Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

Will the Ewoks have meet and greets? Not the Chipmunk Ewoks... the real deal!! :dogdance:

I saw pictures of them in past SWW but didn't see anything about them last year. Are they one of the popular greets? How long do you think their line would be?

Meeting Lord Vader was a real treat :hyper: that day I only wore my Mara Jade T-Shirt instead of dressing up. And after we took the photo Lord Vader :darth: promptly stomped his foot and pointed fiercely for me to leave, seems he didn't like my Mara Jade Shirt:rotfl: Here is the picture from our :darth: meeting http://imgur.com/CnkCq06

Ok, I'm seriously jealous now! I have a weird crush on Vader...

The Ewoks did meet & greet last year and if my memory serves me correctly, one of the little guys met in the same spot where Chewbacca met.

And a quick update:
Straight from the HUB DHS hours have been updated, as we thought DHS will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday during SWW from 8am to 10pm with one Fantasmic! at 9pm
I checked on the regular WDW site and the times have not been updated yet.

Hi everyone! I plan to by an AP this year and what better excuse to make the most of it than SWW right? lol I am thinking of going down Thurs May 22nd and leaving Memorial Day the 26th. I would probably do DHS Friday and Sunday...is 2 days enough? Or maybe park hop around on Saturday too. I am interesting in the meet & greets especially. I know that weekend is going to be busy but it's a long weekend so I only need to take 1 day off of work lol

If you see the first post on this thread there's a link to Kenny the Pirate's page on SWW characters, it'll give you an iea on where they are and how popular. 2 days for characters seem fine, just make sure you get to the park early so you can take advantage of better weather in the mornings

Thanks! I just read through the whole thread and saw the links. I'm not too worried about the heat, I was just there in the middle of July :crazy2: lol

Looks like we'll be there for the whole first weekend

Basic plan (suggestions welcome) are to do as much as possible on Friday and then whatever we missed/ want to do again on Saturday and Sunday morning (PH in the afternoons).

DD age 14 loves Star Wars (wants to dress up as Sabe - suggestions welcome!) - she wants to meet all of the characters but none of the folks she won't recognize so we're off the hook for celebrity autographs. Also is uninterested in the talks. Dh is also a Star Wars fan. I like the movies but I think on this one I'm along for the ride and organizing. It's going to be so much fun!!

Wow only one Fantasmic.... well I guess so many of us wait for Hoopla which was 8 last year they figured that two is a waste.... that and it looks like they want all of us out at 10 PM! Problem is now, you have to make a choice, Hoopla or Fanstasmic, cause I can't see someone trying to do both and getting any decent seats at Fantasmic!

As always you are the best, thanks Yulilin for the update! You help make planning fun and productive!

It's always better to have more than one day. Just try and get to the park early and you'll be able to get more done

Yulilin, your daughter's dresses are FANTASTIC! :cheer2: All the pics were great! Love the album, some how I missed seeing from last years thread!
Thanks, she's actually considering making her own character this year, or maybe she will just get something from Her Universe

Maybe they will add another F! or move the time for the one they have

We took our DS to LegoLand in ATLANTA, GA today because it was Star Wars themed. We had so much fun taking pictures with the characters- Darth Vader, Stormtroppers, Chubaka, Boba Fett, and many more. I couldn't help but ask them if they were going to Disney's Star Wars Weekend and they told me they are part of the 501st Legion and they go where they are asked. They said some of them will be there but not all of them. They were all super nice and really took the time to take pictures and meet the kids. We had the best day and it just made us even more excited to go to Star Wars weekend in May!!!

You've got me really excited by reading through this thread. My girlfriend and I went to weekend 2 last year and had a fantastic time. Plan on doing the same again this year. Hyperspace Hoopla was fantastic and so was all the character meet and greets.

Yes the 501st and Rebel Legion take part in the Star Wars Parade but they are not able to stay, in costume, inside the park so you can't take pictures with members of these 2 groups.
They gather backstage before the parade, march, and then exit thru the Star Tours gate.
All the characters that you meet inside the park are Disney employees, they stay in character the whole time so don't even think of asking Vader to sign your autograph book with a pink pen or Aurra Sing to smile for the camera.
501st does a really great job year round with different charity groups and events.

Yay!! Once you love this event you get hooked. And who can resist Snig and Oopla's Hyperspace Hoopla :woohoo:

I  the men and women of the 501st, they are a real treat. They do all their appearances for FREE... even when they appear in the SWW Disney motorcades! They pay for their own hotel, their own theme park tickets, everything! They march in the SWW Disney Motorcades because the love Star Wars... no money or benefits ever exchanges hands.

Gotta give those people props! Those costumes are insanely expensive to make/acquire for the quality they are required to maintain to be part of the 501st and they do not earn a penny from any event they attend to compensate cost!

They are AMAZINGLY nice, wonderful people! If you ever get a chance to chat with them, DO IT!

You mean to tell me Star Wars Weekends isn't on the week of May the Fourth? And here I was planning my next trip around that date because May the Fourth. Back to the drawing board.
