IKR! We leave for Myrtle Beach in about 2 weeks and it's actually COOLER down there!
Awwww.....How sweet of you to change your plans!:)

:bday:
have a great time in Myrtle Beach! love it there!

So what do you have left to do?

This weekend I plan on doing a little packing inventory and make a list of what else we need to get. We are not doing matching shirts, but themeing our outfits so we don't clash in pictures. The kids will have a character shirt for each park day, and we'll be in solids to coordinate (DH won't do matching). I've been buying stuff for the kids here and there so I need to see what I actually have.

I also need to look into the autograph books as I don't think i'll have time to make one.
I still need to book the rental car, buy MNSSHP tickets and put together Will's gift basket. I need to make my notecards too and also some new mickey head laminated contact things to put on my backpack and stroller. The outfit matching sounds fun! I try and theme Will's clothes to the park as well- or what characters we will meet. For Crystal Palace breakfast day, it is a Pooh shirt. for AK day, i have a mickey safari shirt etc. :thumbsup2

YEA!!!!! Doing the double digit dance today! 99 days and counting - inflating the dollar store palm trees and "breathing life" into the pink flamingos, baking a key lime pie!
I do feel for everyone induring the intense heat. I live in the mountains of Colorado and have worked with quite a few Texans, Floridians taking a respite from the heat. I, for one am desperately holding onto the summer as it is much too brief up here!

Here's to hoping for a discount announcement soon!
Dawn
hoping for discounts for all my DIS friends too! How is the weather up in the mtns for you? My BF lives in Fort collins and was bragging about the cool temps when he camped in Steamboat last weekend. no fair! I am one of those Texans (Dallas). DAy 17 of 100 degree or higher in a row now. Breaking records. oh joy. We don't go outside unless we have to or unless it involves a waterpark (and then only for like 2 hours max).

I am sorry I asked what you all had to do, after reading your lists I have added several more things to mine! :lmao:

Here are our plans so far:

Saturday 10/15- Arrive All-Star Movies around 9pm

Sunday 10/16- AK 8-12, DHS 4-7:30 Fantasmic 7:30

Monday 10/17 Epcot 9-1, MK 5-12

Tuesday 10/18 Water Park Day BB probably, Chef Mickey’s 7:50

Kanga - we are there the same week! We arrive at 11:50 am and we'll be taking the DME to POFQ.

Does anyone know about what time we can expect to arrive at the resort if we land around noon?

I have only done DME once and it took about an hour and a half from the time we landed til we got to our resort and we landed around noon I believe, mabe a little later. We were staying a BC and it seems like we made a few stops before arriving at our resort. CBR and POR if I remember right.

Thanks - this our first time flying in. We drove the last two visits. Driving takes about 12-14 hours each way, so we are ending up with two extra days in Disney by flying!

We managed to get the SWA 40th anniversary special they ran a few weeks ago and saved a bundle on what we had been seeing on flights.

I can't decide if we should do MNSSHP. We have been in October before but never been to MNSSHP. The problem is the only days we can do it is Fri. 10/7 or Mon. 10/10 (Columbus day) On Fri. my son is signed up for an early Y.E.S. program so it will be a long day. Sun night is EMH at MK and we are planning to go (we always close the park :)). So I don't know about another late night at MK on Mon. Anyone want to make a guess which night will be busier...Fri. or Mon. and for those that have gone before is it really worth it?

I still have to get passports, ours expired and dd has never had one I best get on it I know......... I need to do the envelopes for mouse service, do a packing list, pickout new luggage (mother in law getting us new for xmas early) and oh I dunno probably more lol.

I am going to vote Friday being more busy, but since I've never been period who knows ha ha. I picked a Thursday for our night, figured it was a safe bet.

It is definitely ridiculous hot! Brent is playing softball right now :scared: I stayed home on the couch in the air with the dogs. WAY too hot!

Happy Bday to my Ellie-belly today! She turned 7 :)

It's my day off today so I'm just spending the day inside. I kind-of feel like a recluse hiding in the house with all the curtains closed but a lazy day in comfort is more important.
Hope your Ellie had a great b-day!

If his cup holder comes off - stick in in the freezer then carefully chip away the frozen crayon. Same thing happened yesterday to us and that was the only thing i could think of that worked. Don't you love this weather.

Exactly what I thought since this works for gum and candle wax...

That is a fabulous idea! Thank you! But alas he has a Nautilas and the cup holder is built into the seat. IL's do have a chest freezer though....

...but sounds like that might not work. Will the crayons re-melt in the hot heat or maybe blow dry them so you can try to wipe it out?

I was also thinking it takes about and hour and half give or take the time to wait in the DME line and what order the bus stops in your resort group.

just wondering if you can eat on the bus! thinking we are going to have to grab a quick bite at the airport and don't want to get to the bus and have them say no food and make us wait for the next shuttle.

Thanks all for the bday wishes for Ellie! She had a great day yesterday...

Today, not so much! We have a community pool we have passes and I had the day off so we went to the pool. There is a rock formation thing that kids can climb on-which Ellie always wants to do. The oldest and I went back to the chairs to get on sunscreen during the break while she was playing on the rocks. All of a sudden I saw a woman holding her hand walking towards me, her scream "mommy" and then I saw the blood! :scared1: She had fallen and bashed her nose on the rocks and had one of the worst bloody noses I have ever seen! We were in the lifeguard station for a good 20 minutes getting the bleeding under control and the rest of her cuts and scrapes bandaged up. I almost passed out there was so much blood :faint: She is better now. Just sounds really nasally from her really swollen nose. I'm hoping the blood comes out of our 3 beach towels and both hers and my swimming suit. There really was a lot of blood on all of them. :laundy:

I hope everyone else had a better day!

:sad1: Aw, my Mommy heart just breaks for her! And for you! I hope her nose goes down soon! And I'm sure she was so excited and for that to happen to her. Aw, I just feel so bad. I hope she gets back on soon and gets another chance. I hope it doesn't ruin the experience for her!

Wow our flights went down! $99/flight!

:scared1: :woohoo:

Thanks! It was definitely a scary moment. She isn't going to play on the rocks anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't allow kids to play on the rocks at all anymore. They are more of a decorative thing that kids climb on more than a play thing.

Surprisingly enough today there is no swelling, no bruising, no nothing!

So will you change your flights to the new price? or can you even do that?? I need to check ours.

We are flying Southwest so I changed our flights. We have a $70/person credit now :cool1:
