OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2017 THREAD

Anyone know a way to get 1st showing v. 2nd showing for dining packages switched?

Specifically, I currently have 2 separate Tusker House breakfasts booked (10:35 & 10:45) to accommodate my entire party, and was able to switch both to a RoL package by dropping and picking back up. However, it gave me 2nd showing for both, and we have a 4 year old in our group who I don't think can make it that late. (His 1st time in the parks.)

Or, does anyone happen to have a RoL breakfast package on the 20th with 1st showing passes that they'd be willing to trade?

Still calling daily for an earlier Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Apt in Magic Kingdom. Sigh... :sad2:

I'm such a geek. Magicbands shipped yesterday and I've been stalking the tracking page. It says they are scheduled to be delivered next Tuesday!
I ordered a set of packing cubes this week to try out and see if I think they'll help. I've heard good things about them but never used them myself.
My ears I ordered came last week :earsgirl: and the custom shirts I ordered should come next week. (I went a bit Etsy crazy) Looks like I've got most stuff done, just trying to make sure as I'm sure something will creep up on me!

What are packing cubes?

I've heard good things about packing cubes. I have them saved on a list for Christmas gift ideas for my parents and my inlaws since they both like to travel. I was thinking of making a travel themed gift. I don't have many ideas yet besides the cubes, luggage scale and luggage (if they need it). Report back to let us know if you like them.

I feel like a slacker this trip. We didn't make any shirts. Haven't thought about outfits yet. I don't really do anything special for myself but I usually have stuff for my dd5. We have been buying her Disney themed shirts and have them set to the side for the trip. My son won't wear most shirts besides a couple of Star Wars themed ones. He's too cool for anything else. I saw some really cute Disney villain leggings last night but didn't order any. I wanted a Jack and Sally pair for my daughter but didn't think they would work for a Christmas time trip. Thought about getting myself a pair but they felt Halloween-ish and I'd rather have ones I can wear during any trip.

I'm hesitant to get packing cubes. I hear great things about them too, but I don't see how you can fill every nook and cranny in a suitcase with packing cubes. And if you just fill the nook and crannies around the cubes, then I'm not sure what the point is. I usually fill my suitcase like a puzzle. I feel cubes will prevent that.

I bought a set of packing cubes a while back when Amazon had a good deal. Still not sure what I am going to do with them. I'm packing my daughter's clothes in Ziplocks per day to make it easier on her in the mornings.

Any tips on the cubes would be good!

A bunch of Via Napoli reservations opened up the last week of Nov if any is looking!! I've been trying to get a lunch ADR there since May and snagged one for Nov 29th, but it looks like they had literally openings for every day/time. Did anyone else see there? I hope it wasn't a crazy glitch and now I'm out of a lunch for that day lol :scratchin

I figured if nothing else I can give one or two to each of my girls (7 and almost 10) so they can pack their own cube and then we can put them in the suitcase so stuff doesn't get mixed up and jumbled. Thought it would make it easier to find stuff when we get there too without them having to empty the whole suitcase.
I could also see using them to be able to get to stuff underneath without messing up the stuff on top.

Yes, I like that idea! I just don't know if being limited to the cube dimensions help or hinder the packing.

I got packing cubes for our trip to Disney last December and LOVED them. The trick was to get packing cubes in different sizes! That way you can fill up all the space. They actually made our packing so much more efficient, and super easy to unpack each person's stuff in the hotel room. I was super nerdy and got us different colored cubes too, so that it was easy to tell my cubes from my husbands and my kids!

Why can't I visualize the efficiency??? LOL. I fill up all the space anyway. I really want to get cubes and make them work for us, I just don't see the difference. Everything is still going in the same space.

Our kids have their own suitcases, too. And I can't see using the cubes in the resort drawers, as then you have to unzip each cube to get your stuff each time.

I'm usually the one with all the gadgets and bins, etc for anything and everything. I'm known for my organization skills. I'm not sure why I can't handle the packing cube scenario. LOL.
