*** Official OCTOBER 2021 Countdown Group - HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY WDW! ***

looking forward to going without a real "plan". Just checking wait times and doing whatever we want!

Go with the flow is our plan. We know it will be crazy, do what we can and if we become uncomfortable, go back to the resort and relax.

Howdy! We're going to be in WDW 10/10-10/16. I'm waffling between GF Standard RPC & Poly 1BR. I also just discovered that one of my best friends from high school is going the same time we are (and she has 2 young daughters as well) so we're planning to split a VIP tour, if we can score a reservation. She's done VIP tours before, but I have not - so I'm SUPER pumped!
Added! :ccat:

Oct. 10 - Oct. 16 - Tri-Delta4Life - GF

10/25 - 11/5 Violetspider AOA
Added! :mickeyjum

Oct. 25 - Nov. 5 - Violetspider - AOA

Last July for AP previews, outdoor masks were pretty brutal! What made it worse for us at least was having to stop to eat/drink. We frequently snack on popcorn and rehydrate walking from ride to ride and that was much tougher. Oh, and the HEAT. Yeah, it was sweaty under there. Changed 3-4 times in a short day. Looking forward to October where it won't be quite so hot (hopefully)

October 15 - 18 :)
Added you in as: :donald:

Oct. 15 - Oct. 18 - Willow1213 - Offsite?

Changed our resort, Oct 11-18, we are at Beach Club villas our first night, switching to Shades now instead of Boardwalk Villas, then to the Poly Villas for our last night and BooBash. We are going to use our first and last full days as resort days to take advantage of the pools at BC and Poly. Had to use or lose those DVC points! I loved the idea of walking to Epcot but for over $1000 savings it’s a no brained especially since I signed up for Dopey again in January.
Changed! :wizard:

Oct. 11 - Oct. 18 - McMonsters - BCV / SoG / PV

Oct. 31-November 6. Pop Century

Added! :tigger:

Oct. 31 - Nov. 6 - luvnwdwgal - POP

I think for us especially going towards end of month, even with longer lines, the heat hopefully won't bake us.
We have had a few trips during the last week of October and the weather had been good for all of them. One of the October trips had a little chilly weather, which was nice. Hopefully, it won't be super hot for this one. :)

Our late October trip in 2017 was cold!!! We had pants/jackets on - for just a few days though.

We must have been there at the same time. I have pictures of us in jackets. :)
Yes! I have a picture of rope-drop at Epcot and everyone was in jeans/jackets and some had on hats and gloves!

I did end up buying a very cute fleece lined quilted Mickey jacket from Animal Kingdom though! :D

Oh wow! Thank you for posting this. We've never been to Orlando during the last week of October before. I'm glad you mentioned jackets because I think that is something we wouldn't think about bringing. My ideal situation is shorts weather during the day, and pants when the sun sets.

I wouldn’t go in expecting those temps even though they are possible. Averages in October are high of 85 and low of 68, also depends on where you’re coming from. Its likely to be shorts for us maybe a sweatshirt at night unless it’s unusually cold like I’m guessing it must have been in ‘17.

Oh I’m not expecting it, but I didn’t think about bringing a coat or jacket. I’m in Illinois so I’m used to both hot and cold weather! :-)

Got ya! Just didn’t want you to go in expecting cold if you didn’t know :) I’m one of the few I’m sure that’s hoping for unseasonably hot! I love the heat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Probably because we live in what I consider cold 8 months of the year :guilty:

Hey! I posted this somewhere else, but thought maybe someone could use this info - makeup stuff.

If anyone is looking for a great mascara that stays on even in the rain, sweating, whatever -
L'Oreal Paris Makeup Double Extend Beauty Tubes Lengthening 2 Step Mascara.
Little "tubes" of mascara form on your lashes and they slide off when you rub gently with warm water! Honestly, I put it on before work at 5:00 am and it's just starting to flake late evening.

Yeah, I just wear a jacket on the plane (Chicago!) and pack a couple sweaters. Layering was fine that trip. I bring 2 pairs of jeans and that's it. I will wear the same 2 pairs for 9 days if I have to! I refuse to pack more...

I will say I was looking forward to the heat, so it was a bit of a bummer for it to be that cold! Normally October isn't like that. :)

This time I'm bringing a light rain jacket with a great hood (rolls up into a tiny ball), a lilac jean jacket that I can fit a sweater under (will wear on plane) and that's it as far as jackets. If it gets real cold, I can always buy something again! 😂

We are from the Chicago area, too. So a jacket on the plane for the end of October is good enough for a little chilly weather in Florida. But odds are that it will be warm in Florida. I think 2017 weather was a fluke, but definitely a warning about the possibilities of unpredictable weather in Florida. :)

I love that you already know what you are packing for a trip in October. Can we be best friends?! :rotfl2:

I've been to WDW so many times (at least 50) that I fairly much can pack at the last minute as I've done it so many times!
I think that's most of us 🤣

Although I worry about forgetting charging cords, meds or failing to update my billing spreadsheet - all carry on stuff.
I don't even worry about getting everything clean before we leave, I just pack items I need to wash in a laundry bag and see to it on our first rest.
