Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

I just noticed this thread! Can you add me? We are going 9/29 to 10/6! Our window for reservations opened up today and we got everything we wanted!!!!

Now we need the next 180 days to fly by! :thumbsup2

We have some birthdays between now and Sept too! Aiden turns 6 in June...not sure what to do about his party yet. Last year we had an arts and crafts party and he really liked that....

DH turns 30 in July, then I turn 30 at the end of August. Originally we were going to do a 30th birthday/ 9th anniversary weekend away, but then we decided to go to WDW in Sept! I think we may still do a nice dinner.

Then Kurt jr turns 8 while we are in WDW. Last time we went he also had a birthday there(5th). Then we decided not to have a party for him at home, we felt WDW was enough, but our relatives(ie my mom) was upset. So this year we may have a SMALL get together...IDK.

We also have our 6th Anniversary on April 29 so this is a very busy month for us with celebrations!
Ty will be 2 and with him everything is Jake! (had a fit the other night because I put different PJ's on him and he wanted Jake - it was so cute and funny!) so that works perfect for us. We have some nieces and nephews that will be over so I plan on doing a little pirate treasure hunt in our yard and this year Natalie decided she wants a pinata so this could get interesting.
After all this planning then I'll get back to the Disney planning :)

So cute!
Dh wanted to know if Erik(15 mos) was into to any of the Disney Junior shows. I told him not yet, but I am slowly introducing him to them.

One thing I like to do, to get the kids in the spirit, is have Disney movies days/nights. I will search on my DVR and record the ones coming on tv, or we'll pop in a dvd. It has been a lot of fun showing the boys some of the Disney classics. They almost watched all of Snow White, but Bambi bored them! DS7 wants to watch Pinocchio so I have see about getting that one...I think they just put him back in the vault...

Counting down? It is happening at our house most definitly! Every time I turn around, someone (DD21) :rolleyes1 has turned the calendar to Sept. We are going to Mary Poppins the Musical this week. I am rather excited, because the hubby is going too. He tolerates our Disney mania, but just doesn't get it. So we leave him home. I call him DH, but the D is silent. Prep includes T-shirts to be made and room decorations to purchase and design. No costumes this year as we are not doing MNSSHP. Mostly though, I try not to think about it so the time will go faster. FYI -doesn't work, sigh.

Sure! Would you like me to include where you're staying??

Last year, I drew pictures (almost) everyday from 101 to the day we left counting down the days..... I would like to do that again this year, but so out of practice, plus it was hard to find new ideas on what to draw...

Instead of Sept. 8-20, 2012 we will be going the 8th-18th. Still doing a split stay between BWV & OKW.
ADR's and airline reservations have been made. I was really looking out for the airfare and finally it came down enough for us to book. Not long after I noticed the schedule had changed and now we will be arriving a couple of hours later and leaving Orlando a couple of hours earlier. Oh well, at least we will have a longer layover and won't have to race from one flight to the next now.;)

I do hope you will do it again. They were great! :thumbsup2 You could even reuse some of last year's in your postings. There are a lot of new Sept. people and those of us from last year probably could use a review.

Your pictures were amazing!!!! I would love to see what you were going to draw this year:goodvibes

Got my first ADR today -- Crystal Palace, 9/30, 8:35 AM. I'll be stalking for a time closer to 8:05 from now till we leave. :rolleyes1 I really want to get there first thing and do our empty Main Street photos!

I gotta say, this 180 days business really stinks! :scared: I much prefer 180+10...but not enough to pay the difference to stay onsite. We're going on a slender budget this time and I'm trying my hardest to stick to it. A couple of our favorite TS meals OOP are my big splurge.

So everyone else should be done with ADR's now, right? I'm lagging behind as usual!

We booked an 8:30 at Crystal Palace too, but thought we would arrive quite a bit earlier. Does anyone have experience as to how much before your ADR the gate will let you enter?

We LOVE counting down to our Disney trips in this house. For our last trip, we made a countdown chain and we started it at our 30 day mark. I found a bunch of fun trivia facts on but them on the back of each link for my daughter to read. She loved it!

We also colored some Disney calendars to countdown starting at 100 days.

If you're interested, here is where I found them. Disney Junior

For another trip, we used the Mickey head paint chips from Home Depot to make a "count-up" calendar. We put on a Mickey head everyday until it looked like this:
100_0664.jpg

It says "Disney World Here We Come". I used a pink marker to right "Come" and it didn't turn out too bright.

For this trip, we already colored in our calendars and started them at 200 days. We just couldn't wait! I don't know what I'm going to do for our 30 days countdown yet.

You have to enter through a certain turnstile and then they have everyone line up. It doesn't matter what time our ADR is, they let everyone in at the same time. You can arrive at 8am for an 8:30 ADR, but they just won't seat you yet. We had an 8:35am ADR on our last trip and we went in around 8am. We took lots of pics down Main Street, in front of Crystal Palace and the Castle. All of the walkways to the "lands" are roped off, so no exploring anywhere except the hub and Main Street.

Just wanted to give yall a heads up, the Orlando Sentinel post the TT will be closing April15th or 16th, and staying closed for refurb until mid to late September.

This won't change my travel dates, but I will have some disappointed children if it isn't open!

Well, I love the count up poster. I am so excited for this trip!! Can not get here soon enough. It sounds like Tower of Terror and Test Track may both be down during our visit :sad2: Oh well I guess that happens from time to time. I have changed my ADR's a few times already. I think that I may be done with the exception of one choice.

Have you considered the Gardenview Tearoom Afternoon Tea? A more refined touch of the GF. Great for a girl's get-away if the guys aren't into it. We have done it the last 3 trips and are going again. Not on the dining plan, but if you want a relaxing, treat filled, couple of hours in a charming atmosphere, it may fit the bill. There are no characters like 1900 Park Fare, but the pricing is quite reasonable with 3 courses plus tea of your choice for $20-$30 per person.

can anyone tell me more about the kid clubs?
Are they in the evening? Where are they? Do you drop your kids off for a few hours?

The kid's clubs are located at the Deluxe resorts, not all of them, but I know there is one at AKL, BC or BW?, GF, and Poly. The people staying at those resorts get first dibs, then other resort guests. They charge so much per hour, per kid, most of them that includes dinner. It is only available to kids 4 and up and they must be potty trained.

I have always wanted to try them but last time my youngest wasn't potty trained, and this time our newest youngest is too little!

Thanks to the OP about TT. Riley went on it once and she hasn't asked to go back on it. LOL
