Interesting. What if you waited all your 4 hours in line for the ride and didn't get on??
That’s a great question though I’m not sure they will allow the ride line to get to the four hour point if they are being more restrictive. The window of time matches what I’ve been hearing. This is the first time I’ve heard of a hard sweep though.

Sounds like chaos to me. It will be so hard for them to keep track of wristbands!

I'm thinking they will only let as many into the land as can experience the ride once in those 4 hours. I forget the projected capacity, but let's say 1500/hr × 4 = 6000. I have no idea how crowded the space would feel with 6000 people, that seems like too many to me though. Maybe they'll keep it to 3-4000 or something.

getting people out will be the hardest part. If I were going with that procedure I would time my visit to the attraction or even to eat , close to the sweep time...

The sweep sounds like it might be a nightmare... I’m kind of glad I can’t afford to be there for the initial chaos.

I mean, they do a hard sweep of MK for the parties - I can totally see the issues with a sweep coming from guests who flatly don't want to/refuse to leave or who try and milk more time by getting in line at a merch stand or QS location...but from a logistics/security standpoint the process would be fairly straightforward. The hard sweeps might be part of the reason why there are ONLY QS locations in SWGE....QS food can be carried out with you if you "happen" to wait until the last minute to get something to eat in the land.

That was what in envisioned when the news of reserved times came out. I thought 4 hour blocks with an hour in between to clear out guests/let those last riders ride. I think it's the best way to ensure that everyone gets a chance who has a reservation. It *should* give people a chance to eat, ride, shop. I would love a FP w/in that time block so that it spreads the crowd more evenly. Like a reservation w/in the reservation so to speak.

Unless you're at Ogas at DL, can't carry your alcoholic drink out of there.
I mean. Yes it's doable, there's always people that manage to stay for the parties , I'm sure it'll be the same here. Wondering if it's in 4 hour slots, that should be enough time to do the ride (if they manage to cap the amount of people properly) and try some food and shop. I know 4 hours wouldn't be enough for me, but for the average visitor it might be fine

True, but what are the chances they'd stop serving alcohol at some point during this time frame to allow people to finish up their beverages and still leave at the end of their time block? It's not out of the question if lingerers prove to be an issue.

I'm with you that I could easily spend multiple days just in SWGE, but at least in the beginning I appreciate that they are making efforts to ensure a higher quantity of people get in for at least a little while, rather than having to shut large amounts of people out completely due to capacity. It's there now and will be for many years to come, so I'm already planning a return trip in a few years to be able to spend more time in the land.
