Yesterday we took the boat from the MK to Poly for Ohanas. I asked the cm working at the rental booth just off the dock when they thought the construction would be done and she said not until probably mid 2016. Yes, she said 2016. Our waiter also said it was because they decided to do some updates to the valcano and ran into some MAGER problems. I guess they have a real mess on their hands. We sat by the window almost directly in front of the volcano and they have a big chunk of its wall taken off and the plumbing looks messed up. I hope they are wrong, but....

Just flipping awesome. When I booked the Poly the cm said NOTHING about all this construction. Going in June and not having a main pool is a deal breaker for me.

CM's are notorious for telling tall tales. I do not believe the main pool would be delayed until June. They want that thing open for DVC.

I'm really bummed about this Poly situation... Grand Floridian is prohibitively expensive right now, contemporary is booked up, but the Poly has the right price and availability for our April vacation. We really want to be on the monorail loop but paying $300+ per night for the Poly just seems like the kind of a decision you'd make if you're mentally ill or something. I guess we can stay at the beach club..... booooooring =(

Normally, I would agree, but I don't think its a question of "wanting" to get done, it's more that they decided to do some work on existing pool and opened up a can of worms so to speak with unexpected issues. We sat right over the construction site and took pics. We go home tomorrow and I'll post them if I can remember how on Thursday.

I understand your concern and disappointment. We are booked for Poly Vl in November, but I find nothing boring about BC. I would be back at their CL this year, but the "magical angry exclusive" is saving me $2500. That is a ton of money.

We love the lounge, pool and above all location of BC. Ism nervous about Poly,a dn it looks like most of the construction will be complete before November.

IPO put us on a list to book one when they are back. The picture of the pool appears to have cabanas in it. I'm hopeful that they will return but who knows? Only time will tell I guess.

Oh I really hope so. We really missed the cabanas in dec when we stayed at akl. Very much hoping to be able to get one for pool days in oct at the poly

We're thinking of staying at the Poly the last week of October this year. It will be our first time staying at this resort. I know there has been a lot of construction over the past 1+ years. But can anyone tell me what I should expect to still be under construction in late October? Will the pools be finished?

The main pool should be open by then. Not sure about the quiet pool.

I've read in the details regarding the new Poly Deluxe Studios that they will have "enhanced storage". I've seen the pictures and video of the model of the Poly Studio and I'm not noticing any "enhanced storage". If anything it seemed like less storage than other DVC studios I've stayed in. Did I miss something in the pictures? Especially if these units sleep 5 people...

I know that the units in Aulani have storage under the beds. Maybe that's what they're doing at the Poly.

I'm ready to book today for the end of August, and don't want to book there if no main pool.

I'm not sure but I am guessing from what I have read that it is supposed to be finished by August. I booked the Poly for November with the hope that all construction would be finished by then but now it looks like the quiet pool will be under refurb at that time. We have been waiting for over a year now and we are still concerned about staying there in Nov.

Bottom line, I would expect at least some construction on the quiet pool. The main pool will probably be finished by end of August. if you book room only you have up to 6 days before to change or cancel, so I would book and keep an eye on the situation.

Barring a major problem or disaster, the main pool will be finished before August. Scheduled for mid-April completion, but there are conflicting reports. Some say it could be early, others indicate it may not be until May.

August you should be very safe for the main pool.

However, the other pool will start construction once the main pool completes. PVB (DVC) documentation indicates the other pool would be completed winter 2016.
