I always get mine there. You get a voucher that you have to activate when you go to a park.

Where at the park will I have to activate it? Can I add the DDE at the same place?

You can activate at the Guest Relations at DDD and buy a DDE card at the same time. That's what I did this past trip just a few days ago......

What suevee said. You can get your AP at guest relations at any of the parks and I think you can get the DDE there too. They just recently changed that for DDE (I think).

Here's a question I don't think I've seen before:

Does anybody know what types of exercise equipment are available in the SoG exercise room? My husband and I are hoping for an elliptical . . . just wondering. :)

Thanks!

Last time I was there I remember treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and some weight machines that I don't really know what they were. I don't remember how many of each piece of equipment there was, but I want to say at least 2 (but again I'm not sure).

I have a quick question- we stayed there last summer and had 2 connecting rooms but my parents went with us. My question is can we fit 6 of us in one room if there is one in a crib? TIA!!

Hi  Fellow military members/retired mil/DOD employees!

We just stayed at SOG last week and loved it. I totally dig Disney et al but it was really nice to get away from it all and chill in a more mellow atmosphere. We've already booked another trip for May :rotfl:

The one thing I didn't completely love about the whole WDW experience was the food. DH and I eat fairly healthily and that was hard to do in MK (which is mainly where we were) and even at SOG. I don't mind junk food every so often but IMO it just wasn't good junk food :confused3. Mangino's was great the night we ate there- our server Tito was fabulous with our 2 yo and the food was great- but italian is kind of heavy, kwim? So we can't do that too much. The buffet at the other restaurant...:sad2: Not so great.

So I think when we return in May we're going to try to provide for ourselves as much as possible with sandwiches etc, cook oatmeal in the laundry room microwave for breakfast . We'll probably do some ADRs- though with a 2 yo those will be somewhat limited. We'll be hitting Epcot as well as MK and AK so hopefully there are more food choices there than just burgers, hotdogs, chicken nuggets, and those small, tired little salads made of iceberg and two tomato halves .

Sorry for beating around the bush but my question is regarding the restaurant downstairs that will pack your lunch for the parks....can anyone tell me what those meals generally contain? What your choices are? Has anyone done this?

Also, if anyone can recommend a good, easy-to-get-to, restaurant off SOG I'd really appreciate it (besides Ohana). Or if anyone has any good, semi-healthy, do-it-youself food ideas then that would be appreciated, too. TIA!

Oh...the one food thing I did like? Starbucks at SOG :lovestruc :woohoo:  :cheer2:

Inda: I think you can actually pick and choose what you want packed in the picnic lunches. At least that's the impression I got.

Abaranold: with 4 kids I personally wouldn't do it. the rooms aren't THAT much bigger.

the two queen beds will fit 4 with the pull out a fifth person, but the crib would most likely take away a lot of space by the table. so much so that the crib may not fit over there when the pullout is open, and there really isn't anywhere else to put it.

Someone asked this question a while back. Unfortunately, the search tool isn't working. :confused3 SOG standard rooms have a maximum capacity of 5 guests. If I remember correctly, that includes anyone in a crib, so you wouldn't be allowed to have 6 in one room. If they would allow it, the new section would work out best. The couch turns into a daybed, rather than a pull-out, so there is more room available for a crib. Call or email SOG for a definitive answer.

Disney has made small strides in trying to improve the healthiness of the food options, but they do have a long way to go. Putting a hot dog on a sorta whole wheat bun is just silly and not really addressing the issue. However, if you make an effort, you can find some food that will help maintain your well being . Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavillion at EPCOT has some nice healthy choices. Also consider buffet restaurants in the parks. They have a lot of variety, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Crystal Palace at MK is pretty good, plus your 2 yr. old might enjoy eating with Pooh & Friends. AK food options have improved recently. Tusker House offers African-inspired food, while Yak & Yeti is Asian. Go to www.allearsnet.com and check out the menus for more ideas.

Okay, two in each bed, one on the pull out couch and one crib will work just fine. Last year we went with our twins and had two cribs on the sliding glass door wall. Our son was on the pull out and space was fine. :thumbsup2

Can't say that I have every looked... I have walked by the exercise room... honestly besides the miles of walking the most exercise I get is lifting my glass of wine....:lmao: :drinking1

:lmao: So true, though I applaud their efforts. I get why they sell mainly "junk"...people go on vacation, they want to eat junk food. I can't blame them a bit for that, live it up! Unfortunately, I just feel :enter puke icon here: after a day or so of eating it. Ugh.

We ate our first lunch at CP for this past trip- and will probably try to do a dinner there next time. If I had known it might be the last healthy meal I'd get I would have eaten more of it :p. The other suggestions are great and I'll look into them. I've been perusing the menus on all ears and have come up with a few things but so many of them you have to travel far so that won't work if DS is in the middle of a post-Disney meltdown :scared: or just flat-out exhausted . Thanks for the ideas :thumbsup2 .

I posted this on the Restaurant Board, but, have not gotten much information.

I am looking for updated SOG menus. Anyone?
The only ones I can find are from '06 and early '07.

Also, how early does SOG decorate for Christmas?
