what a great thread ... thanks for all the info. so far ...

I would also like more info. on the packed lunchs ... how do you order them, what are the choices and how much do they cost ???

Does anyone know how to get from SOG to SeaWorld ... we are spending 11 days down at disney and the girls would like to go over to SeaWorld just one day (DH refuses, he is Disney all the way and will be going to Epcot by himself that day :rotfl: ) We will not have a car so what are our options ???

Thanks

Bronte: you will have to rent a car for the day if you want to hit Sea World.

as for picnic lunches: you order them the day before..they may be a cutoff time in order to have them ready for you the next day.

I posted a response to your previous inquiry regarding transportation to SeaWorld. Check out post #507. No need to go through the hassle and expense of renting a car. :goodvibes

O.K., I think I'm missing something.:confused3 I see one day one park, and I see them mention the hopper but I don't see the price! Help!! :)

Find the ticket with the amount of days you want and click on the little arrow thing on the right and it will bring up all of your options and prices for you.

I would love it if you could post the menus!

Hope this helps. We got this in January when we ate the seafood buffet. Our daughter wanted to eat seafood in preparation for the marathon. She's a vegetarian. It surprised us that she wanted to eat it, but oh well. It was the first time in 9 trips that we ate at the buffet. It was quite good.

Breakfast is very plain> eggs, bacon, sausage, maybe a potato of some sort, French toast or pancakes, danishes, bagels, fruit. couple of different juices to choose from.

I haven't read anything about microwaves in the room. We were planning on picking up a cheap one once we got to town, but I thought I read something about a microwave in the laundry room?

Help!

they will take the microwave out of your room and keep it. (this MIGHT have happened to my dad :rolleyes1 )

ntsammy5----How awesome are you for posting that! Thank you! The menu has changed from when we were there a year ago.

Boy, I miss a couple days on here and this thread has really been busy...AWESOME!

mom2jcc, could you tell us a little about being a Cinderella Castle Winner?

Oh, it was awesome. We were approached at MGM around 1pm at the Backlot Tour. Our appointed CM for the evening picked us up at SOG lobby at 4pm. Our bags magically appreared in the castle suite before we did even though we were brought straight there. We were treated to CRT that night, got VIP seating at the Spectromagic parade, got to ride anything we wanted in teh MK without waiting in line, treated to Crystal Palace for breakfast....a true magical night! I have the whole trip report under "Completed trip Reports". I have no idea how to copy the link:confused: Thanks for asking....if we won, anyone can!!!!

ANother question...

Could someone tell me, does SOG sell trading pins?

TIA :)

ntsammy5,
Thanks so much for posting the menus. I will now go into my itinierary and see what may work. I can also budget properly. Glad to see the SOG counts my boys as children and not adults. They will be 11 & 10 (he turns 10 only 15 days before we leave).

Do you have the prices on the breakfast buffet?

Thanks again.

I think the adult breakfast buffet is 8.95 plus drinks which are cheap -- don't know about kids since our baby is 27. Breakfast is quite good.

i agree, shades of green is an awesome place. walk right over to polynesian if you want to ride the monorail!

I just booked the Grand Floridian on an overflow rate for a very special vacation. Husband disabled vet cannot attend with dd and me. I wondered what dining plans and transportation from the airport are available to us since we booked at the discounted rate. Can we take the Magical Express from the airport to the GF? Can we do the regular dining plan, for which we would get the sit down, quick service, and snack every day? Is it worth it to purchase the Dining Experience card? I think I would have to assure myself eating enough food to recover the membership fee for the DE card.

I think we might be eating from the hot dog carts all week.

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.:flower3:

My understanding is even if you book to stay at a Disney owned hotel thru SOG you can not use Magical express or get the dining plan... you must book thhru Disney.... that being said I have a a couple of suggestions... I have the DDE card and it saves a ton... I think it is worth it.. we are annual pass holders so we get it at a pretty good rae and it has more than paid for itself and then some... as far getting to GF from air port... I used the coupon on Mousesavers and was able to book Sun ray limo service for $82 round trip... that is with a grocery stop... we asked for a large van because we are 4 adults (two older teenagers) each with suitcases, carry on bags and 2 sets of golf clubs..... the folks at Sun ray have been great to work with...

One of the many perks I'm really excited about. I've never actually stayed there but the Poly is my favorite resort to just visit and hang out at (followed by the Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness and AKL). Maybe one day I'll be able to get an overflow rate at the Poly, of course it will be years down the road before I can afford it (many many years since I just bought a new car!).
