Me and my BF are going to be staying at AKL Club Level and it is his first trip! We have reservations everywhere, going to Sunrise Safari, MNSSHP, La Nouba, Golf for him at The Palms, Spa treatment for me at GFR and I think that I am getting engaged while down there!

So many exciting things and it is so great reading about others excitement and good to know that I'm not the only person who can't stop talking about their trip.

Please give me any tips you can and hope to maybe run into a few of you at the parks or resort. We got a great deal off our resort price using pin and now we have enough spending to add anything else that we want. Any suggestions??

Congratulations on everything and since it is the place that dreams come true, maybe yours will too...

Don't forget Food and Wine Festival will be going on while you are there.

Thank you so much! Yes! We are doing F&WF two of our days there and I was told, since we have the DDP, we can use our snacks as food from the booth around the WS. I was unaware of it and happily surprised.

Going with some friends for the first time in like, 25 years and I cannot wait!!!

We have a friend who works at the park that we've done shows with that is getting us her 40% discount for the room. Unfortunately we JUST miss the free dining and since we're doing HP at Universal one day, it means paying for one day of dining we won't use, so the deal seems like it's not worth it (I am scared about prices for eating, not gonna lie).

Question for those of you who go regularly: It's looking like I'll have somewhere around $400 for food adn souviniers and such with me - enough? I'm not one who goes crazy with souveniers to be honest, I'm more worried about meals costing a lot. I'd really rahter not feel like I'm skimping and worrying about running out of money while there. We'll be at Disney for 4 1/2 days and HP at Universal for 1. Thoughts?

I would definitely check out the pricing chart for the restaurants you are planning to go to in Disney.

If you want to pick your dining, depending on price, use this:

I am planning on doing WWHP for one day also. I plan to just do quick service meal that should cost about $10.00 per person I'm guessing.

If you eat quick service meals you will be more than fine!! Even a nice meal thrown in will be good too! If you drink thats when it adds up!! I went on a girls trip in 07 split my room with 2 others and spent 500 total for the weekend but I did have my tickets already. Plane I got so lucky on and spent less than a 100. I also split food with my friends. we would get a couple meals and share. We had so much fun it was my ultimate favorite trip!! You will be fine! Have a great trip!

I can't believe it's only 43 days until we leave! I just hope the weather is ALOT better than it was last year. I know it was unseasonably hot last year but normally what is the average daytime temp in October? Anyone know?

found this...
October
Average high temperature: 84.6
Average low temperature: 65.8
Average precipitation: 2.42
Average humidity (1pm): 56
Record high (1986): 95
Record low (1989): 44

Thanks! I'm hoping the temps are close to this. Last year it was just miserable (in the 90's with high humidity). Our best day was a rainy day at Universal since it was pretty much empty and the rain kept things somewhat cool.

haha, very true! AND:

I just noticed dgbg, that you are staying at AKL at the same time as we are. Are you in Jambo House? I hope that we run into each other at some time maybe! :)

Yes we are CL :lovestruc 4 of the 5 days we are there, we have 3 different rooms  but I am working on getting my CL for our middle day.....

We should be the fat and happy couple stuffed from the F&W festival.

If you ever see a man with a Texas A&M ball cap on with a cute wife.... Then that is us! Please say "HI" and just ask if I am "Brandi" DgBg100106 is just a mouth full.

HAHA!! :rotfl2: I love you guys already! We are CL as well, so we will probably see you in the lounge. If you see a younger couple with rosy cheeks and goofy smiles from all the drinking at F&WF, that would be us! lol

We are on the 4th floor, I believe, because we are not DVC. We did request a king bed and arusha balcony. That would be very nice if we did meet up. If you want another couple to eat and drink around the world, definitely look us up. I think we are planning to go on Wednesday and Saturday. Let me know! :thumbsup2

Ok I will be on the lookout for you and you DH, rosy cheeks and all.:yay:

When the schedule comes on and booking starts on the 26th of August I will have a better understanding of our schedule, but sure why not. It makes getting food and finding a place to sit even easier when you have several people scouting.

:cheer2:

I have no idea what that is, please explain.

You can buy lime green mickey heads, I believe in home depot or stores like that. They are paint chips and people use them to identify themselves as a member of the DIS boards. You can attach them to bags, strollers, lanyards, put them in your hotel room window, etc.

Well that is pretty cool, I had not heard of that. Thanks for sharing.

I guess I need to go pick some of these up!
