I'm so excited our fares finally dropped on SWA!

I was randomly looking through my e-mail at 11:45pm last night (perfect time for that right...when your husband is sleeping and you're just about there) and saw they had released a sale on the 28th..every time I've looked our departure flight had stayed the same but the flight coming back home increased not too long after we bought our tickets (when the tickets were first released Feb 23rd) and then increased again after that (it went back down to the first increased price after a while). I wasn't hopeful for a price decrease (like it seemed many others were getting on the DIS for August/September) just basing off of prices from 2015 and on (when I made up the budget) and those prices seemed to stay true.

So anywho I check the e-mail and for the heck of it check our dates: our outbound flight went from 186 to 139 and our inbound flight went from 186 (at the time we had bought it) to 159! I promptly woke my husband up and told him the fare drop. He's like it's how much difference and when we figured it out he's like yeah let's get the points back (I assume if the points wasn't too much he wouldn't have worried about it that late at night).

Now we used points for 1 ticket and the other ticket is for me on a Companion Pass.

The scary part was we had to first cancel my reservation with the Companion Pass and then go back and do the whole "change flight" deal and then after that go back and re-add the Companion Pass...nerve racking to say the least.

It ended up being a difference of 6,296 pts back into the account for that 1 ticket :D

My son just loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and yes I feed the Disney obsession!!

Thank you for your service!!!

Hello! I would love to be added to the list please. My daughters and I will be staying at All Start Sports September 15- September 26. We plan to hopefully attend 2 MNSSHP if the dates work out as I've planned. I'm already bouncing off the walls with excitement lol!

We went to two MNSSHP during our four-day trip in 2015. Totally worth it!

(a little late for the important dates on the last page considering my ADR start date was a few weeks ago but I did get the e-mail for my ADR date when it was actually time).

Coming from Boston, staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge Sep 11 to Sep 16, just me (43) and my wife (38). Going to try and upgrade to a savanna view when we get there, any tips? We're doing a few behind the scenes tours, including a "safari" and the dolphin experience.

I don't understand the acronyms you are all using... what's MNSSHP? And when you refer to your husband you say "DH40" for example, what does that mean, domestic husband? Same thing for your daughter or son "DD" and "DS", or what am I missing? Tried Google that didn't help.

Anyways we're psyched! This is my 8th trip to Disney, first time at AKL (now I'm doing acronyms).

Haha, the acronyms take a little getting used to for sure! MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The DH, DS, and DD I'm not as familiar with (because I'm single and travel with my roommate, guess I could call her DR?), but I thought it was more like dear son or dear daughter? Somebody else will have to confirm that one!

I've never stayed there, but I bet y'all will love Animal Kingdom Lodge. I've never heard a bad word about it. We did eat at Sanaa the last time we were down there though, and while we waited for a table, we went outside to the savanna outlook area, and I just thought, it must be So. Awesome. to stay in a savanna view room and see those animals all the time!

The first D means Dear, so DD would be Dear Daughter, DS is Dear son, DH is Dear husband, the number after is their age. DH is Dear Husband 40 years old.
MNSSHP means Mickeys not so scary Halloween Party.

Trying to figure them all out is a little nerve racking at first but don't feel bad I am learning them too. Welcome to the madness!!!

I saved my book! I will probibly have a huge box of souvenirs when we come back.
If you're speaking about my post about the trip booklet I am totally right there with you!

I told my husband to read it but do.not.put.a.crease.in.it :lmao: because I'm saving it as a momento and he just gave me a strange look. Oh well

http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm

This should help you out :-). It's a learning curve for sure and there are times that I get stumped myself on what someone is meaning. Take note however that sometimes people use something that isn't listed on the list or is different than the list.

For example I use USO to stand for Universal Studios Orlando however the abbreviations page linked above has it listed as USF to stand for Universal Studios Florida....I just prefer USO so that's what I use.

For the D's in front of things the abbreviation page lists Dear (Darling, Disney). So a person who says DH could be meaning Dear Husband, Darling Husband or Disney Husband..they also could be meaning something else that's clear to them  but yes confusing at times. Many times people list their ages at the end DH40 would mean Dear/Darling/Disney Husband aged 40.

All my ADRs are made and settled!

For those wondering, MK closes at 6 on 9/28 for a cast member event, so no Mnsshp that night.

My ADRs are a bit all over the place cuz I was booking for me but also for other people dining with me but here they are :
Sci Fi Dine In
Ohana (dinner)
Bier Garten
Kona (breakfast)
Tiffins (dinner)
Homecoming
Flying Fish

Got a trip booklet today!! Getting more and more excited :jumping1:

(a little late for the important dates on the last page considering my ADR start date was a few weeks ago but I did get the e-mail for my ADR date when it was actually time).

I got my trip booklet toooo!

How/when/why?? What is this booklet?
It's a little booklet that they send out regarding your upcoming trip. I don't know if you have to be booked directly through Disney or not to get it (someone chime in if you know). It's got a tidbit here and there regarding stuff (like attractions, dining, benefits to staying on-site, snipet about MagicBands-though the picture shows the old magicbands not the new style, FP+, MDE, etc). It's things that you have access to read about online but it's in a booklet for your actual trip so you know makes it feel more special :D.

I booked my room reservation through Disney on 2/21/17 and just got the booklet on 3/31/17 (my ADR date was 3/12/17 so that's why I said a little late but I still got an e-mail from Disney about it being my ADR time on 3/12/17).

Here's the front of the booklet:

Here's to give the size of the booklet sorta:

Here's the back two pages that shows what I need to do next and my important dates:
