SOoo i got a call this morning from Casting, and was told that I had two "exciting offers", but had to fax a copy of the WDW application with a signature on it, then I would receive a call back with the offer details... That was before 11 this morning, it was faxed at 12:30 or so.

it's almost 5, no call. ARG!!! Come on Disney!

This waiting game- sucks!!

How about you all, any news?

Hi! Congrats to you!!
I've been looking online at just about every apartment listing there is- but I'm going down in December to try to find a place. There were a bunch of new buildings going up all along Reams Road- but I can't find the listing for any of them, I don't know if they're done or what. I just REALLY don't want to have to sit in tourist traffic... so I don't know. I wish they'd sponsor housing for all positions!!!

Let us know what you find! I would love to go in December to look for apartments, but I don't think I can make it I've been looking at every listing/apartment website available, but it's so hard without knowing the area!!!

I will let you know! I've been using google earth, (haha) to try and determine distances etc, but I can't wait to be down there and actually get to look around. Are you in a Mgt role as well?? Good luck with your search!

Hey! They called on a Thursday morning, and I had to fax something to them that day. I did that within an hour, but I ended up sending an email on Saturday to verify receipt (figure out what the hold up was!!)- and then within a few hours they called and gave me until Monday afternoon to decide. Hopefully it won't be too long for you!!

Hey everyone!
I came across that McKinley suites website as I've been looking for something that could be short-term (instead of having a 12 month lease if I don't want to stick around in Orlando after the PI,) and that would be furnished (so I don't have to buy a bunch of furniture if I'm not going to stick around!)- and Monterey Lake or Westood looks like it would be great! Portifino is farther out but without a roommate would be the way I'd go, I think. Is anyone looking for a roommate for a 2 bedroom in a place like those??

As far as apartments go, I'm currently looking to get a condo in the Orlando area, and if it goes through, I'll need to find a roommate. More info to come if everything works out.

Yeah, I think we were all given the same start date unless an extension was granted!!

I am interviewing for the Career Start Program.. Do I have a chance of getting an operations job? Or do the CPs get first pick of the jobs?

OK, this may be a very silly question, but I don't have a very clear vision of what the internship program entails, exactly. I know it depends greatly on the department, but is this going to be a typical 8-5 M-F job? I know it says on the website that I am guaranteed at least 30 hours/week, but I really hope I get at least 40! I am also assuming that the dress is typical business attire, but I want to make sure so I am properly prepared before I leave for Florida! I have been assuming that it is an 8-5 workday M-F, but I wanted to double check!

Hey Tia! Based on my CP experience and knowledge the internship or anything at Disney is never a typical 9-5 M-F type of job. It does depend where you will be working and what role. For instance working at Magic Kingdom I could work til 3am because of extra magic hours versus Animal Kingdom closing at 7pm. They will most certainly schedule you for the required 30 hours a week, but for the most part, you will work more than that!
Also, Disney will probably be sending a booklet on Disney Look Guidelines which states what costumed and non-costumed cast members can wear. But I am shopping for business attire, it's like i need a whole new wardrobe!

I am also looking for a roomate or roomates! I'm down here now on the CP, so I am available to check places out in advance of signing a lease. A 6 month lease is fine with me, but I am planning on staying down here after my PI so I would also be interested in a 12 month lease. Feel free to PM me if you are interested!

I've been looking into McKinley suites as well. I asked them how far Portofino was from Disney, and they said it's only a 15 minute drive. I am thinking that is where I'm going to live, but am going to Orlando in a few weeks to check out some properties. Hope that helps!

I don't know why people want to stay in McKinley suites; they are too expensive for my taste.

They only look expensive -- they're completely furnished and include all utilities (including cable and internet). Plus, since it's corporate/temporary housing, there's no short-term lease fees.

Hey! That's what I was told as well. I thought they were way over priced until I realized what was included. I'm headed down there around the 16th to check it out, along with a list of other places, too.
For some reason I can't log into the Cast Portal anymore, does anyone still have access? I wanted to browse the Cast Classifides and see if anyone is looking for a roommate for the PI, but I think I need to get on property and sign up again!
