Welcome back Steph!!! ;)

Thanks!

Checked my credit card rewards today... Thanks to Dh traveling we have $75 & $50 shell gas cards, $50 BP gas card, $25 discover gift card, points 1 free Universal admission ticket, $200 Disney gift card (Dh got the $200 Disney reward promo offer from chase i already have the card so I can't get it), $59 on my Disney rewards card, and 1 free night at a choice Hotel (for our travel night) :cool1:
So my estimated trip cost is down to $1800 :cool1:

We still have 4 months of DH traveling for work to get us more rewards. I hope to have all the gas covered with gift cards and the Halloween party tickets covered with Disney reward gift card promo & points.

Awesome!!

Added you both! :thumbsup2

okay it's June where are the October promo's.

Ditto!!

You are probally correct about when we will see another GP offer but August just seems like so long away to anyone waiting for that elusive October discount.

Yes, it seems VERY far away. I guess I will just look at it as "found" money if it does happen...

I'm always afraid I missed it or something! It would be really nice to have some sort of discount (free dining or room discount) even though I have the money for the trip. Saving SOMETHING would be awesome!

Anyone else thinking time is not passing fast enough?

Don't worry, people here on DIS always know before "normal" people about discounts!

Time is moving VERY sloooooowly. That is why we reinstated Disney Movie Theme nights at my house :rotfl:

Hi all, we want to join the planning. We will be at WL, october 8-15, it will be Dh, me, dd5, dd4, dd6 months, and my mil and fil. Please pardon my typos as I am typing on eticket as I hold a sleeping baby :)

We will be at MNSSHP on 10/11, with dinner at CRT at 5:15 that night. We also have ADRs for Chef Mickey's on 10/12 at 6:30, and Akershus on 10/14 at 12:15.

wow, awesome on all the great savings!!! :thumbsup2

I am glad we are not the only ones with a HM ghost! Our ghost is named Gary. We picked him up at Disneyland in 2004 and he has lived with us ever since. Anytime something breaks, treats get eaten or there is generally someone who needs to take the blame it is Gary who is called out as the culprit. We tried to return him on our Disneyland trips since he joined us, but my boys have said that he just visited and likes it with us better.

Maybe Gary would like to live at WDW...
LOL- love it! sounds like something my family would do or say!

Thanks!

Yea, it's an irrational fear. I mean, I check these boards daily and usually multiple times a day. So I know I will see it when it comes out. It is just a feeling of "I hope I don't miss an opportunity"... sort of like a bad dream. LoL.

I just keep asking "Is it October yet?"

I'm super sad right now. Just lost a chunk of Disney spending money fixing the car :sad1: It was the fuel pump. Boo!

So sorry  I swear my cars use to know when I had money sitting in the bank for vacation or something and would break down on me every time.

Thanks. It sucks, but nothing to do but suck it up and move on! I'll just cut back on other non-essential stuff and start saving again.

Thanks!

We are about due for one of those soon, too. Our last one was Swiss Family Robinson--I was surprised at how much the kids loved it! We had to watch it 3 times that weekend:rotfl:

I don't know if your family watched the High School Musical movies, but this reminds me of the third one in which Troy's fuel pump on his really old truck goes. They end up pushing the thing for most of the movie. :rotfl:

Has anyone else seen POTC4? We went last Sunday and of course we all loved it! We decided that we need to have a POTC marathon and rewatch the first three. Love me some Jack Sparrow!:lovestruc

We plan to take the kids tomorrow afternoon. Do you think it is okay for a 6 and 8 year old? They have seen the other 3 and like them a lot. Hubby and I thought about seeing it without them first, but we hated to spend the extra money when we knew they would end up watching it on DVD at some point anyway.:rotfl: We thought it would be neat to see the fourth one on the big screen since we have always waited for the dvd to come out with the others.

BOO is right!

I feel your pain. We had to buy a new water heater this week. We have some kind of power vent water heater so the cost of the heater+installation was $1,160!!!

We had our neighborhood garage sale today and made $345 so at least that will help cover part of the cost. But, we wanted to use the garage sale proceeds as "fun money". Guess having hot water is gonna be all the fun we have for now!

Like my mom always said "Life is what happens while you are making other plans". How true!

I reserved a family suite at All Stars 10/17-10/28. I also included the DDP with park hopping option to 10 day tix. With insurance and tax the total was $6200!!!! I am hoping for a discount soon otherwise we will be living on mac n cheese and spaghtetti for the next 4 mos!

Oops forgot that includes 4 adults ( crazy that my 13yo and almost 11yo are considered adults! ) The 2 babies don't count. They are free now.

That sounds outrageous, right? That doesn't even include airfare. Bought that separately months ago.

2 days after I made the reservation I received a discount through my email but it was pretty lame. It was based on standard room occupancy and 2 adults with a discount around 19% savings! I have until 7/1 to change my existing reservation but I'm hoping Disney will have a free dining discount for our dates.

Whatever happens we will be there and I can't wait! We will be celebrating Christopher's 1st BDay in WDW and my father's 63rd BDay! LOL.

Nice to have you in our little October family. I am impatiently waiting for the discounts to appear, too! We will pay full price, but we'd love to not have to!:rotfl:

You'll hear about the discounts on The Dis before you see them on Disney's official site so keep checking in regularly! Happy planning!:thumbsup2

Time is crawling at a snail's pace here too. Luckily summer finally decided to show up so I might get distracted by that for a while. We have a few small summer plans in the works, but I tend to focus on my Disney planning instead.

My boys are older (11 and 13) and they decided to start rewatching all the Disney movies this summer. My older son thinks it's a great idea to learn to sing at least one song from each one - he's really into Glee and music right now.

Welcome to the October Thread!

FYI about your email discount if I were you I would call and see if there is availability at the Family Suites since they are always included(the are not the suites that are excluded) but do get filled fast when there is a promotion even a 19% discount is better than nothing then if something does come out that is better you can switch again. As far as its' talking about 2 Adults, standard room occ etc that is only an example. Seriously call the sooner the better you might be able to save some $ off your room rate.

I am only booked with a 20% discount hopeing they release something better than the pin DH had but it still save me $522 on my room at the BC

Good Luck
