Sunday Oct. 9th: Check in AKL Kidani 8am; AK till 4pm; MK wishes dessert party (I hope)
Monday Oct 10th: Epcot
Tuesday Oct 11th: Epcot for YES! Class 8:30-11:30am; NAP; MNSSHP 4pm-midnight
Wednesday Oct 12th: DHS am; Epcot or MK pm
Thursday Oct 13th: WWOHP (Islands of Adventure)

it's official we are going to Disney - airfare was purchased tonight. :cool1:

Samesies! I finally bit the bullet and booked flights on Tuesday. I ended up paying $250 each from MSP on Airtran. I would have like to have paid less, of course!! However, we will have to fit in our post-wedding brunch at my parents', then drive 1.5 hrs north to the airport, get through security.... You get the idea! I had very specific times and days. Flying on Sundays doesn't help either. Its not our fault though that we want to miss as little class as possible. (FI and I are both very excited to graduate!)

Also I went ahead and got tix for MNSSHP on Thursday the 6th! :woohoo: Holla to my other Dissers that will be there that night!! :cool2: Since there was one night we would be able to go, I wanted to buy those tickets sooner rather than later!

I'm glad to have both of those booked and out of the way. Now I still need to get my park tickets. And then obsess over all my plans and make sure they're perfect of course! ;)

Btw since everyone is talking about it, we'll be there when 38 Special is performing. Too bad I have to miss on Hanson... I am sooo a child of the 90s! :rotfl: No seriously though, I am pumped to drink a LOT of wine and eat a LOT of food during F&W! (And my ticker tells me I'm at my official 4-month mark!!)

Almost the weekend, everyone- hope the rest of the week goes well for you all. :goodvibes I am getting my Disney fix next Monday by taking a quick 4 day trip to Disneyland. It's a girly only trip (Me, 2 daughters, my cousin and her daughter) and I can't wait! My cousin and her daughter have never been to Disneyland (or World, for that matter) so I can.not.wait!! to share the magic with them. :cloud9::woohoo::wizard:

I am still debating whether or not I made the right choice by booking San Angel Inn. I was wanting something "different" (ie- not steak, chicken, etc and something that served other foods than meaty macaroni, cheese pizza, etc for the kids) but the reviews are so mixed. So far I have dinners at Ohana, T-Rex (oop), 1900 Park Fare, Mama Mellrose, Garden Grill and lunch at Le Celliers. Breakfasts @ Crystal Palace, Rainforest (oop) and possibly Kona (oop) depending on how many CS credits I have leftover. Would you take 4 kids to SAI? I think my girls (8yo & 9yo) will probably like the tacos (Are these ground beef or shredded beef?). The boys might eat the quesadillas. I'm just worried b/c we have great Mexican food here in Arizona and I'm hoping I'm not disappointed. The other choice was Nine Dragons, but that gets even worse reviews. :sad2: This one ADR decisions is driving me crazy! :upsidedow

okay it's June where are the October promo's.

Grandma asked DS why we are are going back to Disney. DS response "we have to return the ghost back to his friend in the HM." Everytime something goes wrong around here we blame it on the HM ghost.

I am rejoining this thread! I stopped reading it for a while because I had thought I had decided to go to Disneyland this year instead... :scared1: and so I started checking out their countdown threads instead. Eventually though, my emotions got the best of me and made me rethink my decision, so we are BACK to the October 2011 thread! I never changed my reservation or anything or canceled any ADR's (whew!) so no new info for us, but I'm happy to be catching up on this thread again!

Hi all :flower3: Greetings from Scandinavia!

I made it all the way to page 56, but it's taken forever (or most of the afternoon, anyway!) and I figured, if I was to write anything today, I'd have to skip ahead and then catch up on the last 50-or-so pages later :goodvibes)

:flower3:
sounds like an awesome two weeks- welcome to the thread!!!

Happy Monday everybody hope everybody has a great long weekend (those of you that didn't work).

Another quick question on airfare hours. My plan so far is we would land at MCO around 1:30; what time would you extimate that we would arrive at POP's and get checked in?

I also have three ideas in my head: the first one is to just relax and enjoy the airplane ride and not worry about anything and when we get to POP just enjoy the hotel for the day maybe head to downtown Disney. Second thought get to the hotel check in then head over to Epoct (Tuesday is extended hours). Or last but not least check my watch every hour on the plane ride and the trip to POP hoping we get checked in and making to MK for MNSSHP.

Thoughts and ideas would be great.

sorry so long winded.

are you renting a car or using ME? I haven't used ME, so can't speak about that. but renting a car, i usually plan like 20 minutes to get our luggage (i've waited as long as 30!!), head over to parking garage, pick out our car (no check in at desk, we use Emerald aisle), then it is a 20 min drive to Orlando. so about an hour usually or less is what i estimate when driving myself. So assume you arrive at your hotel by 3pm at the absolute latest, MNSSHP won't start until 7pm, you could get in as early as 4pm with your ticket, so you'd have plenty of time to relax, unpack etc. and head to the MK. the only problem would be if your flight was delayed for any reason. those MNSSHP tickets are non transferrable and non refundable. On our first arrival day, we usually like to do DTD, grab lunch at Earle, get a sneak peek at things we want to buy later, then a nice character meal at one of the resorts like Chef Mickey's etc. That way we aren't rushed or pressured, and still get the disney feel with the character meal. of course if we arrive early in the day, we might do a park.

it's official we are going to Disney - airfare was purchased tonight. :cool1: Even though i have ADR's done now it's time for serious planning and of course changing the plans that i have created.
yeah, booking air always makes it feel real to me too!

SAI is not like our tex-mex here at home in Dallas. it is more authentic. So while i like some of their menu items, not everything appeals to me. I do enjoy the atmosphere there, but you aren't guaranteed a table by the water and there is even a seating area off to the side that isn't great at all. The food was quite different from what my family expected. go check out some of hte food porn threads and you can see pics of actual meals there and make a better decision? Hacienda isn't tex-mex like either. But i enjoyed it. Of course i can eat any type of mexican. just neither one was a favorite of mine. so are you looking for something at Epcot specifically? WE LOVED Via Napoli. The pizza was incredible!!

Thanks to Dh traveling we have $75 & $50 shell gas cards, $50 BP gas card, $25 discover gift card, points 1 free Universal admission ticket, $200 Disney gift card (Dh got the $200 Disney reward promo offer from chase i already have the card so I can't get it), $59 on my Disney rewards card, and 1 free night at a choice Hotel (for our travel night) :cool1:
So my estimated trip cost is down to $1800 :cool1:

We LOVE San Angel Inn - we eat Mexican food every week and so we have to have our mexican food fix!! It is in no way Tex-Mex food but it was so good last time we literally licked our plates clean!! My kids enjoy it to mostly for the atmosphere they are 4 and 8. I had the chicken with peppers in a cream sauce and my husband had steak over a poblano pepper!!

I am glad we are not the only ones with a HM ghost! Our ghost is named Gary. We picked him up at Disneyland in 2004 and he has lived with us ever since. Anytime something breaks, treats get eaten or there is generally someone who needs to take the blame it is Gary who is called out as the culprit. We tried to return him on our Disneyland trips since he joined us, but my boys have said that he just visited and likes it with us better.

Maybe Gary would like to live at WDW...

DH and I have wanted to try SAI since our first visit to Disney and this will be the year. I made a dinner reservation for lunch then changed it to dinner since the menu had a few more choices I thought we might want to try. Neither DH nor myself are big into Mexican food but like the atmosphere of the restaurant and I figure at least if we do not end up liking the food there is the F&W Fest going on that we can fill our bellies afterwards :rotfl:

In all honesty my two DS's is one reason we never at at SAI before but this is a trip with just DH & I so I probally would change rather than risk it with 4 kids.

The promo for end of August/September just came out the other day and that expires in August so I'm assuming that that is when the next set will come out. :thumbsup2

You are probally correct about when we will see another GP offer but August just seems like so long away to anyone waiting for that elusive October discount.

This will be our first Food and Wine Festival. Also our first just DH and I trip ever. Any advise?

I'm always afraid I missed it or something! It would be really nice to have some sort of discount (free dining or room discount) even though I have the money for the trip. Saving SOMETHING would be awesome!

Anyone else thinking time is not passing fast enough?
