***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

You all are making me feel like a wimp for complaining about the 1-2" we are forecasted to get tonight in Minnesota! Supposedly we enjoy the snow up here, but I am not native and HATE it!
I am working on the Christmas cards tonight and hope they can go out tomorrow. I had to send DH into town to get a new ink cartridge for the printer. Although I'm not sure staying back with the kids was better than dealing with the weekend Christmas-shopping crowds.
I do not do anything reptilian so I can't say I enjoyed the critters. Although they didn't bother me.
We have been thinking about where we would stay on our next trip. If free dining came into the deal, we would follow that. I would be fine with Coronado or POR, but would want a preferred room. If room only discounts are available, I want to do the split stay, POFQ and the Poly. Coronado was ok for us. Kids loved the pool which is important to us. Our biggest complaint was being so far from the main building. DH is a huge pop drinker and because he didn't want to walk to refill the mugs, he just bought the crazy expensive vending machine bottles. We could have the same problem at POR. So preferred availability will be the deciding factor.
I did not get the Disney Yule DVD. I was very tempted but am buying so many other things right now. We ordered the Elsa and Anna Barbie-type dolls from Disney merchandising a few days ago now too. They make a point to say it is not guaranteed before Christmas, but our other items came in just a little over a week, with only standard shipping. I am hopeful for more Disney magic they will come in time.
And I doubt I will attempt the GF gingerbread. I don't have a ton of time off before Christmas. DH works the weekend before Christmas so thought it might be a fun thing to try. If only I had a mickey-shaped cookie cutter..... I might as well put Disney merchandising in my contact list!

I thought Minnesota already got clobbered with snow. Hmmm got that wrong I guess. The snow doesn't bother me as much as the ice. At least in snow you can walk and drive. Ice is a scary thing.

Hmmm I missed what the Disney Yule DVD is all about. I hope you do get your Disney magic.

I don't even feel like baking muffins with the bananas that are getting over ripe never mine cutting out cookies.
Did I mention that I went to CVS with DH a week or so once we were back from Disney and he spotted a "Mickey Waffle machine" and insisted we buy it.
I have a waffle machine and rarely use it so the idea of another gadget wasn't on my list but he was insisting so I bought it. I really have to make sure I use it soon so the guilt passes. LOL

Had a nice visit with friends at the neighbors house today. I laughed when I saw that they had a Disney Christmas tree. Cute ornaments. I didn't realize they were that into Disney. They were the ones that watched my house for us when we were gone. Darn if I knew I would have got them a Disney ornament. Oh well. I technically did. I got them one from the gingerbread house at GF. :)

I should clarify, SOUTHERN Minnesota! We haven't had snow too bad, just incredibly cold, double-digit below zero windchills.

Cara, you will love snow tires. We bought some lady year for my fwd SUV and it most definitely helps. Expensive but you can't put a price on car safety.

Sounds like everyone is getting close to being all set for Christmas!

I never called merchandising for my big mug or DHs hat because I bought some extra presents for my kids from the Disney store online instead and it was already pricey! My kids don't have much Disney merchandise at all so it's okay...right? ;) ;)

Most Canadians get a channel around Christmas that has holiday music and a Yule log fireplace running 24/7.

I haven't done any baking. I'm a little disappointed in myself but I just can't find the time this year :(. I did buy a gingerbread house kit for the kids though.

DH bought a gingerbread house kit last night. It's already assembled even so all we have to do is decorate it. Then he tells me there was a Disney gingerbread house kit too. I was so mad he didn't buy that one!

I am kicking myself for not buying more from the Disney store the day they had free shipping. I want the Frozen flatware set. It's $6.95. Shipping is $4.95. I just can't do that. Well, we'll see come Wednesday, the last day for standard shipping to arrive in time. I might convince myself DD really needs them, shipping charges and all.

I posted this on the free dining site a lot of us follow, so sorry for the double post, but have to share my positive experience!
I ordered my photopass CD and then noticed pictures with Snow White were missing. It took them two tries (one even was on a Sunday!) but they found them! Then I emailed them explaining the situation and asked if I could be allowed to download those pictures or if a new CD could be sent. No response came, just an email confirmation of a new CD! Just wishing I had made some edits with the backgrounds before I emailed them but I'm not complaining. Disney is awesome!!!

Oh no! After reading this, I realized we had pictures taken with Snow White too and they weren't in my photos.:worried: And of course after much procrastinating, I finally edited my photos and ordered my Photopass+ CD last night before my 45 days were set to expire. Oh well. We really went into that photo op to get Rapunzel's pic anyway.

So I'm finally getting caught up on life. I feel like it has taken forever. I miss you guys!
The kids and I just FINALLY finished decorating the tree tonight. Which made me think about those Mickey head ornaments that I didn't get while I was there, so I ordered them. ;) It also reminded me of the Disney Yule Log DVD, but I decided against spending the extra money. We are always happy listening to/watching the Celtic Woman Christmas specials anyway.
I also finally finished my photopass stuff. Yay! Christmas cards will be going out late this year since I wanted to use one of those pics. I have only received one card myself so far so hopefully everyone else is running late as well.

As I stated above, I just last night finished my Photopass+ CD and ordered cards at the same time too, so my cards will be out late as well.:rolleyes1 I really didn't see any ornaments at WDW that I really fell in love with, and I always get one to put on the tree to commemorate a trip there. We also buy ornaments from any other special things we do during the year, so that when we decorate our tree, we recall special family moments. When I was ordering the CD, I really liked the dated ornament that we could put our photo on; we don't have anything like that on the tree. So it was a productive night--CD, Christmas cards, and our ornament done.:goodvibes Now if only my shopping and wrapping was done, or the baby room, or baby clothes, etc...:(

What type of flat wear set? I saw some at Target for $9.99.

Ok I didn't have a bad day, but something is brewing and making me cranky. So I turn to DIS to distract me.

If any of you are having a day that you need to live in my Fantasy then I'll let you help me dream/plan my solo trip. I'm looking for suggestions in the form of "If I was planning a solo trip to Disney, on my to do list would be......."

I know some of you aren't planning another trip for a while and I'm ok with you pretending my trip is yours. LOL I'm looking to do a "bucket list" kind of check list. All I know is I don't want my short 4 days there to be out of control running from one thing to another. I do want some relaxing to happen too. I plan to do some park bench sitting and people watching. I was thinking when I'm at Epcot I might do some Selfies or having someone take a picture of me with a CM from each country. I'm putting together a mission. Maybe even a scavenger hunt (maybe there was something you really liked that you can tell me about and I have to find it when I get to that park. Something not obvious but you found cool to see.) kind of thing when I'm in the parks.

Now I can dream and plan all I want but if I have "rope drop" on my list and that morning I feel like sleeping in, I will. I read on a blog that someone that did a solo trip went to the bus stop and took the first park bus that came and started at that park. LOL I might do that one day.

So if you have time, day dream and send me your suggestions. I really would love to hear your Fantasy solo trip. Thanks

Just a kids fork and spoon, Elsa is on one and Anna is on the other. Silly, but she is not a good eater, but if she has her Doc McStuffins set, she eats better. Was hoping for similar results with a Frozen set.

On a solo trip these would be on my list:

-keys to kingdom tour.
-behind the seeds tour.
-eating a fully loaded funnel cake under an umbrella as leisurely as I see fit.
-checking out a spa at one of the hotels.
-lots of picture taking.
-shopping :).
-certain restaurants I've always wanted to try but not family friendly at our stage.
-eating a snack and sitting on those rocking chairs at MK.
-Liberty boat.

Thanks! I have done Keys twice now. I'm good. LOL
I have to look at behind the seeds cause I can't remember why we didn't do it this time.
LOL on the funnel cake. Honestly I've never looked at what a funnel cake was so I'll put that on my list. LOL sounds so bad.
Was looking at Spa prices and not sure I can justify since I'm already doing the vacation. BUT it's on my list with a ? Definely would love to take the afternoon instead of a nap, a massage. LOL
Pictures on the list. :)
Absolutely shopping!
Ya was thinking of looking at Epcot restaurants in countries.
Now the rocking chairs caught my interest. I need to find those cause I read about them elsewhere. hmmm
Never been on Liberty boat either. Is that the white one inside MK?

You know what I've never done is Tom Sewers Island. In all my visits. I have to find out what that is all about. Hubby and I were suppose to do that this last trip but for some reason we were so busy getting to FP+ and ADRs we never got over there. Thanks for the reminder.

Loved your list. most were on my list or have been added. THANKS SO MUCH. Love the input.

I received my cards yesterday already! I thought they would take longer. And we got the photo ornaments also! They turned out pretty nice.
Now get those cards out and start working on the baby room!

OMG! I can't believe you've never tried funnel cake! Fried dough with powdered sugar...what's not to like!
Oooh. I'd love to do Tom Sawyer Island too. I would probably want to do that with my oldest though. He usually likes that sort of thing. Let me know what it is like.
I will totally be living vicariously through you and your upcoming trip, so make sure you post every part of planning!
I think I would stay up late every night watching fireworks, because well, I wouldn't have to carry a tired child home. : ) Just let the show take me away to a magical place since I wouldn't constantly be worried about any of the kids. A few nice dinners, at least a one night stay at a deluxe resort(probably Beach Club because I fell in love with it when I used to go to sales meeting there every year), but maybe Grand Floridian. Doing something special at Epcot does sound like a good idea, that is my favorite park. Spending more time at DTD shopping, I did none this trip. I'd actually get to go on some of the grown up rides . Just doing what I want to do, I guess. I bet I'd finally get to try a Dole Whip, since I could just eat where I want to. Honestly, I would just be wondering around soaking up the atmosphere most of the time, probably looking lost!

Giggles! Looking lost is probably what I'll look like. I was telling my oldest with ASD that when I go on my next vacation my goal is to meet a lot of people from a lot of different places and report back a fact about where they live. He smiled. When we drove to florida he drew a map and colored in each state that we drove through. I guess maybe we'll have to get a world map and mark that up. Can you see me inviting people to be in my "vacation journal". LOL

I actually was just looking at Snapfish.com and looking at the prices of photobooks. The freestyle book took my interest. I'm going to make one from the past trip and maybe if I get enough good pictures of other people with me, I can do a little report of who they are and from where and the special fact. That would be a fun souvenir. I hope I don't chicken out.

Made my final payment today after I shoveled the stairs and scraped my car off to bring it to the mechanic for an oil change.

My friend got the Photopass from our trip and I wish I would have got in more pictures with just my husband but what we did get will make a great photobook.

Thanks for you suggestions. I'm only gonna stay at POR since I'm only there a few days I don't want to bop around. I would like to stay at GF someday but preferable with DH. He's jealous enough I'm at POR without him. I so regret I didn't work harder to stay there instead of CSR. Oh well. Just more reason to go back. :) As long as my son's college lets me use my Disney Visa to pay his tuition bills, it won't take long to be able to earn enough points to go back. :cool1::cool1:

ok gonna go back to watching Xfactor.

LOL I forgot to comment. Now that you word it as Fried dough, of course I've had that. At the beach. But when she said Funnel cake loaded, it was the loaded part I wasn't familiar. I've pretty much done the fried dough with the powered sugar but that was at least 20 years ago my last.
When my boys were younger, they were Gluten free (one still is) so we didn't do the standard beach/carnival food options. Unless of course I did my version here which I have to say I have had some yummy successes.

And I'm again now looking more excited about this trip because of people like you that haven't done Tom Sawyer either. I have no idea what it is. I hope I'm not disappointed. But honestly glad to have people confirm the whole idea of being there for me and not to keep others happy.

I can't wait to do my meeting people journal. The more I think about it the more excited I am. LOL

Hi all.
I'm in a dilemma. DH and I didn't have a little girl to do the dress up thing with.
However we were blessed with a Goddaughter through my husbands good friend. My being a Disney lover (not expert) and especially enjoying Princess themed things, this was an awesome chance to do the dress up gifts.
Well this young lady is 5 now and I'm limited on time that she will still enjoy the princess ideas. I was at Walmart this season and hit a sale of their Disney Princess dresses. I was able to get her favorite, Merida, dress but am baffled as to what shoes she wears. I was going to pick her up some "brown boots" to wear but then saw at the Disney store they sell Glitter gold gladiator shoes. And of course the dress is even more amazing.

To be more clear, the dress I got was the lighter aqua color but I now see from google images the brown seems to be with the darker teal dress. I'm guessing Merida ,as most princess wardrobes would have, has more than one dress.

Instead of brown boots I did find some very cute brown flats with the elastic across the front.

Any suggestions. The dress does have the gold sparkly stuff on it. Should I be looking for at least gold flats? The brown ones she can wear with anything and again were not expensive so I'm not overly concerned, and love buying little girl things so they won't be returned anyway. LOL

I just hate to spend more than I need to at this point because we did buy other things, including a Rapunzel dress and accessory set.

Oh how I wish they would stay young and love the dress up stuff much longer.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hmm. After having 2 boys, I have to say it is fun to have a girl to dress up too. Ill get to that in a minute
As for your question, in my experience, little girls are all about the sparkle, so if you see some, as impractical as they are, go for them instead of the brown. : )
So, back to dressing up my girl. Remember my story about how my daughter got really upset after the dreams come true parade because her dream would never come true because she wanted to be a mermaid? We went to see Ariel in her grotto immediately after and she told her she would talk to King Triton about it. Well, apparently, they got together with Santa ( that's my story anyway) because I just received a beautiful fuschia mermaid tail in the mail yesterday! The kind that you can add a monofim too and actually swim with in water! If I figure out how post a picture I will. I soooo excited and can't wait to see he race when she sees it!
Oh, and you totally deserve this February trip! Besides, I have to live vicariously through someone till I can get there myself one day alone! Actually, I'd be happy with the adult sisters trip my sisters and I have been dreaming about!

I don't know who will be more excited when my daughter is 3 and can do the Bippidy Boppity boutique - me or her! I can't wait for her to so it. We already have discussions on if she wants to be Aurora, Rapunzel, or now --Elsa!
It will be so cute to see her face when she gets the mermaid tail! If you figure pictures out, please post!

Um big girls are all about sparkle too. :)

Ok I'll look for the gold sparkle shoes. These other ones are too cute to ruin until I can't find the gold sparkly ones at reasonable price. I can't bring myself to pay the $17 for the ones at Disney store. The good thing is that I don't see him until after Christmas so I have a little time to look still. LOL Or spray and glitter up these shoes. LOL Goddaddy is pretty good with spray paint....hmmmmm. LOL

That Fin sounds really cute. I wonder if any website has connection with the Santa/Ariel line and you could send us that link. :lmao: I so would love to see her face and hear that story.

Thanks so much for living through me. It means a lot. This trip I can't really talk about it as key family members have not been told "yet" that I am going again so soon. I'm glad it's only 4 days cause I don't think I could go a whole week alone. I'm kind of wishing my DH was joining me but also feeling this is something I need to do for so many reasons on so many levels.

Well we are ending 2013 with
- 25th Wedding anniversary Disney trip
- DH getting an honors award at work
- DS(19) finishing his 3rd semester at college with all "A"s. (2 are "A+")
-DS (21) getting the student of the month award at his program and handling what usually is very difficult time of year AWESOME.
AND I was just telling my MIL and said "Hmm everyone is getting an award I wonder where mine is?" And she told me she gives me "Mother of the year".
Now I'm feeling the title isn't as important as who gave it to me. Wow.

Tonight if DH gets home early enough, we are going to see either Frozen or Saving Mr. Banks. I don't if I'm more excited to be going on a date or seeing the movies. Double yay!

Thanks again on the brown vs gold thing. You confirmed my thinking.
