***Official*** Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Information Thread *** Contains SPOILERS ***

Seems this is much more telling in how things might go at WDW. Glad to have this to watch and better anticipate how our September trip may go.

True, it would but I would not stand in the line either way. I'd be aiming for the fastpass.

Essentially here are the options:

FastPass
- Rope Drop
- 5 or 6 hour wait or longer
- Fast Pass at a convenient time

No Fast Pass
- Rope Drop
- 3 or 4 hour wait (assuming the virtual queue would limit the line)

No matter what, I would never wait 3-4 hours for any ride. I'd have to rope drop to ride given the current situation. Where as, if there is fast pass, at DLR I'd still have to rope drop (because FP are first come, first serve) but at least I could have options on a shorter wait then no matter having to wait for hours to get on the ride.

At WDW, the fastpasses would be just like FOP in terms of availability. I would plan my MFSR FP later in the trip for a later 60 day window FP, so like day 5 or 6 of my stay. Again, not the case without fastpass, which I have to get up at 3:30am in the morning like runDisney to avoid an extreme wait.

I wonder if you can join a boarding group while in SWGE.

So, say if you are waiting in line at MFSR and would like a break outside of SWGE then come back later in the afternoon. I wonder if you could get a spot in the virtual queue while in SWGE?

How does that work?... can hang out in MK while you wait for your boarding group?
I guess that's possible in DL, probably not in WDW?

yeah, I guess that is what you have to do. When you click to join on the virtual queue it will give you a range of when they expect you to be notified of your boarding call - in this case it has been saying "Late morning" and then you can just hang out until you get a push notification (or I guess if you see the notification board) and then my understanding is you have 2 hours to return to enter the land once your boarding group is notified

so in WDW you can hang out in DHS in other areas of the park or even, I guess, leave the park as long as you can get back within 2 hours of when you are notified.

But I guess don't get in standby lines that are longer than 2 hours (which will be interesting to see how standby lines are in DHS starting on the 29th when they change the tiering - as now more rides are Tier 1 FP so I woudl think they would have more spreadout but in total longer stand by queues)

So 90 minutes after opening, the ride wait time has settled at 60 minutes.

So, there never was a 4 hour line? Is this basically proof that they purposely overinflated the wait time?

more of "guess wait times by where the last guest is in line" once the land closed to capacity they were able to gauge the line better. Also many went there first thing and now they are doing other things

But they should have been able to better gauge that since they knew how many people were in the land (capacity is twice the reservation period capacity). It never went beyond 90 minutes during the reservation period and those 90 minute waits were for very short periods of time. The capacity of the ride is around 1500 per hour. For a 4 hour wait, ALL 6000 guests would have had to get in the line all at once, leaving the rest of the land completely empty. Very unrealistic.

Interestingly, the OC Register first posted an article that said "crowds remain light on the first day of no reservations for Star wars Land" and then later reposted an "UPDATE: Crowds fill Galaxy's Edge to capacity immediately on first day without reservations leading to hours long wait times."

Seems Disney wanted the second headline, so they manufactured it themselves.

The rest of the park seems quite UNCROWDED, so it doesn't appear that MORE guests showed up this morning that usual, but they instead are mostly concentrated in the land.

And it will remain that way, mostly, until August 19th/September 3rd.

Knowing how the front of the line CM gauges lines I can tell you they don't really base the day to day capacity on those numbers it's basically "from this point you will wait..."

Honestly, I won't be surprised when Disney lifts the Deluxe DL blockout early. They have to be sweating these low attendance numbers. Unless they really DO care about the overcrowding situation and guest satisfaction. (Fat chance though)

The line was backed all the way up to ROTR when the land first opened this morning. So they were making an educated guess on what the wait time actually was.

I also saw where they opened some gate to extend the line for overflow that showed backstage. Not sure if it was true or not. But I am not sure how I feel about that
