yeah, the stage for hoopla is like a high school stage, if they had a spot like on the stage/setup at the castle it would be ok. Best would be just use the fantasmic area, that that would be probably way too big, but no unhappy guests!

That is a great idea!

What time do the busses from the resorts (AKL) start running? My DS wants to do JTA and we won't have a car this year.

We got to the stop at Kidani at 0710 on Friday. The bus arrived within 15 minutes, and we were in the gates at 0745.

And the park had been open for a while by then.

Well, I said I would post some photos, so I guess I'll do a write up of day one accompanied with photographs XD

6/7/11 was when I got my confirmation email for registering for CVI. That was well over a year in advance to the celebration. Was that earlier than they usually released the info? That was our first celebration. Yes, it would be nice if it were this year. It was much more fun than I ever expected it to be.

CV was announced about two years out, but the location had not yet been determined - I think they did a bidding process like a Worldcon. CVI was announced in June 2011 for August 2012, so 14 months. CEII was announced at CVI for less than a year later, which is this July.

There _could_ be a CVII in 2014, or they could wait until 2015. Or put it off indefinitely. Depends on how Disney, who is now in charge, wants to handle them going forward.

anyone who plans on waiting for ray park next weekend keep in mind the times people are getting there seems earlier and earlier.. we got there at about 2:15 on sunday morning and it seemed like the last ticket was handed out to people who got there a little bit before 3... i dont know if davis being there next weekend might help the line..

The indefinitely has crossed our mind as well after taking animation in a different direction. Hopefully it will continue. :)

Back to SWW, I think this weekend 1 went very well. Just downloaded all the pictures to the computer. Looking forward to the next 3 weekends. Especially next weekend with Warwick Davis. He's such a great guy. Hoping to catch Visit to the Maul show if they have it again next weekend since we missed it this weekend.

So here is a bunch of photos from day 1, enjoy!

So our day on the 17th started quite early, like 4:30 am early. When the alarm went off we peeled ourselves out of bed and got ready for the day, on our way to the park we swung by McDonalds for a quick breakfast and we were in line for autograph fastpasses for Ashley Eckstein by 6:00 am. They seemed to give us our fastpasses quite late on the first day, but none the less by 7:45 we had entered the park, first making a quick stop to pick up the autograph book, then dashed to Darth Vader's line.

Vader was impressed with my outfit for the day

But he wasn't too amused with my friend, Dani, asking for a hug and calling him Ani XD. He snatched her lightsaber from her and pushed it back in before posing for a photo.

After seeing Darth Vader, we were told the Fett's would be coming out soon, so we went ahead and jumped in to that line, the first Fett to come out was Jango.

Dani wasn't amused with being put into the cuff stand thingy XD After that we looped back in to the line and waited for Boba Fett to come out next.

We next went to check out Darth Maul's line, but his line was closed and we were advised to head back over around ten, so we hit the Streets of America to go check out who was meeting at the Jedi Council and it was Anakin, so without hesitation we hopped in to that line!

After that, something kind of funny happened, there was a Clone Trooper surrounded by kids and their parents waiting to jump in for a photo and a autograph, so we just observed for a second, no intention of getting a photo till later. Well, this Clone Trooper caught a glimpse of my outfit completely ignored everyone waiting to meet him and came over to give me a high five and then posed for a photo. A couple of parents gave me a dirty look on that one, but hey, I didn't even do anything except stand there XD

After that encounter we headed back towards Darth Maul's line and this time we were able to get in. And oh gosh is that particular friend with Maul intense, lets be honest, he freaked us out quite a bit.

At this point of the day, everyone's lines were closed because of the motorcade and since Chewbacca's line was in the shade, we decided to sit the 50 minutes before he came back to set to wait and see him, gave us a chance to relax and get a cold drink. Once Chewie came out, as soon as he was about to hug me, he noticed my outfit and made a big deal about it, I upset the wookie, whoops! (I did end up receiving a hug eventually though.)

After Chewie, we got word that Queen Amidala's line was very short, so we went and saw her next.

Then headed towards the blister pack meet to find out when Ahsoka was coming out and ended up meeting Captain Rex

Since we had awhile till Ahsoka was going to be back out again, we decided to get lunch and then head to the tent and join that meet and greet line. We encountered a Storm Trooper on the way and I was able to catch a quick photo with Aurra Sing, she fled before Dani was able to get one XD

When we reached the tent we were able to meet Luke, we just missed him with the droids, but we still had some time to see them later.

By this time it was time to head back to the blister pack meet in order to meet Ahsoka who was with Commander Cody, she kept telling me how she kept seeing this guy in the suit (Vader) and others wearing similar apparel but it looked much better on a woman XD. She then went on saying how he seemed very familiar but couldn't place him. (Being a huge fan of, The Clone Wars, this broke my heart a bit lol.)

We then decided to check out the Chip and Dale Ewok meet, the line was pretty short since they weren't coming back out for ten minutes, so we hopped in the line. When they saw my outfit, they both cowered in fear, Chip eventually got over it, not the same case for Dale.

At this point it was time to go meet Ashley Eckstein, she was such a sweetie and just so wonderful!

Once we had met Ashley we headed back to the tent in hope of catching Leia or the droids, went through the line once and was informed that R2D2 would be out soon, so we picked up our name tags that we previously ordered and jumped back in the line to see R2D2, when we got back to the front, Leia was with R2D2 so we saw her again.

After that, we headed back out to the hat stage to get a spot before the hoopla. At six we were about ten rows back and could see just fine. After the hoopla we headed back to the tent and I picked up the Rogue Squadron dress so I could wear it on day two, went over to Star Tours and then finally left Hollywood Studios. We were at the park for 15ish hours and we were exhausted. But none the less we had a great day and was ready to do it all again in only a matter of hours.

Tomorrow, I will be heading to WDW to start my SWW adventure. A few days in the parks first, then a big Friday hanging at the studios, followed by the 24 hours at MK, and then, I march with the 501st on Saturday.

Anyone looking for me Friday - I will be wearing a blue shirt with "Bast Alpha Garrison" in red on the front and a a Stormtrooper riding an alligator on the back. I will also be wearing a khaki hat with the 501st logo on it (red circle with white Stormtrooper in it). Stop me and say hello.

On Saturday, in the parade, I will be wearing an white officer's jacket, likely near the front of the parade. I'll be the big guy in the whit jacket - looking like a marshmallow, sort of.

Cool pics and awesome outfit geeky. I saw you two when I was in line for Vader. I was the 2nd person in line with my shirt of Vader holding up a boombox.

It looks like you had a great day Geeky :thumbsup2 did you wear the Rouge Squadron dress on Saturday, I think I saw you...

We fly in on Saturday afternoon, is there any point to going over to the Studios Saturday night? or will we have already missed everything? Also, what time should we arrive Sunday morning? I'd love any advice without having to read 190 pages of this thread. :goodvibes Thank you!!!! :grouphug:

Thanks Geeyk Girl!! Please post some pics from Day 2 if you can! (I wanna see that dress!!)

Tigrlvspooh- The Hyperspace Hoopla is at 8pm at the hat stage (Also viewable from the AI screen). You could come over to see that if you want. As for Sunday, if you are planning on just character autographs, you will want to be there before park opening (scheduled for 8am) so you can get into the Vader, Chewbacca or Jedi Mickey & friends line first, since they are the longest.

If you are looking for celeb autographs, it sounds like folks have been getting there between 3 am and 4 am to get in the respective FP/wristband line. But I imagine folks will start talking soon about who is going when and for whom :thumbsup2

Thanks so much! I think we will forgo the autographs, my boys are huge Star Wars fans but they would be worthless the rest of the day if I woke them that early. I would LOVE to meet Warwick Davis (I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE Harry Potter fan) is there any chance to see him in any other ways than the autograph time??? Is he in the Hoopla? Maybe I should do the 3:00 AM line all by myself?? Oh I would love to meet him!!!! :lovestruc

You can see him during the parade, the Stars of the Saga show and his one man show: An Ewok's Tale, My Short Story
