The pool reopened in the second week of December, ready for use. But Disney spent a few more weeks doing "touch ups."

The poly has a quiet pool so guests will have a pool to use at the end of the day albeit might be a little crowded. I am not sure why Disney would let poly guests use their pool. If I was staying at the GF and paying GF prices I would not be happy with the prospect of overcrowded pools at the GF. Disney needs to come up with a better plan I.e. compensate poly guests for not having a main pool in the summer rather than making a GF guests experience less than they expect.
I can't find the "search thread" feature anymore, so I'm sorry if this question has been asked. What is the main Poly pool going to be like? I'm thinking about canceling CBR and booking the Poly instead for Sept, and the pool area is really important to the kids.
And isn't it really cold for BB now?Hey everyone, I apologize if this was already discussed but since the "search" feature is down I figured I would go ahead and just ask. We are staying at the Poly next week and were told that we would be given passes to Blizzard Beach since the pool will not be open at the Poly. However, I just checked the website and it seems Blizzard Beach will also be closed for renovations next week. Is there something I am missing here? What would be the point of giving complimentary passes to a place that is closed?
I would love to be compensated instead but they did not give me that option. The poly has a quiet pool so guests will have a pool to use at the end of the day albeit might be a little crowded. Agreed! I had not been active on Disboards when I booked so I had no idea all of this was going on. The phone CM said nothing about construction.Agreed. But, if I was staying at the Poly and paying Poly prices I would not be happy with the fact that my only swimming option is an overcrowded, rectangular, un-themed pool. I also agree they need to do a better job compensating guests for the lost experience.
And they need to do a much better job with their construction times and schedules. I've said this before on these pages, there is no excuse for dragging on construction at the pace that they do.
Nothing was said when I booked. My intent was to book Por but they offered Poly for a good price (on the phone) so I did it. The phone cn should have warned me.I do agree with you about reducing rates or other compensation. On the other hand, I will have to say that big warnings are posted about the construction on the website when you try to make a reservation. Can't say they didn't warn people, although perhaps the extent of the construction is difficulty to gauge if you haven't been there.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be happy either if I did not have the main pool to use either but my guess why they did not mention anything is there is a pool available (quiet pool). I just don't think the solution is to ruin someone else's experience at the GF by over crowding the GF pools. My guess is this will all be moot anyways since the poly main pool will be done by April but if someone is worried about the pool not being done I would suggest switching to a different resort since you know about the possibility. I have read more than several people doing just that. Hope all works out!Nothing was said when I booked. My intent was to book Por but they offered Poly for a good price (on the phone) so I did it. I am going to attempt to post pics from last week. Sweet! That was easy! Still wish I could figure out how to see posts newest first...
We got an email last week about the pool closure during our upcoming trip in March. It said we'd be given passes for Typhoon Lagoon.Hey everyone, I apologize if this was already discussed but since the "search" feature is down I figured I would go ahead and just ask.
