Every day closer we get to our honeymoon the more nervous I get that walls are going to pop up before we get there. This will be our first stay at the Poly and I would love even just one night of no construction to enjoy the resort. Nine more days.

Oh please don't let this ruin such a magical time for you!!! You must be so excited, this will be an amazing trip for you , walls or no walls!!! Just forget about it and enjoy this time, it goes by way to fast. I would love to see some pics from your wedding. Congrats in advance!!!!!!

I checked out of the Poly, club level room .....theme park view and saw no construction out side my room. Had third floor. They told me they wasn't doing too much other than closer to the end closer to Tahiti building. View from my room was great. Saw an alligator in lagoon and a snake near the pool but moved faster than I could

I was glad to stayed instead of canceling, the manager who was in charged with the construction told me if I wasn't happy she would moved me to the CR theme park view or give me a refund. It wasn't needed. Had a great stay. Room 3501 I think close to the lounge. Great view of the castle. Sorry no pictures as I am on my IPad. But I would have to say the closer to new year might be more construction but they were being very close mouth about it.

Wow! Have been behind on planning my trip. I have had my Poly GV CL reservation for a while but today is first day back to Dis.

Needless to say I'm quite taken aback about the construction news.

I read through quite a few posts but can't quite pinpoint even what is rumored for my Jan 21-26 trip.

Would someone be so kind to breakdown what is expected to be affected mid-January?

Needless to say I'm quite taken aback about the construction news.

Could not tell you for sure, first should be the work on the beach around Tahiti and sunset point, Hawaii, to build villas. Early 2014 the volcano poll and gch should start rehab. Definite time line from disney has not been provided. Keep an eye here and on tikimas site. I have an index of highlights on post one that might help.

Checked in yesterday. Walked around the resort. Saw a few blue flags in the ground near Sunset Pointe, but that was it!!!! Watched Wishes last night and there is no bad view from the beach!

Thanks! I'm trying not to worry about it. I know we will have a great time either way, but one of the reasons we picked the Poly was for the atmosphere and the beach. We have a TPV room so now I just hope that we get our Tuvalu request so that we're on the other side of the resort! Five more days to go and I can finally stop stressing about every detail. lol

I to am visiting the Poly for the first time in January, staying CL. If said construction is happening and the pool is closed. How accommodating would the Poly be in relocating us to another deluxe resort if the construction is too much for us to bare?

We stayed at the Poly in 2008, and were underwhelmed. My dh took me to tour the other deluxes, and we called reservations to see what was available and they were able to move us to a tpv room at CR for the remainder of our stay...and it was actually cheaper So, as long as there is availability, it's not a problem

Darn, and we were so close. Never did get a letter about the construction. If it wasn't for the DIS and Tikiman, we would have no idea this was even happening.

Last month construction crews were being tasked with starting prep work September 9th. I am guessing that was the flags and power outage we saw. Then walls were to go up today and it looks like they are preparing for that and telling guests that walls will be up today.

Flag markers ran down the side of Tokelau between Tahiti so I don’t know if that is just for the lines that are going in or the new paths or if they are going to surround Tahiti at some point. We will have to wait and see.

Discussions internally about Great Ceremonial House renovations have been increasing and there is a possibility it will start before the end of the year but no dates for sure yet. When the pool will start has been in some of the discussions also but nothing I am allowed to share right now.

Another Disney person mentioned the bungalows being the most expensive villas in the DVC line. This is about the 6th person involved in the process that mentioned this.

Thanks Steve. I am still not going to change our December reservation. I love the Poly too much and I figure we can put up with the construction especially if we get the longhouse I want. If we don't we will make the best of it. I would not be happy anywhere else.
