv but....will I get to the race ontime...or at all lol

I also have family with me staying at AKV and worry whether i can sleep while they are awake and am worried about getting a taxi in the am.
I did do a WDW half marathon a couple years ago and also the Miniie 15K so am a little familiar with WDW races.
I planning on getting a room at POR so i could sleep early, wake up early and if necessary walk to the race!

So i would be willing to split a taxi or split a POR room with other women.(Treehugnmama + Disney-mama+?)

I will be walking at the back of the pack but was able to meet the pace of both previous races.
I just wish i could remember which princess I selected when i mailed in the application last year!

If you are talking about a taxi share from akl YES!!! I think swim-mom and I are sharing a taxi too but I am not sure as I haven't been around in a long time to confirm.

POQ room is a great idea! I know me though and I wouldn't sleep if my little guys were somewhere else. As much as I always say I would love a night away the night before the race is not a good idea for me I would probobly be up all night.

I will also be at the back of the pack...my first race. I did my 7 miles today and I feel like anymore steps and I would have major blister issues. This is the farthest I have ever walked at one time.

So the race that I was considering doing instead of the Princess is now full. I need to talk to my mom about this race and see if she wants to take this trip with me. I may end up doing this after all!

My DDs don't read the DIS, I know hard to believe.........

But we will be coming down for the Marathon, just booked POR. Please add "jwwi's daughters" to the list. I am so incredibly proud of my girls, the older daughter has been doing Weight Watchers and working out like crazy, she looks amazing!

I tried to sign up to volunteer for the race, but all spots, including the waitlist are filled.

Did 6.2 miles outside today, my longest run to date. It wasn't the best "feeling" run, but I got it done and at the end felt as though I could go further. I just never really got my groove, to make it feel as good as I wanted too... and I screwed up my Nike+ and somehow ended the run at 3 miles (that's what I get for trying to change the music mid run!).. but it felt good to go that far, and I as the next weeks go I'll be adding another mile to my long Sunday runs...
Hope training is going well for my fellow princesses!

Hi! My name is Marsha and I will be running with my two daughters, Joslyn and Janie. We will be at POFQ.

In May 2009, I was a couch potato. Then I registered for the Princess Half-marathon and started walking.

Yesterday, I ran 7.25 miles in 78 minutes! I can hardly believe it!

My parents and DH want to cheer us on during the race. What advice can you give to them...where to go and how to get there, etc. Are they allowed in the MK to watch the race?

everyone is sounding so empowered add me to that list. I am walking and I thought my long walk was 7 miles but after walking 6 3/4 i found out i only needed to do 6 that should make this weeks long walk a breeze.


I am training in cold brrr weather. Can anyone tell me what to wear for the race? I am overweight and unfortunatley my local running store doesn't carry plus size. I have my wish hat and shirt. I have my socks and shoes but that is all do I really need a long sleeve shirt? I don't know what to bring with me either.

Hi, to answer a couple questions -

get some "throw away gear" -- it's cold at the start, and you are kinda hanging around for about 1/2 hr at least before the race, last year i had a trashbag on. LOL then , you have to walk for what seems like the death-row walk to the corrals.. lol.. and then wait more... i am planning on having a sweatshirt or something over my top, that i can ditch later - and maybe a cheap blanket for my legs -- once the race starts you can toss your items on the ground anywhere - the Disney CM's pick it up, and it gets donated to a local shelter..

As for a meet - yes, there will be a get together/dinner at POR food court on Sat. at 5pm. There is a make your own pasta bar there - about $10.
