I just checked the Disney Web site and the main pool is now expected to open by June. I am going the first week in May and had planed on the Poly but changed to the GF. Glad I did.

Where are you seeing this? I'm still seeing it as "Spring 2015"

"Through Spring 2015" leads me think April sometime. According to Tikiman (who has more information than even the Disney website) he is thinking April as well. But, I guess we will find out!

True. I don't think anyone has any idea when it will actually open! I know they would love to have it open by March for DVC opening, but I don't think that's even remotely possible at this point! I know Tikiman cited the final inspection paperwork as early April. Only time will tell..

I switched from WL to Poly today but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have. A room became available for the same cost. First week in May. When my TA called to switch me the Cast member said the pool is on schedule to open in April. Fingers crossed. She wasn't going to change my reservation otherwise. Now I'm second guessing my decision due to other posts here. Hope they're wrong. Just looked an WL isn't even showing available.

See this is why I don't trust CM's with construction details, as I was assured when I booked it would be done April 1st, lol. Either way it will be done when its done. The pool won't make or break our vacation.

We'll be staying at Poly in mid-April (me,DH,DS9 and DD6). I've already accepted that the main pool is most likely going to be closed and that there will still be good amount of construction going on, but what are the things that are available now? Is the Quiet Pool not open to children?

The kids have been to WDW just once (3.5 years ago), and none of us ever stayed at Poly, so I don't know what's available that may be fun or unique. I heard that there are outdoor movies and arts and crafts and hula lessons for kids, but are those "on hold" during construction as well?

I'm pretty sure the kids will love being on the monorail resort and still think the whole trip was a blast (they still don't know about it yet! Heehee!)

I hope the main pool will be done by our trip for June 9th, but I'm not holding my breath. I do hope if it is closed they let us use the pool at the GF. The water parks are nice but I don't want to bus to another location for just an hour a day or so for some down time at the pool and my kiddo really wanted to use the slide pool. I had a mom fail last trip and we only swam at the quiet pool at POR because it was near our room. Last day we were there my daughter saw the slide at the pool and was so disappointed she didn't get to swim there. She has brought up numerous times how much she is looking forward to getting to use the slide.

For those who think that Disney can schedule construction to be complete, The Wilderness Lodge pool just completed and guests were originally told it would be done around Thanksgiving.

No one will know exactly when the Polynesian pool will be done until it is days away from opening.

Does anyone know if you went over to GF to use the pool if they'd kick you out if staying at Poly? I know they'll give you Blizzard passes, but am curious how strict they are on pool hopping.

I was advised by customer care (a step above the phone cm) that they would note my reservation that we could use the GF pool and I am holding them to it. Our days are full with the parks and there is zero time to go to BB (they close @ 5 ). They need to realize those of us going in the summer will expect a pool at the end of the day.
