I have to go look up Keens and Tevas now, no idea what they look like. I usually go with my tennis shoes for the parks and my feet get so hot, and flip flops or crocs around the resort.

I think Keens can be super cute or super ugly depending on what style/color you get :lmao: I did post on the budget board asking for some ideas about where to get them for cheaper. The best idea I found was to buy kids shoes if you can. I wear a 7.5 and I bought a 5y in girls. Someone with an 8 could wear a 6. Saved me about $40 from the adult version! Plus I like the pretty girls colors better :hippie: You can also find them online for cheaper than you can in a store. If you sign up for Ebates you can get a $10 gift card plus the money back as well. I went with the regular store so I could try them on and just ended up buying them since they were only $5 more than online.

Thanks for the info about buying girls sizes, I was just checking out the web site and they are a bit pricey especially when I am at the brink of paying off our trip and putting aside spending $ for the trip. I did see a couple styles I thought were cute have to go back now and look at girls sizes. I might check out and see where you can purchase them around here. I am not big on buying shoes online last time I did that they were a tad smaller than I would have liked but the expense of sending them back(postage) I kept them wore them twice and now they sit in my closet. Much prefer to try them on before buying

I often buy shoes off Zappos.com or shoes.com because it is free shipping and free returns. Really easy to return as well! I have plantar faciatis(sp?) and wide feet with a high arch(yay me) so I have to be careful about the shoes I buy. Sometimes I will find some I like in a shoe store, write down the info, and I can find the exact ones cheaper at Zappos or better yet, get the previous years version for even cheaper.

Subscribing!

We are headed to Pop Century on October 25 with Free Dining.
6 nights
Base tickets
Disney Dining Plan
2 connecting rooms

Me, my DH, and our two kids - DD3 and DS8.

Plans: 2 days at MK, 2 @ EP, 2 @ HS and 1/2 day at AK.

Our ADRs:

Boma on arrival day (1st time) (we want to check out AKL for possible trip next year)
Garden Grill (1st time)
Crystal Palace
Spirit of Aloha (1st time)
Sci-Fi
Akershus

As you can tell, we prefer the character meals over the meet n greets. We are trying some new restaurants this time, along with a lot of new attractions.

Now the wait begins!

First wait: until 8/18 when my bonus check comes in to pay for our trip and airfare. Right now I have priced all of us at $707 round trip from Dallas to Orlando. That's pretty awesome, so if everyone could keep their fingers crossed for 12 days, let's hope it stays that low.

:cool1: Welcome!!

I just got DH to commit to going to MNSSHP. I showed him a Jack Skellington T-shirt and he said he would wear it! So I ordered it and an Evil Queen one for myself. A T-shirt is my best hope at an attempt to get DH to dress up for the party.

Hope to be attending the Party on Oct 21st, I really do not want to buy the tickets early so I have fingers crossed they do not sell out early.

Congrats and good luck with the tickets! That's a Friday night, right?

Well... we weren't supposed to be returning to the World until May/June of next year.;) But the Free Dining bug bit us...56 FREE snacks for the Food and Wine Festival :lovestruc were calling our name...looks like we will be booking a Value for 10/26-11/2.
Woohoo!!!! Welcome!!!

I bought shoes today too! All 4 of us got Crocs and we started looking for some new sneakers. We hit a New Balance store, but they kind of sucked in terms of selection (and price!). We also went to a Nike Factory Store and I learned that Nikes run too narrow for my feet. I have to go up a half size to even sort of get a comfortable fit, so those wont work. My hubby and one of my sons had the same problem, but my older son walked out happily with two new pairs.

I have to say, the shoe thing is what I am most worried about for our trip. I have been researching like crazy to find out how to prevent foot pain during our 10 days there. It would suck royally to hit day 4 and not be able to trudge our way through the park. :scared1:

I've been considering a pair of Keens, too, but I can't buy them in Denmark so I'd have to order them online. I'm just not sure that's worth it - ordering footwear online seems to always result in returns

I did manage our last 14-day Disney vacation with a minimum of foot problems and no blisters :woohoo: One pair of sneakers, two pairs of sandals and some Crocs flip-flops meant that I could change footwear every time we were in the room. Putting on shoes again after 7 hours in the park and just one hour's rest isn't fun, but it helped a lot to put on different ones each time :thumbsup2:lmao:

Shoes are right now top of my list of concerns. As I mentioned I bought a cute pair of New Balance that were very retro looking and got them home and wore them around and discovered with socks they are a bit too snug. So I have to return them. I have a Morton's Neuroma that won't heal (it's basically a pinched nerve in the ball of my right foot). I have had cortisone shots, alcohol shots (sclerosing), and even cryosurgery to freeze the sucker into submission, but nothing has worked. I'm not ready to have the whole thing removed yet because I have heard horrible things about that surgery. Anyway, that means wearing a custom orthotic with all my shoes (which makes me weep every morning as I get dressed and look at all my beautiful heels as I put on my Clarks :sad1: ). I don't want to wear big, bulky running shoes throughout the parks but anything else seems to have too narrow of a toe box and sandals won't allow me to insert my orthotics. :confused3 So I think I'm going to have to suck it up and pay some moolah for some good Keens or Merrells or something cute but that will accept an orthotic insert. I've been on Zappos for the past hour looking (oh, such a hard thing to do! ). Might have to try that trick with the Keens girls shoes!

mss - have you looked at Zappos? Free returns might be helpful for you when shopping. I don't know how they work internationally.

I just looked. Free shipping is only on domestic orders, unfortunately. I've considered giving Ebay a try, though. :goodvibes

Still have so much planning to do for our Oct. trip. However, when it comes to the subject of shoes I have that covered. For our last trip (May 2010) I bought a pair of Olivia Crocs. I had been having trouble with heel pain and sometimes my lower back would bother me after being on my feet all day. So I was really concerned....but after wearing the Crocs in the parks and Teva Mush flip-flops around the resort I had very little discomfort. My feet actually felt better after the trip then before.

So I know what shoes I'm packing for this trip :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is doing well! Seems we are mostly in waiting mode these days. We leave in 69 days! I just ordered our costumes for MNSSHP. DH decided he didn't want to wear the crayons, which sent me on a wild goose chase I thought I had already finished. We settled on Mario (DH), Luigi (DS2), and Princess Peach (me). We will be drawing moustaches on the guys and I may see if I can find a blond wig (I'm brunette). Depends on how hot and comfortable it is! Just hope the costumes run size appropriate! And seeing that that DH decided to be Mario, he better not back out!

I just bought some very roomy shoes off Zappos that fit my orthotics. They are the Brooks Glycerin 8 and I bought them in a 8 wide. Very roomy and comfy. Check'em out:goodvibes

I hope your DH does not change his mind the costumes are cute. I am lucky just to get DH into a character tee. I had planned on getting him a Grumpy tee but then saw the Jack and he liked it so Jack it is.

Everyone must have shoes on the brain. I bought a new pair of comfy flip flops for our trip today. I bought a light weight pair of sneakers at the start of summer but haven't worn them yet. I'll need to start breaking them in. I ordered our MNSSHP tickets the other day and now need to think of what we'll wear. DD has an appointment with BBB that day so she is covered just need to come up with some character T's for DH and I. Do the park usually have halloween T's? Was wondering if I should just wait until we get there to see if we can find something.

I wondered about picking tees up once we were down there but then I happened to be on the Disney Store sight yesterday and they have tees 2for$28 so I figured that might be cheaper than if I waited till we got to the parks:confused3

I am with you on worrying about the shoe thing and the foot pain. Brent and I did 6 or 7 days last time and were pretty hard core and our feet were KILLING us! This trip we have 8 days and I'm nervous. DD12 and I can share shoes so we can switch back and forth at the park to help which is really nice. I am loving the Keens, though. I put them on today and I swear my feet sighed :cloud9:
what are keens? :confused3:)

i usually do comfy tennis shoes and alternate with good flip flops. I haven't had problems with my feet, but we also take a midday break which helps (can change socks/shoes then if needed).

Bought a new large suitcase today with the fun spinner wheels. My old mickey luggage just hasn't held up (ordered off TDS 2 years ago). so i spent some money to get something nice. Will break it in on the SD trip in 2 weeks!

I love my keens, but nothing tops flip flops, unless it's raining lol They are a water/hiking show typically with a rubber sole, and nylon ribbed covering for the foot. Do a google search for them. We bought a pair for our cruise 3 years ago, and DH is almost due for a second. All he wear everywhere besides work in the summer is keens or flip flops.

Moving out of the 80s and into the 70s.....Days that is! 79!!!!!! Oh, how I wish there were a Disney Outlet within a few hours radius. As it is the nearest Disney Store is 3 hours away!

Day 72 here!!!!!!!!!!

Time just seems to be flying and I really need to get my you know what together here :rotfl:

I'll have to check them out, thanks! I just ordered a pair of Merrell Lorelei yesterday from Zappos and expect them in within a week. I'm not sure how successful these will be as the lightweight shoes tend to not fit the orthotics well, so we'll see. I'll have to check out the Brooks Glycerins if these don't work. I'm tired of sending stuff back!! :sad2: Last trip I wore flip flops the entire time and never had an issue. This stupid neuroma is the whole problem. :headache: I know I'll wind up with big, chunky sneakers on my feet and I'll be hot and sweaty the whole time and self-conscious. I'm not vain except for my shoes!!

76 days!!! :yay:

If it makes you feel better, we specifically go out and get new big clunky new balance shoes for trips! :lmao:
