Welcome in to the September 2022 Group @MamaJessie !!!!! Glad you joined Us!!!! When I saw you were staying at the Riviera I just smiled. It brought back special memories. We will be staying at Riviera from 9/3-9/11. I loved it there so much, can't wait to go back![]()
I'm curious about this as well.Hollywood Studios Day - planning to rope drop and do as many rides / attractions as we can in the am, head back to resort for a short break and to pick up grammy, then back to HS to close out the night. Would like to do sci-fi dine in theater for lunch or dinner but no idea what time. Our last trip to Disney we didn’t do any mid day breaks, just stayed til we fet like we were “done” and the kiddos were little then so we didn’t push it. Now that they are older we want to try breaks. For those that do mid-day breaks, what time do you usually leave the park? And time you return to the park?
This is what works best for us as well and for the same reason. We do not go back to the resort for breaks so we use a TS meal at lunch for that longer AC break. Then for dinner, we are open and if we are hungry for a CS meal we go for it otherwise sometimes we just like to take the rest of the day to do snacks here and there. That heat can really mess with how we are feeling later in the day so doing a TS meal at lunch we normally enjoy so much more.I think my approach is I’m only planning TS lunches this time except one last park day Ohana… we found the last time with sept weather our appetites for dinner were hit or miss. We had a few TS dinners where we just didn’t feel like eating anything, whereas we always appreciated a lunch in A/C. It also felt like using that hottest part of the day well to just sit indoors and eat vs using the cooler evening when we were already refreshed to sit.
We’re not big breakfast eaters so we were reliably hungry for lunch but often skipped dinner in lieu of snacking through the evening.
This is our strategy too since we used to go in August and more recently started going in September for a quick Halloween weekend or in June for a family trip. It's usually pretty hot whenever we go, and we find doing a late lunch highly appealing, especially since it's off-peak times of day and a nice way to cool off. (If lucky, miss those afternoon thunderstorms as well!I think my approach is I’m only planning TS lunches this time except one last park day Ohana… we found the last time with sept weather our appetites for dinner were hit or miss. Usually with 2 small children and now a baby 12 months old, we stay at a park until around 2pm or 230 and then go back to the resort for some downtime. Around 6 pm or 630 we go back into a park with a plan of what we want to do for the evening. There are 6 adults and the 3 children in our group so we find it gives the children time to rest and us adults too.Hollywood Studios Day - planning to rope drop and do as many rides / attractions as we can in the am, head back to resort for a short break and to pick up grammy, then back to HS to close out the night. We booked Epcot resorts for the same exact reason. With a 3 and 5 year old, they're going to wither away in the heat, so walkability back to the resort was the number one priority.Hi there! I’m excited for a September trip- we’re headed down September 24-28! My family used to go almost annually growing up, but I’ve only been back a couple of times as an adult- and it’s been about 5 years since I last went! My husband has never been, and neither have my 4 and 3 year olds. My parents are tagging along as well! We were originally booked for POFQ, which I think looks wonderful! But, I found Dolphin to be right around the same price so actually made the switch today. I like the idea of walking or taking the boats to Epcot and HS, especially with us planning for mid-day breaks.
Hoping for lower crowds, and ready for the heat! Also hoping my husband enjoys it. He asked to not do 3 park days, so we compromised with two park days and a rest day. The more manageable I can make it for him, the more likely he will agree to many more future visits!![]()
I'm pretty sure you won't lose a ticket day. As far as I know, there is no penalty at WDW (I think just for DL APs? And I'm not 100% on that...)Help me think about park reservations?
Right now the main ? For my planning is Labor Day Monday. I had thought of doing Epcot with extended evening hours, then the MNSSHP date was announced so I thought party… but I haven’t booked tickets yet until I see what happens with those EEH…
If I make a park reservation for EPCOT and then don’t use it, it doesn’t use a ticket day or anything wacky right? I could still just move it if I decide to do the party that night?
This is exactly why I went ahead and bought it early. I saw on a blog that seconds could count in the morning, so I wanted to skip the buying step entirely.I hadn’t pre-purchased it bc I didn’t want for all days. But was debating just buying it ahead of time so it is one less thing I have to do every morning at 7am. Trying to remain positive but the lack of being able to plan ahead is driving me a bit crazy.

This is the exact date that’s got me stressed. Probably. Almost certainly that’s the night we’ll do the party. But I haven’t actually committed enough to buy tickets yetAnyone else doing MNSSHP on 9/5? I keep changing my mind on park strategy. Originally we were going to do Epcot because it’s Labor Day and I felt that park has the least amount of stuff that’s on our must do list. Now we are going to the party that night and I’ve changed our reservation to AK because it’s closed at 7 anyway. I know they say that MK crowds are usually lowest on party nights since they close early, but I’m just not sure how the holiday will effect that, and if that’s going to push a lot of people into Epcot and AK that day.
