*Doing a happy dance*

So, got word on some money I was waiting for. I will have it in time for the trip and will have plenty to do everything I want to do. I am simply so excited because I REALLY want this to be a wonderful trip for my mom. Oh gosh... I am getting sappy!

Sorry... just had to tell SOMEONE and I knew you all would understand.

hello and happy Saturday hope everybody is having a great weekend. I have been playing around with airfare and have found Delta to have a pretty good deal but our flight leaves MCO at 7:15 am. What time would we have to catch the shuttle to the airport?

thanks susan

Usually Magical Express will pick you up three hours prior to your flight time.

ugg that would mean we would have to be up at 3:00 am yuck. I am a morning person, but that means I like to get up a little after the sun, not hours before the sun.

Our flight home in Oct. is 8:00a.m. which means we will be able to check our bags at the resort but must be there exactly when they open at 5a.m. Then we will catch the ME directly. It really is a pain but there are times when we can't avoid it if we want a direct flight home.

You will probably have to take your luggage on the ME bus with you because the RAC doesn't open until 5a.m. As already stated, ME usually picks you up 3 hrs. prior to flight departure. There might be some wiggle room at that time in the morning but I'm not sure on that. Member Services might be able to answer your question on that or direct you to ME directly. Good luck!

The pp is correct about your needing to carry your luggage with you on ME and check it once you arrive at the airport.

I called ME to inquire about and early flight before booking it and was told that since RAC does not open until 5 am and you have to check into RAC at least 3 hours before your flight and up to 12 hours max before your flight it would not be possible to use RAC on an early return flight.
Rac is normally open from 5am to 12 or 1 I forget now for sure and since the closing time the day before is more than 12 hours you have no option.

I booked a later flight that was available since I like the convience of the RAC system

Here is the number for ME 1-866-599-0951

Hi Nicki -
More ADR updates :upsidedow:

I canceled Rose & Crown on Mon 10.24 and we are doing 'Ohana at 9:15p that night instead
I moved 50's Primetime to 11:15a on Fri 10.28
And added Rose & Crown to Fri 10.28 8:50p

Thanks again for keeping the list up-to-date!

Hi all :flower3: Greetings from Scandinavia!

I made it all the way to page 56, but it's taken forever (or most of the afternoon, anyway!) and I figured, if I was to write anything today, I'd have to skip ahead and then catch up on the last 50-or-so pages later :goodvibes)

So, I'd like to join this thread for planning and obsessing purposes :cool1: I'll be in WDW with my DBF (going on 10 years - yup, one more wishing for a Disney engagement :rolleyes1)

The who, when, where, what's:

DBF and myself, 34 and 32 We've been to WDW twice before - once in 2009 and in 2007 when we did only MK for one day since we were on a round trip of Florida with his parents and only had one day in Orlando. It was nowhere enough... but it was enough to make me want more! Before that, we had been to Disney in Paris a couple of times. DBF is really not all that much into Disney, but he likes for me to enjoy myself, and he's been won over by Disney signature restaurants and the ease of a Disney vacation :cloud9:

Oct. 15 to Oct. 29 Two whole weeks - yay! Airfare is sooo expensive for us, since we travel from Denmark (--> Amsterdam --> Paris --> MCO - it'll take forever!) so we can't go as often as I'd like at all :headache: and have to make the most of it when we do cross the Atlantic :worship:

Staying at POP In 2009 we spent 15 days at WDW, split between POR, POP and Poly... Long story short: We had planned to go offsite after 6 days at POR and in the end I just couldn't do it, so we booked a split stay at POP/Poly right after checking out of POR :lmao: I loved the Polynesian and would stay there again in a heartbeat, but DBF was not at all impressed  He loved POP, though, and seeing how staying there will free up a lot of money for all the neat things Disney offers, I'm very happy to let him get his way :goodvibes:

What to do
Food and Wine Festival - sooo excited! We love food, we love sampling new cuisines - tapas-sized snacks are the best!! So we will definitely be eating our way around the world on more than one occasion. Is it too ambitious to want to try something from every booth? :rolleyes1
MNSSHP! I've bought tickets for two parties - Oct. 18th and 27th. Hoping that maybe 18th won't be quite as crowded as 27th, and really wanted two nights to be able to do whatever we don't get around to do on the first night. Now I just need to convince DBF to wear a costume... and to think of some that will fit into a suitcase and into Air France's tiny luggage allowances
Signature dining! We have purchased the DDP and plan to dine at signature restaurants every other day. Last time we went, we also had the dining plan and it was altogether too much food, so this time we will make better use of the CS credits by sharing lots of meals and then get some really really good food at signatures. We're also booked at Victoria and Albert's (Main Dining Room) and can't wait to try this new experience! :lovestruc

I've made my ADRs over the weekend. Of course, I missed the 180 day mark since we didn't decide to go until this Friday. It's been a couple of hectic days getting park days planned and ADRs sorted out, but everything's good - I got what I wanted within a timeframe of an hour or so, even managed CRT on a MNSSHP night and Le Cellier no less than three nights during our stay. I cancelled two of them again, but had to book all three first, just to see them on my itinerary - last time it took two weeks of calling every day to finally land a lunch! :lmao:

So, I'm still finalizing and moving days and ADRs around, but I'm in no hurry. We have GREAT restaurants planned, the park days are more or less coming together - I'm sure we'll have a wonderful trip and really, I should just leave the plans now and stop obsessing :rotfl2:

Glad to be here - can't wait to count down alongside you guys! Thanks for reading - it got a lot longer than I expected :flower3:

WOW!!! So excited for you!! Two weeks really is necessary when you have to travel as far as you guys!! I'm not sure how up to date you are with some of the changes to the DDP, but just a heads up that LeCellier is now considered signature dining for Dinner only. So make sure you factor two TS credits into your plans. Can't wait to read your plans for the two weeks. I am trying to convince DH that we should stay 10 days next year....just the thought of planning two weeks gets me all excited :cool1:..I'll have to live vicariously through you! :thumbsup2

Happy Monday everybody hope everybody has a great long weekend (those of you that didn't work).

Another quick question on airfare hours. My plan so far is we would land at MCO around 1:30; what time would you extimate that we would arrive at POP's and get checked in?

I also have three ideas in my head: the first one is to just relax and enjoy the airplane ride and not worry about anything and when we get to POP just enjoy the hotel for the day maybe head to downtown Disney. Second thought get to the hotel check in then head over to Epoct (Tuesday is extended hours). Or last but not least check my watch every hour on the plane ride and the trip to POP hoping we get checked in and making to MK for MNSSHP.

Thoughts and ideas would be great.

sorry so long winded.

I usually estimate about an hour after the plane lands, we'll be checking in. I think, if you're up for it, you will absolutely make it to MNSSHP with plenty of time!

thanks i am hoping that is the option DH will pick, seems like a great way begin the trip, plus all the candy to eat as snacks while we are at disney.:rotfl:

Well, those are the performers who will be there during my stay! I have no idea who 38 Special is, or Roger Hodgson, and I can't remember what Jon Secada sings. :confused3 The only one I really know is Taylor Dayne, and I won't be in Epcot any of those nights! :scared1: :rotfl: It looks like the performers I'd like to see are later in the month...Boyz II Men? That would have been awesome!

oh, I feel so old. ;) Roger Hodgson was with Supertramp and they did "Goodbye Stranger" and "Take the Long Way Home" and such. I bet you'd recognize them if you heard them. I think someone remade one of their songs or sampled them recently or something like that.

Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend! We spent the weekend down the shore with some of my family at my parents' shore house. It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend and we spent a lot of time on the beach and at the boardwalk eating not so healthy foods. DD had a blast chasing after and being chased from the waves for the first time. Last year we mostly held her in the ocean, but this year I gave her a little bit of freedom to run around, as long as she was in very shallow waters and within a few steps from me. She had a fantastic time! I'm bummed to be back at work! :sad2:

Thanks for the welcome  Fingers crossed that you get to plan a 10 day stay next year :goodvibes - that would be awesome!!

Yes, I do feel incredibly privileged to get to stay for so long! I just wish I could go more often - when I see people here on DIS that go two or three times a year, or even once a year, I can't help thinking that I live in the wrong part of the world ;) I don't know if we'll be back after this trip - DBF wants to see "other parts of the world, not just Disney"

I've been reading up on the DDP and did realize that LC is now 2 TS. I've been considering just paying OOP for it, but honestly I have not done the math of the DDP completely so I don't know if it's worth the credits. If (when :rolleyes1) I move around the ADRs, I'll look at the menus and may or may not plan to go OOP at one or two meals. I just have to keep in mind that we need to use all chose QS credits, too! :rotfl:

Our schedule as it looks now:

Sat 10/15
Arrive MCO at 5.05pm. ME to POP.
Possibly DTD for EoS or just CS at the resort if we're really beat. DBF will definitely want to go to DTD, but flying/travelling really wears me out, so time will tell what I'm up for.

Sun 10/16
MK for rope drop (we'll be up early because of jetlag)
Midday pool break
EPCOT (8.20pm Le Cellier - hope to get something a little earlier)
And then DBF wants to go to Jellyrolls, so if I'm not half asleep when we leave LC, we'll go.

Mon 10/17
Epcot all day for F&WF and Illuminations (we'll arrive around noon)

Tues 10/18
Pick up rental car and go outlet shopping (I'm thinking Premium Outlets where we had a great time in 2009 - are there anyplace better?)
Afternoon pool break
4.35pm Liberty Tree Tavern (pick up bracelets beforehand)
MNSSHP

Wed 10/19
DHS (not rope drop, but we'll try for TSM fastpasses)
Leave early afternoon for a break before
5.35pm Citrico's
Then to MK For Wishes and MSEP

Thurs 10/20
Waterpark if the weather is nice
Epcot for F&WF in the late afternoon

Fri 10/21
MK, but probably not for rope drop
Afternoon: DTD for DisneyQuest, EoS
6pm La Nouba (saw it in 2009 - was amazing! DBF wants to go again!)

Sat 10/22
We're considering the Segway tour at Wilderness Lodge, but will probably just book when we get there - if we don't get it, we'll do something else
Resort-hopping - I want to check out FW and WL
5.15pm Victoria and Albert's :cloud9:
We'll probably watch Wishes from the GF before we head home

Sun 10/23
AK rope drop
Midday break
DHS for Fantasmic! (we saw F! in 2009 so might go to DTD/DQ instead - I fear DHS will be really crowded with F! and EMH going on)

Mon 10/24
Universal - mainly focusing on WWOHP
7pm Narcossee's (my last ADR - I've read so many wonderful reviews!)

Tues 10/25
AK
Epcot
7.05pm Yachtsman
Jellyrolls (if we haven't been yet)

Wed 10/26
DHS rope drop
Afternoon open
7.15pm Artist Point

Thurs 10/27
DTD? Outlet shopping? Relaxing by the pool?
Rental car return
5pm The Wave (might cancel and just do CS - I've booked two TS credits more than we have on the DDP)
MNSSHP

Fri 10/28
Go to whatever park we feel like
6.45pm CRT (our last night in the MK)

Sat 10/29
Go to whatever park we feel like in the am
Hop to MK around noon/early afternoon - I just need to say my goodbyes to the castle and Main Street :sad2:
Leave on ME around 5pm (love the late departure time!)

OMG I really need to have my coffee before I hop on the computer and start reading the DIS :rotfl2:

It was Summerlady who was leaveing for the beach today :lmao:

Nikki/Vickie...easy to get confused!
We got home this afternoon. :sad1: I can't believe how perfect the weather was! Cool ocean breezes, bright blue skies, lots of sunshine.

Thanks for the welcome  Fingers crossed that you get to plan a 10 day stay next year :goodvibes - that would be awesome!!

I've added all your ADRs to the master list on the top of page 30. :thumbsup2 I think the Segway tour is at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge. If you don't do it, I highly recommend renting a boat from the WL dock and going out on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon! It's so nice and relaxing and there are great views of the MK and the MK resorts. :thumbsup2

it's official we are going to Disney - airfare was purchased tonight. :cool1: Even though i have ADR's done now it's time for serious planning and of course changing the plans that i have created.
