***Official September 2022 Thread***

Everyone post that it is hot in September. Is it really that uncomfortable the last week of September?

It's hot, but better than earlier in the month. We usually go the last week of the month, but went earlier in September this past year and it was hotter than I've even experienced!

We've also have had great luck that week over the past 6-7 years with there being hardly any rain (and yes, I realize I probably just jinxed us all for that week this year!)

Anyone else doing MNSSHP on 9/5? I keep changing my mind on park strategy. Originally we were going to do Epcot because it’s Labor Day and I felt that park has the least amount of stuff that’s on our must do list. Now we are going to the party that night and I’ve changed our reservation to AK because it’s closed at 7 anyway. I know they say that MK crowds are usually lowest on party nights since they close early, but I’m just not sure how the holiday will effect that, and if that’s going to push a lot of people into Epcot and AK that day.
We are also thinking about the 5th as MNSSHP. Trying to figure out that holiday issue too about crowds. Just can't decide yet......

Hi there! I’m excited for a September trip- we’re headed down September 24-28! My family used to go almost annually growing up, but I’ve only been back a couple of times as an adult- and it’s been about 5 years since I last went! My husband has never been, and neither have my 4 and 3 year olds. My parents are tagging along as well! We were originally booked for POFQ, which I think looks wonderful! But, I found Dolphin to be right around the same price so actually made the switch today. I like the idea of walking or taking the boats to Epcot and HS, especially with us planning for mid-day breaks.

Hoping for lower crowds, and ready for the heat! Also hoping my husband enjoys it. He asked to not do 3 park days, so we compromised with two park days and a rest day. The more manageable I can make it for him, the more likely he will agree to many more future visits! :)
Welcome in @Clemsonsarah to the September 2022 Group!!! :welcome: Sounds like a Magical trip in the making!! Your husband and the 3 and 4 year olds :earsgirl::earsboy: being their first trip will be an exciting one. Of course your parents will be there to enjoy their Grands too. I have stayed at the Dolphin and it is a very nice resort. We walked and took the boats to Epcot on those park days. Great Restaurants there also. I as well hope for lower crowds also on All our trips!! I will add you to the CountDown List and will see you here for more planning.:tink:

We will be there 9/12 to 9/22. Animal Kingdom Lodge 9/12-9/14, and Saratoga Springs Resort 9/14-9/22. I finally bought our tickets and booked park reservations last week.

We're flying into TPA again. Airfare and rental car prices are just SOOO much better over there.
 Hi @TwoHeartsBeat!!!! Glad you joined the September 2022 Group!!! Nice 10 day trip you have planned at the Animal Kingdom Lodge🦒🦩 🦓and Saratoga Springs. I would love to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge one day. Love that Safari Ride. I will add you to the Countdown List and will see you here for more Planning:tigger:

We're doing the week prior this year, but I've done MNSSHP on Labor Day night before and did MK during the day that day. Best park day and party night ever!! Low crowds for both the day and that evening's party and I had an absolute blast on my first solo trip. It remains one of my favorite WDW memories, along with riding Tower of Terror with an elevator all to myself a couple of days later at HS!

That’s so great to hear.

This is exactly why I went ahead and bought it early. I saw on a blog that seconds could count in the morning, so I wanted to skip the buying step entirely.
The bigger gets at 7am are the ILL rides more than the genie+ rides from my experience.

I don't know if I missed this in the changing news, but does daily genie+ still go on sale at midnight, or is everything 7am?

Yes we are doing MNSSHP on 9/5 which is our arrival day. Hoping for low crowds.

Just reserved CSR 9/6-6/10, with 9/7-9/8 being our park days (with hopper). Just me and my husband. Going to be his birthday week :D. We did go ahead and get G+ especially since we will be hopping and hopefully hitting all 4 parks.

I'm open to MNSSHP on 9/9 if we are up for it. Does it usually sell out?

Just checking up on everyone's plans. I too, am in the limbo state. Trip is paid off, Mears is booked, flights are booked, MNSSHP tickets are in hand for the 9th, park reservations all made....Now just waiting on park hours which I'm hoping will come out the week of June 20th and then the 60 day mark (July 7th) for dining and Beachcomber Shack (Typhoon Lagoon) reservations! I'm at 105 days!!! I guess I'll read more dining reviews and firm up my choices!

I’ve got to re-book tickets since I cancelled POFQ and switched to Dolphin. Really wish I knew park hours now so I can select dates!

Thinking way ahead here- will I even be able to make dining reservations for more than my core family of 4 through MyDisney if my parents have separate hotel/park through her account? Not sure if it lets you book for a bigger party or not.

Dining isn't limited to party staying on site with you. I often make reservations for larger than our party, while waiting to find out if other people will be able to make it. We made reservations for 4 each day of our trip in January, because I didn't know what night my husband's sister and husband would join us.

I'll be making reservations for 4 again in September. My stepson just got back from the military, and won't know if he'll be able to make it in September until he starts college in fall. We're really hoping he'll be able to join my husband and I. He has been overseas, so he hasn't seen any of the Star Wars stuff.

Did you say you're going to have two park days? So are you going to ParkHopper?

I doubt the September dates will sell out anytime soon. Maybe a few days before?

:tink:Welcome in to the September 2022 Group @carrie_rn!!!! So Glad you joined us. Congratulations on your trip. Sounds like your husband will have a Great Birthday at Disney 🎂🎂. From my experience we have never tried to buy a MNSSHP that was sold out in the first 2 weeks of September but closer to the dates may be different this year. That is just from what I have experienced in the past. I will add you to the Countdown List and see you here for more planning!!::MinnieMo::MickeyMo

Did you say you're going to have two park days? So are you going to ParkHopper?
Yes- we are doing park hopper both days. We will do MK until early afternoon day 1 and walk to Epcot for the afternoon/evening (this is a Halloween party night so makes sense to not go back to MK). Then HS the next park day until early afternoon and decide if we want to do MK later or head back to Epcot (it’s another Halloween night, so feeling like MK will not make much sense). I don’t think we’ll even attempt AK this trip, as sad as that makes me.

This is so helpful! I was second-guessing booking under separate accounts but know they’re planning on Epcot the full day we’re doing MK and knew that might make other things complicated for them. So we will be able to keep separate resort reservations and still book a couple of dining options together- whew!

So exciting! We'll be at MK on 9/25 and 9/27 and going to the Halloween party on 9/25. Skipping AK on two park days makes complete sense to me. There's always next time. There's only one goal for this trip: fun and manageable enough for everyone so that there's a next trip. We're not park-hopping and probably doing only mornings at parks and afternoons at resorts to keep it within reason.

Another plus of going back to Epcot on day 2 is the proximity to Dolphin. I booked park reservations that way. Epcot and HS while at BWI, MK while at GF. Not having to deal with buses is huge.

my son and I will be at Disney world 23rd September until 6th October. We’re staying at the Marriott Cypress Harbor ( well I think that’s what its called).
we are both so excited but also anxious because everything is so new to us.

thanks for the great welcome
Kate 😄

Woohoo! Welcome @tompaddyelle . My wife and I went to Australia for our honeymoon. We spent five days in Cairns and five days in Sydney. So excited for you on your first trip to Disney World.
Thank you!
now you understand how far we have to travel to get there! I should be a zombie for the first couple of days 😄
