So I mostly a lurker here... this might even be my first post. I got my acceptance call a couple days ago for Security Background Checks Coordinator. I asked to be placed in consideration for the housing lottery but after reading some reviews and talking to some PIs currently down there, I thought better of it. I've found a place that rents out vacation townhouses which works out better for price, proximity, saftey, and accomadations. Good luck to everyone, hope to see you all down there.

Honestly, its the way to go if you love Disney! What day do you start? The date is Jan. 13th! You may not get to help plan but you might be able to peak in or work as an assistant, lol! I dont know how they work the internships in the department! :cool1:

Would you mind sharing some information about this place? I know there are some people here that are looking for housing, including me, out of the Disney lottery! thank you if you are able to!

Hey guys! I also put my name in for the Northbridge lottery but that is my second choice. Does anyone have any info on apartments close to Disney?

Hey Tricky4L. . . Bimini Bay? I searched it but did not find much, is there a link? That sounds awesome, b\c I have been searching for furnished, 2 bedroom, gated community rentals and I am not having much luck.

Thanks guys :)

I just found out that I've been offered two positions...one in Communications Planning and one in Guest Relations! I have until Monday to decide....any opinions on which one I should accept?

And for those of you who haven't heard... don't give up! I was honestly thinking I hadn't been accepted at all until today.

Congratulations DisneyElite! I have no idea what either internship does, but let us know what you do choose. :)

Congrats DisneyElite!!! Thats so awesome :) What is your major area of study? I would say guest relations, but I have no idea what either does! Good Luck deciding

When Disney calls you to offer a position, is it acceptable to tell them you will call them back just so you can check on some things. I know...who in the world would think about not taking an internship. Im just curious, because the pay and the no benefits could be a problem for some people! This is just a hypothetical, what would you do question :)

Hello!

My name's Emily and this is my first time posting. I've been to the site before since it came up in my google searches under Disney Professional Internships and I joined since well, im a disney freak.

On to my question...

I'm looking for a Summer PI so I was wondering if anyone has had a Summer PI, when did you apply? I am currently trying to fill out my resume since i've read that's what I need to send. Did anyone else send anything different? When did you hear notification back, and was it a "Hi, we received your application" or an interview since I see people have mixed responses based on their time frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If it helps, I am going to apply for an Architecture PI or along the lines of Design with the Imagineers. And from my research I do know that it will be in CA, not Orlando. But if im wrong, again please help me!

I've wanted this for so long and now I finally have a summer available!

Thank You.:wave2:

Hey all!

I will be doing the Ops Management Internship at MK attractions! I worked at Fantasyland Ops for my CP so it's like coming back home- Very, excited! Congrats to everyone!

I asked if I could have a few days to think about all of the information they gave me when they called with my offer. Obviously not everyone has been reading the discussion boards like we have and may not know about the pay/lack of benefits/housing/etc. My recruiter had no problem with it and asked me to call him back when/if I made a decision before such and such a date, at which time he would call me. In total he gave me three days to make up my mind.

CONGRATS!! I got offered (and accepted) a position with communication planning. It's up to you, but in case they didn't clarify, guest relations is a lot more face to face, everyday contact with park guests and communication planning is a lot of cascading and coordinating communication for cast members (newsletters, updating the portal, taking photos of events going on in the area, etc..)

Did they tell you what park/area you'd be in if you accepted comm. planning? I still don't know and I accepted the position 2 weeks ago!

Congratulations on everyone who are getting their internships! I am still waiting to hear on mine. I also applied for operations management and had my interview a while ago and still have not heard anything. I was wondering Damiss, when did you get the news you were hired? This waiting game is tough, good luck to those who are still waiting like me!!

My ceremony is at the wedding pavilion and our pre-reception is going to be between the Sorcerer Mickey hat icon and the Chinese Theatre in MGM-Studios. Our reception will be inside the Magic of Animation building!

Hey BeenieFL!

I got the news on Nov. 14th. It is super stressful waiting...good luck and let us know what happens!

I looked into Bimini Bay after reading a few post but how excatly will i know if this place is any better. I am not sure exactly sure how the Northbridge lottery is run but i did ask for it when i recieved the call.
