***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

Giggles. Took me a minute to figure out how I missed out on "hog" chocolate. :rotfl2: Then again I missed out on hot chocolate too because we had an awesome dinner at Tony's so I wasn't in the mood for hot chocolate or cookies.

Now I wish I would have got some. Off topic but I did try the salted caramel Duncan's one once I was home and yummo.
Would love the recipe too or if someone has a really good one to share.

BTW, that's not snoap outside today. sigh Funny how when it was hot and humid down in WDW I was ok with coming home, but now I'm ready to go back to WDW. LOL

Sorry, I posted on my phone and that darn keyboard changes what I type, lol.

So I'm finally getting caught up on life. I feel like it has taken forever. I miss you guys!
The kids and I just FINALLY finished decorating the tree tonight. Which made me think about those Mickey head ornaments that I didn't get while I was there, so I ordered them. ;) It also reminded me of the Disney Yule Log DVD, but I decided against spending the extra money. We are always happy listening to/watching the Celtic Woman Christmas specials anyway.
I also finally finished my photopass stuff. Yay! Christmas cards will be going out late this year since I wanted to use one of those pics. I have only received one card myself so far so hopefully everyone else is running late as well.

Cara, I'm right there with you, taking a while to catch back up. Since we got back I've been super busy with work, and even though a couple of the kids' activities stopped, others have kept us busy in the evenings and weekends. We also finally went and cut our tree down this past weekend and got it decorated, I cleaned and decorated the house on one of my days off last week, and since it's been rainy on like every night he's had free, DH is finally going to get the rest of the lights up outside tonight! We did all enjoy putting our ornaments up since a lot of them are Disney.
Older DS had his Christmas concert last week, he marched in the town Christmas parade this past weekend, which is always fun to watch and gets you in the holiday spirit, and younger DS has his concert next week. I did some holiday baking over the weekend and am finishing up today since I'm off, and older DS and his girlfriend baked some cookies yesterday to send to troops in Afghanistan for JROTC, since one of the boys' brothers is stationed over there with his unit.
I've bought all the presents we have to send, just waiting on a few to come in and then I'll be making a trip to the post office to mail them. Still have a few little things to get for the kids and stuff for my team at work, but I'll take care of that next week. For some reason I always like to spread out the shopping.
We have our work "party" next Friday and all of us on the leadership team are making something Italian for a main dish. I'm making spinach lasagna since I know there's some people who don't eat meat (and since I really like it too:) The boys have their Scout party next week too so we're doing a pot luck and gift exchange. DH wants to treat his guys at work one day the week of Christmas too so I'll make something for them as well.
We still have to go visit the Festival of Lights at our local county park, plus there's some movies coming out we want to see- mainly 'Saving Mr. Banks' and 'The Hobbitt.' Whew, this time of year is jammed packed but so much fun! I hope it doesn't go by too fast.
What's everyone else up to now that your Disney trip is over? Anyone pick up any cool ornaments or decorations?

I have my cards but haven't sent them yet so I think you're fine.
I'm glad you ordered the ornaments. Will they make it in time for this year?
I will have to google Disney Yule Log as I have never heard of it.

So far I got 4 cards but all of them are from "childless" people. LOL
I was going to use a picture from Disney for our Christmas cards but my friend has been in charge of the CD and well she didn't call yet so scratch that idea. I might print one from my phone and send it to some people.

It has been very busy since we got home. Today my car is getting first time ever snow tires. I've always been told with front wheel drive you only need all season tires. Well I've had it with not having traction in even the littlest of snow covering. So I'm doing what I have to do to keep myself and the kiddos safe.

Most gifts are bought and here. I just have to organize and wrap.
My son came home from college last night. Yay! I missed him.
He was here for Thanksgiving but it's still nice to know he will be here for a month. I will need to go Christmas Shopping with him next week.

I really miss all of you posting. It's really weird to not get emails that there are new posts. The February group is very quiet compared to what here was like. Then again maybe in January they will start chatting more.
I'm so excited to be staying at POR. I wish I would have worked harder to get us at POR for November. My friend was not impressed with CSR and says that it didn't make her want to be on property for their 2015 week. Oh well.

Ok gotta run and get some things done.
Have a great day!

Oh btw Did I tell you I ordered a Disney ornament to remember our trip? I collect Precious Moments so I got Cinderella and her Prince. Was finding it but it always was like $70 and I didn't want to invest that kind of money. I found on Ebay someone selling for $30 so I grabbed it.
It was the first ornament I was putting on the tree and pout, I dropped it. Cinderella's head broke off. Fortunately it was a clean break so DH was able to use super glue and put her back together and you can't really see the break, but I will always remember she (I) lost my head.

Ok so I did buy a gingerbread shingle & so don't know whether to eat it or keep it as a souvenir. Anyone who has purchased one did you eat it or keep it?

We bought a shingle when we were there and I'm pretty sure my kid ate it before I even knew we bought it. I was up at Basin buying soap and when I came down he was eating something.

I am having even more post-trip Disney magic. My photopass experience was amazing, and now Disney Merchandising has been too! We ordered the Magic Kingdom Storybook and the coffee scoop I wished I had bought when we were there. Told it would not be here by Christmas, but that was no big deal as paying the air shipping wasn't worth it. A box came today, but inside was my scoop and a coffee cup. The order slip clearly said scoop and book so I called. The guy was awesome. Referred to the cup as my "bonus" and is shipping the book out as soon as they can. The best part -- I had also wanted a coffee cup but didn't get one and decided it could wait until next trip -- now I don't have to!!!

I bought 3. Gave one to my friend who wasn't with us the night we were there. The second I ate. And then when I got home I started eating the 3rd. But had forgot about it until tonight. Only ate half so far. LOL
How would you keep it as a souvenir? I would imagine eventually mold would find it's way to the shingle and it would be wasted. I say eat it! yum

LOL on the Disney pixie dust. Glad you got your coffee cup. :goodvibes

Oh never thought of the mold. Eek!!! Eating it it is then, if it's still good. Lol. I bought it on Nov 23rd. :)

I bought mine before you and I still plan to eat the remaining half so I'm sure you are good to go. My guess is being gingerbread it has a decent shelf life to get through to Christmas.

Ok now I'm hungry. Gotta find that other half.

Has anyone made their own gingerbread using the disney recipe? It has a lot of ingredients I would need to buy so just wondering if it would turn out before I go buy it all.

We bought a gingerbread man for DGS at the Contemporary. He liked it and ate it all except for a tiny sample he let me try. (He didn't trust Grandpa to take a tiny bite so DH didn't get any, lol!) I didn't care for it; I much prefer my crunchier recipe. I think the recipe used at the Contemporary may be completely different than the one at the Grand Floridian. At GF they look more like my traditional recipe instead of dark and shiny like at the CR. I did get the pastry chef's autograph at the CR since he was sitting there by the gingerbread tree when we stopped to see it. He was very pleasant to talk to.

We bought a Mickey and Minnie ornament for the Christmas shop at magic kingdom. It's one of the old fashioned ones Mickey in a red top hat, off white gold and dark red :) it's dated..i don't know how to put pics here but it's very cute, can't wait to add it to our tree tonight!

Yup. Same here. All Christmas cards have been from childless people. Still waiting for mine to send out.
Sorry about your ornament. But so glad she was at least fixable.
I wish you stayed at POR too. We probably would have seen each other! I do love it there. I fell in love when I went with my sister's family in 2000. I think might try the Cabins next time though. My oldest was loving all the little creatures at POR, I figure they would
Have to have some there too. : ). He still tells everyone about the little frog that greeted us at our door every night after coming back from the parks sitting on our door handle. He worries that he's lonely and misses us. Ill have to tell him I know someone who will be there to visit our little friend soon. : )

Yes, they should make it in time. The kids will be so happy to have hidden Mickeys on our tree!
So, did you get the Yule Log? I want to hear how it is!

Ewwww. I just let out a loud ewww and my husband laughed when I explained that I will not be happy to see any live creature on my door handle.
He said "It might be a prince" and then said "But you are married so no kissing to find out". LOL I reassured him I was kissing no frog to find a prince.

I was told by the CM to request Magnolia Bend area. I do love the mansion area vs the more wooded area. I only have gone for a walk from POFQ back in 2010 so I'm not familiar with POR but know I feel in love with the mansions. I so wish I would have kept calling back and trying to get us moved to POR for November. Oh well. We were not at the resorts much other than sleep so.

We got about 10 inches of snow last night. Everything out there is white. The ad at the top of this page is Santa sitting and sunning himself. As much as I would like to be in the warmth, I am hoping that February is more humidity friendly for me. I know I will not be as crazy busy walking around and will be taking time to relax. So that will make a difference.

Ok off to prepare for a Christmas Open house party at a neighbors house.
Have a great weekend everyone.

OH!! to the person that asked about the recipe for the GF gingerbread. Nope never made a gingerbread house so I can't compare. The shingle I bought from GF was good but I can't say my favorite cookie.

We actually really enjoyed seeing the little critters. Now if they came in the room I'm sure I'd think differently. I like your husband. : ) I told the kids pretty much the same thing. That it was probably just Naveen looking for Tiana! Hey, Disney is VERY thorough with their theming you know!
Only four inches of the white stuff here in PA....

I'm so jealous when I look out the window and see that my neighbors got their driveway down to the black top. DH worked until 8pm or later this week and the slushy icy stuff was too heavy for me to clean up. So we have snow and we have ice under that. YUCK! I officially walk like an old lady now. So afraid to fall since my back is already a mess.

Oh well this is Massachusetts and this is what we get. I just have to focus on my winter will get a break in February.
