Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

Just when I think I'm all set, something comes up to change it. Was booked at POR in a gardenview, with free dining, when I read that others have been able to book standard, which I was told wasn't available. So while waiting on hold, went online and it was available, so booked a standard room at POR, saving us $78. Not much of a savings, but we don't really care about the view, and the savings will pay for one MNSSHP ticket! Yeah!!! This is getting to be my second job, definately more fun than the first!!!

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with the Sept heat/humidity on a trip with a 5 yo? This will be my DD's first trip to WDW. I'm definitely planning on getting to parks early and then taking a break in the middle of the day, but I'm worried she's going to melt! :)

We went last Sept with a 1 year old and we got one of the battery powered fans that you can clip to the stroller. It was great! We got ours at a Babies R Us store on sale for like $15 and it worked great. People stopped us in the parks to ask us where we got it. I know that they used to sell one in the parks that had the clip that looked like Mickey's hand but I didn't see any when we were there. We just clipped it to the sun shade and angled it towards him. He loved it and it kept him nice and cool. If you have a stroller that doesn't have the shade \ visor part you could just clip it to the stroller and bend the fan towards your DD. We are heading back this coming Sept and will be bringing the fan with us again! Hope that helps.

We have about 15 days before I have to book ADRs and I still don't know where we want to eat! I have one breakfast figured out (maybe) ... and that's pretty much it. :headache: Guess I need to start working on that now that we have our room/FD finally booked - I can breathe now.

After I actually make my ADR's on the 19th, I'll post them here :) Our biggest problem at the moment is that we aren't sure whether or not my niece will be going with us. I think in the end we'll make reservations for 4 (yes, even the cc guaranteed ones ugh!) and the we'll know for sure a month or so out whether she'll be going and we'll just cancel one if she can't. I figure dropping from a 4 person res. to a 3 person one won't change much, if anything about the ADR.

Anxiously waiting to book our ADRs - so excited - we have a great plan, got to upgrade last night to POFQ which is what we wanted, w/ FD, and paid the last of it off this morning... can't wait for September to come! Not sure what else I can plan in the meanwhile... lol... can't pack - been losing weight so no idea what size I will be in 6 months... ADRs done, redone, redone, and then redone again... park days planned... suggestions?? :confused3

Can you update our resort from Pop to POFQ :D did I mention I was excited about this upgrade!!!:banana::banana:

Hi there, can we be added to your list. We are staying at the Beach Club Sept 7-15th. Thanks!

I'm going to join in even though we are leaving 8/24 to 9/3. I missed some of you gals from last years thread. :) Booked Friday with the DV fd ended up at CBR. Not really my first choice. So yesterday rooms came up for pop so we were able to switch and stay there.

So we are at POP with the QSDP and WP&M for 11 days. We are going to make a couple of ADR's just not sure which ones yet. Probably will do Rainforest and Garden Grill.

Love Love FD. :cheer2: Air has been booked for a couple of weeks since the rumor about FD was buzzing. I only booked because they kept going up. Once they hit over 1000.00 for the 4 of us I booked.

Yeah!! Glad you got Pop... we were going there but decided to upgrade to POFQ... we'll see which we like better for the next trip... lol... What is Garden Grill like for food - we're doing Akershus, Biergarten, Crystal Palace, 50's Prime Time, 1900, Mamma Melrose & Ohana - think there is one more but can't think of it right now - LOL - just thought of it - Tusker House - how could I forget that!

I just bought one of those fans! Our son will be 15 months on our trip and I think he'll really like the fan. This will be our second Sepember trip (went in 2010) and hopefully our 2nd MNSSHP!

We stayed at Pop our last 2 trips, but we're giving POFQ a try this time around. LOVE that they have queen beds now.

Garden Grill is fantastic! That is on my DH and DD's list of must dos. The food was great, the restaurant was nearly empty (got an ADR right when they opened at 4pm) and the characters were awesome...you gotta love Mickey in his overalls!

We've changed our arrival date and resort...we're now going Sept 18-23rd and staying at Art of Animation!! :goodvibes

I agree that Garden Grill is really good!!! In fact...we went there based on Dancegrl's trip report!! I had to see Mickey as a farmer!!!!

Garden Grill was our favourite from the first time we went.

STill trying to figure out our reservations for Sept. I really wish I knew what day MNSSHP would be on to figure out what to do.

Has anyone done the Royal table for breakfast? Is it worth the 2 credits? Being as the girls met just about everyone last year, we decided we will only do line ups, if not long, for characters we have yet to meet. But that doesn't mean they wouldn't love to eat with the Princess' . Just not sure it's worth 2 of my 4 table credits. What is a good dinner to do at one of the hotels for characters? We are only doing the parks 2 times, and are going to do the breakfasts there.

Even though it isn't set in stone it looks like MNSSHP will be on Tuesdays and Fridays in September. This is based on MK showing a closing time of 7 PM on those days. :thumbsup2

We ate at CRT last year for breakfast. Its hard to say if it is "worth" it. As far as food goes- you get a lot more at other breakfast places. We did ask for seconds because for 2 TS credits there was no way I was walking away hungry! :rotfl: To me CRT is all about the experience. To be in the castle, and looking out the windows at Fantasyland.

I personaly think we've had better interactions with the princesses at Akershus. So to us CRT is one of those do it once to say you have, and move on. But I'm sure there are many varying opinions. ;)

We also really like dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the GF. You see Cinderella and Prince Charming...the step sisters also really steal the show...they are seriously hilarious! :thumbsup2

Aw, thanks! We just loved the food there...especially the dessert!

We did CRT for dinner on our last trip and it was just ok. The food wasn't anything special, but the atmosphere was beautiful.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary is always a big hit with us. We've only done breakfast, but everyone I talk to loves it for diner (again, dessets are fantastic). It's a great option on a Magic Kindgom day because you can walk to the Contemporary (about 10-15 minutes). 'Ohana is great for dinner as well, but there are no characters. Haven't done 1900 Park Fare, but I've heard nothing but great things. Characters there are hilarious with the Step Sisters.

I agree...1900 Park Fare for the Cinderella lover and Akershus was great also. I think if we are gonna use 2 TS credits we might try The Aloha luau dinner show.....has anyone done that??? I have quick service but kinda thinking if we do that and Cape May...it will cost us close to the upgrade costs so might as well just upgrade and have ADR's to book!!
