Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

Hi JavArmy thanks very much for your message, we live in New Zealand but my dream is to live in the States one day! Funny about the length of the trip, my travel agent couldn't work out why she couldn't get a reservation through at CBR, turns out the system would only take 21 nights and she had to do an extra reservation for the remaining.

We have been to Disneyland and San Diego previously and love all things Disney plus can't get enough of animal parks so Orlando seemed like the ideal place to set up home for a while. We will do Disney parks, water parks and downtown disney at a leisurely pace then on to Seaworld for a few days, Discovery cove and Gaterland. Absolutely loving the planning. Our area has been continually shaking from earthquakes large and small for the last 18 months and life has been tough with insurance issues etc so it is great to have something to look forward to (although perhaps I shouldn't have added on the 4 day stopover in San Francisco, my daughter is reading a book about their big earthquake and is not sure we should go there:) )

Sounds like it should be a lot of fun!! I lived for a year in central California, not far from San Fran, and I'm sure you be just fine as far as earthquakes are concerned;) In fact, I never felt one the whole year I was there and I was pretty bummed, haha! Anywhoo, I hear ya about the planning! Keep it up, and best of luck!

Booked today - staying 9/16 - 9/22 at the Beach Club! First time there, SO EXCITED to be able to walk to Epcot/HS - especially if there's a rain storm or two. :cool1: :yay: :dance3:

Will wait and see if the passholder discount is better, but for now it's set in stone. Can't wait to go again.

Hope you have fun there!! I have heard good things! I think that is where I'd stay if my husband and I could ever get a trip to disney alone. We love us some Epcot!

Hi mxkris we will be at CBR during your dates with our 9 year old daughter. I fell in love with this resort after watching the planning dvd and can't wait to make ourselves at home! We will be there 3 1/2 weeks after travelling from New Zealand.

Oh man 3 1/2 weeks sounds like a dream!!! We'll only be there for 5 days but maybe we'll bump into each other!!!

Hi mxkris, our accents usually make us stand out :) Yes we are beyond excited. It is likely to be our only trip to Orlando so we wanted to do it thoroughly! But I would also happily take your 5 days, even if I had just one day and spent it in a hammock at CBR it would be worth it.... Only concern is how we will handle the heat (have never really experienced humidity) but the lower crowds should help a lot. Happy planning to you!!!

Thanks!! I hear ya about being worried about the heat. We went in June last year (and I am going in June as well again this year, you think I would have learned my lesson!) and it is HOT! My only advice is drink lots and lots of water. I didn't take my own advice and I nearly passed out! We stopped in for lunch at the Sci-Fy Dine-in Theater, and I sat at the table and nearly fell asleep. Our waiter was really concerned about me and kept pushing me to drink water. At the time I was a bit irritated, but looking back he was SOOO right and probably kept me from making myself sick.

Anyhoo, just pace yourself. Drink water and use meals as time to cool off. Also take note of rides with air conditioned lines!:rotfl:

We'll be on the look out for you! I'll have a Lime Green Mickey Head on my bag and we'll be a group of 4 adults! A couple in their 20's and a couple in their 50's. We'll prob. be easy to spot also! pirate:

Can't believe I never saw this thread! I am so joining in.

We will be there from Sept. 23-29, staying at POFQ. :D I am so excited! But probably way overthinking things! I was wondering if I could post my tentative plans (or what I have so far anyway) and get some input from y'all who go fairly regularly. I have been before, but not since I was a teenager and I've never had to plan it all myself! LOL the dining plan especially is very new to me and trying to figure it all out is kicking my butt!

My mom and I are taking my girls, ages 5 and 7, on an all girls trip Sept. 7-15th. It's her first trip and our 3rd. It's also our first time staying at WL, we have stayed at POP and off-site on our previous trips. I am so excited about staying at this hotel.
Does anyone know if any of the rooms have fireworks views?
Is the Halloween party worth the extra $?

We love WL. That is our home away from home. We normally watch the fireworks from our balcony. We get the bunk bed woodsview room and always request a view of the otter pond and from floors 4 on up. We had the same room two years in a row and then next year we were a floor below but the last 2 numbers.

We have never done the halloween party.

We are not doing it they year, we are doing the Pirates and Pals Firework Cruise

yes post your plan!

Ok, I have two different layouts for the week concerning which park on which day. The reason for this is I planned the first week based on easywdw.com's recommended park of the day calendar. Then I went back and looked again, and even though he says to avoid the park holding EMH that day, the crowd forecasts for the week we will be there is all 2's & 3's...now if that is accurate, I was thinking maybe we would give the EMH parks a shot, just to be able to spend more time in them. Here is what I have so far:

Plan 1:
Monday: Quick breakfast in the room, head to Epcot for RD. CS for lunch somewhere, dinner reservations at Akershus at 6:55. Illuminations.

Tuesday: Breakfast either in the room or food court, get to Typhoon Lagoon for opening and stay a few hours. Probably just snacks at the water park. Back to the room to shower & rest before MNSSHP that night, probably either eating in the food court before we go or a quick CS as soon as we get to MK.

Wednesday: Breakfast in the room, head to MK for rope drop. Lunch reservations at Crystal Palace at 1pm. CS dinner. We would like to see Wishes.

Thursday: DHS. Breakfast either in the room or at Starring Rolls (I MUST HAVE ONE OF THOSE CUPCAKES!) If we don't eat breakfast there, we are definitely using some snack credits :) Maybe a CS lunch depending on how many credits we still have. Dinner reservations at Mama Melrose at 6:20. I am confused about this one. The reservation I made doesn't say anything about the Fantasmic package. Do I need to call and make that separately?

Friday: Animal Kingdom. No idea what to do about meals here. I probably want to have lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue just from pictures and reviews I've read here. The park closes at 6 on this day so I was considering holding off on supper until we left AK and spending the rest of the evening at DTD and maybe eating there. Trying to get all these credits figured out is annoying!

Here is my second plan based on the EMH parks:

Monday: Animal Kingdom for AMEMH. Same predicament about meals as above lol.
Tuesday: Same as the above plan
Wednesday: Epcot for PMEMH. Akershus for lunch. CS dinner, Illuminations
Thursday: Magic Kingdom for AMEMH. Lunch at Crystal Palace. CS dinner, Wishes
Friday: Hollywood Studios for AMEMH. Not sure about meals here quite yet. Fantasmic! that night.

Apologies for how long that is! But ANY input y'all can give me is super appreciated! :)

We've been at Disney in September our last two trips and we're doing it again this year:cheer2:
We've done the EMH in the evenings and it wasn't really crowded. I don't think we did many of the morning EMH's...too many late nights.;)

I was wondering about that, especially for our day after the Halloween party. Not sure if I'm gonna be able to get everyone up the next morning in time to get the parks before they open, but I don't want to get such a late start that we miss out on too much!

For your fantasmic! package, I would make sure it says it's part of the package. When you book it online, you need to do it under dining expieriance, not just under the restaurant. Here is a link to the webpage. Best of luck!:thumbsup2
