OFFICIAL - NON SPOILER Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Premieres 2/20/11

It could only be cheating if it were against the rules. Since there was no penalty, the producers obviously don't think of it as cheating.

This sums it up. If it's not against the rules, it is within the rules of the game. No holier than thou attitude is going to change what the rules are in this round of the competition.

I could care less what the producers think. There are many instances in life where cheating isn't against the rules but is still wrong. This is one of those instances.

Then why do you watch the show?

what i dont understand is if the globetrotters had already checked in and it was an elimination round why did they make the cowboys do the cheese challenge? on past seasons they just had the team go directly to the check in without having to do the challenge. was it because it was a uturn?

Maybe it was their integrity, finish what you start.

When Phil reads a road block-and Phil did say, "if the number of kilometers is not correct, you have to go back to the beginning of the route, until you get the correct number. The rule was broken, and it is really taking the fun out of watching this season, of AR.

:lmao:

I'm an episode behind. I opened up this thread and, well, you just never know what you're going to get around here.
I would have said Cowboys but didn't want anyone to misunderstand who I was enquiring about. ;)

I can't stand Kent, we whines more than a 5 year old and he is a man for godsake! I would had choke him long time ago, the chery on the cake was when she had to carry his lazy A on the luggage cart. He should be ashamed.

Last night my DS11 and I were talking about how ridiculous it was that a guy would act like that and my DD7 said "What guy" I said Kent the guy with the black hair who is with the pink haired girl My DD said "THAT'S A GUY!!!! I thought that was a girl" :lmao::rotfl2: She still doesn't really believe me that Kent is a guy

I think the producers were counting on two teams using the U-turn and thus creating drama with who can eat the cheese the fastest. What would have made this episode more exciting would have been if the tasks were flip-flopped. Do the U-Turn tasks first - then that still left the roadblock. Would more teams have used the U-Turn if they knew for sure there was a lot more racing to do. It would have also eliminated the bunching which led to shared information with the correct answer.
I also think that while sharing the information isn't exciting television, it would be hard to monitor. You might think that it would be ok if two teams work together, but how much working together constitutes actually working together. Flight Time and Gary actually went to the end of the roadblock together. Would that be considered working together? Or actually, the Jet and Gary shared information on how much milage they had. Would that be considered working together, even though Jet later took off without Gary? I can see how that would get complicated.
Jet and Cord said they were actually only a couple of minutes behind the GTs on the way to the U-Turn. Given that the GTs were in the lead to the pitstop last week but started out 12 minutes behind Justin and Zev, it was a very good move to U-Turn them.

Zev and Justin and the Globetrotters have been "helping" each other for most of this season, I have no problem with this at all. There are always alliances that form in each season, some are just more obvious than others.

Wow. Surprised at the controversy over sharing answers. Maybe one day the producers will make "no sharing" one of the rules. Until then, it's fair. Quite frankly, I thought it was smart play for them to team up together to get the cowboys out. It may have been their only chance to eliminate those guys.

Information has been shared throughout the years on AR, but it does seems excessive this year and I think its because this is the second go around for these teams. Some of them are friends, which will lead to more info sharing. I think the next race when we're back to strangers racing against each other, we'll see less of that.

Even though I liked the cowboys, I do not blame the GT's one bit for u-turning them. It was good game play.

I think most of us realize that it is within the rules and therefore isn't cheating. I also realize that it is smart game play to use whatever allowable means necessary to eliminate the stronger teams. I just don't care for it. It makes for a BORING race. I like the cowboys and was rooting for them. That is no secret, but I would feel the same way even if it was another team that was out because of it. OTOH, I also understand working together to help each other along. It would also be pretty boring if one team ran away with the whole thing -- like that season the brother and sister team won. They were always so far ahead that I don't even know their names. I don't think that would've been the case with the cowboys. I like 'em, but they were often behind because of their own doing and not because of others. BOttom line though... I do hope the producers will consider making an outright giving the answers to another team against the rules for future seasons.

Will be interesting to see how people vote, as the poll stays open.

Right now, it's only had 45 voters, but 40 of them anti sharing.

Interesting. Is there a poll about equalizing flights? I hate those. :headache: I know it makes for better tv but I really hate to see a team lose an earned lead.

Don't see one for that. DH hates those flights/buses/trains/boats equalizers with a passion.

Also, if you look at the TAR general discussions board - there are several messages talking about the who cheating/sharing info deal. In reading those, it looks like the majority are calling it cheating. It will be interesting to see what the powers to be do for next season.

They can call it cheating until they are blue in the face; it's not against the current rules so it isn't cheating.

I can understand people not liking it but calling it cheating is simply an emotional response to having a favourite team ousted. I bet that if it had been the Pinks who were the victim of this so-called "cheating", there wouldn't be as many people up-in-arms.

I totally agree and have been thinking the same thing about the Pinks.
