OFFICIAL - NON SPOILER Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Premieres 2/20/11

what i dont understand is if the globetrotters had already checked in and it was an elimination round why did they make the cowboys do the cheese challenge? on past seasons they just had the team go directly to the check in without having to do the challenge. was it because it was a uturn?

Giving the answer to all teams except the cowboys.

The show needs to put in a penalty for sharing answers. You CANNOT DO THAT!!!!!!!

I agree working together to get the answer is one thing, but outright giving it someone is completely different. I realize he did nothing "wrong" or "against the rules" by doing it, but I do hope it is a rule they will consider putting in place for future seasons. Plus I don't think it makes for a very exciting race.

I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be. The Cowboys had been falling in my estimation for a while. It seemed that their head was just not in the game this time compared to the last time and they made a lot of foolish mistakes. One (getting lost and then blowing off Gary) finally caught up with them. If he had stayed WITH Gary then they would have all had the answer together and it would have been the Globetrotters in last place.

I agree. They were not as on the ball this time as they were last time. Then I got to thinking about it and wondered if that was the case or is this is another point where editing came into play. We know at least 2 other teams would've had to redo the challenge last night. Maybe it was harder than it looked. We also know there were other times this happened and the cowboys had to redo something while other teams moved ahead because of someone giving them an answer. Just how much did this happen? Did this make the cowboys appear to be not in it as much when other teams were perhaps messing up just as much. I don't know. Just wondering. I also missed the part where he left Gary. Did he actually leave him or did Gary just not keep up with him and they just got separated?

Anyway, I realize nobody "cheated" or anything, but I hope it will be considered cheating in future seasons. It just makes for an uninteresting race.

Oh, and about them having to finish the u-turn and report to Phil. I'm sure it was to create a little bit of suspense. If they have to finish, does that mean it was a non-elimination round? We also don't know if they actually finished. We didn't see the fondue pot. We producers could've told them to just go ahead and report to Phil, but we didn't see that part. WHo knows? I think reality is not often the way it seems in reality tv.

So disappointed to see the Cowboys go. :sad1: They were my favorite team. Now I'll be cheering for Gary and Mallory, and Zev and Justin. Anyone but the Globetrotters, since they U-turned the Cowboys and certainly didn't have to. :( Tired of Kent's whining too. I can't believe he rode in the luggage cart and let Vyxsin pull him. Wow. How lazy can you get?

I was watching the challenge only halfway myself. I just re-watched it Gary caught up with Jett. Jett said that he had gotten lost and Gary said that he would go along with Jett and "Draft him like the Tour de France". Then Jett says that he has to go and scoots off leaving Gary behind. Gary meets up with Vyxsin and says to her "I caught up with Jett, but he left me". If Jett and hung with Gary either (1) they would have both been lost or (2) they would have both been told by Big Easy the real distance.

The question is, did the Globetrotters KNOW they didn't have to U-Turn the Cowboys? Did they KNOW they were headed for the pit stop? All they knew is that they were in 2nd to last place and that the Cowboys were behind them. I don't blame them one bit for U-Turning such a strong team. Even though the Cowboys had been off their game, they showed streaks of brilliance which could have carried them all the way.

Me either. If was second to last, I wouldn't take the change that the other team would catch up. I would have done the same thing.

Yup, as sad as I was to see the cowboys in last, you'd be silly to not uturn a team you know is right behind you. The Globes could've gotten lost on the way to check in or something. You just never know.

At this point I'm good with any team winning except for the pinks. OMG, he is just such a whiney pain in the butt. The day my husband lets me pull his behind along in a wagon, well let's just say it'd be a long time before there was any  for him.

I think my fav now though is Zev and Justin. Another team who I think plays with class. Still mourning my cowboys this morning and holding out hope for another "twist" where one of the eliminated teams is allowed to compete to join the race again.

You know. I heard that part about the drafting ala Tour de France, but I wasn't watching. I was cleaning up the dinner dishes, so I didn't know if Gary just couldn't keep up with him since he was drafting. KWIM? Like I said, I wasn't watching it at that point -- just listening. You are right though. If they had steyed together, it would've probably turned out differently.

I also don't blame the GT for u-turning the cowboys. It is a race. If I were in that position, I would've done it, too -- no matter how much I may have liked them.

There were other teams still racing. If all the teams had checked in, then they probably wouldn't have made the cowboys do the uturn. But since at least one other team was still racing, the cowboys had a chance of finishing the uturn, passing the GT's and eliminating them.

I'm thinking that if Gary had shown up with Jett that the answer would not have been "leaked" and both would have had to have gone back to the start. All the teams knew that the Cowboys were a definate threat, even Zev/Justin and the sisters were talking about it on the train. Gary was just lucky that Jett "left" him behind.

I agree that Gary was lucky. I don't think that FT would have told him the answer with Jett there because of how strong the Cowboys can be. Gary ... he just doesn't look all that threatening ... of course, that just means that he and Mallory will sneak into the final 3 while everyone else plots against each other :rotfl:.

Yes, but Gary was also the only one out of the bunch that didn't get lost(or at least they didn't show him getting lost). He very well may have had the correct answer without the hint from FT.

Bummed to see the Cowboys go, they were are favorite team.

We're rooting for Zev & Justin now.

I hate it when the teams share answers, takes all the fun out of the challenge. I'd like to see them create a rule where they can't do that.

That's true but we'll never know. I'm just pretty sure that none of the other teams would have been willing to share with the Cowboys.

It's too bad the Cowboys are gone. They had such a great attitude, even at the end when they realized that they would be the last one's in. And their closing interview was the best. They are such a likeable pair.

The getting the answers and sharing it for those two teams for me just really felt like cheating to me. I am still a little steamed about the whole thing because both should have had to gone back if they couldn't get an answer. I think there should have been a penalty. I know they followed the letter of the rules but that was wrong. That is twice now the Globetrotters have not had to work through a task like everyone else (flags anyone) but that same task hurt the cowboys because they didn't get free answers. I am truly sad to see the Cowboys go........

I think Vyksin (what a name!, made up, of course) overheard the answer at the checkpoint. I don't think she found it on her own. She and Kent can go anytime now - please!

Sorry to see the Cowboys go, too. And I would have had to do the same thing as the GTs had done - U-Turning them. They didn't know how far behind the Cowboys were. Get lost in a town, and it can be all over for you!

And I hate when the teams share the answer, too. It's fine if you're really working together, but to just give the answer seems to defeat the purpose of the Race!

I think they should make a rule that you cannot share answers with other teams. It is so unfair. I happened to the cowboys in the beginning too when they were doing the flag challange and had to spell out things with the flags. One of the teams told about 4 other teams the answer.

It's one thing to work together to find a clue or work on a puzzle with another team and figure it out together, but I don't think it's right to flat out tell another team the answer. I think the team who tells another team an answer should get a penalty at the pit stop. That would put an end to it!

I agree. Not only is it unfair to the teams on the show, but for us viewers, it makes for pretty boring TV when half the teams don't even have to try.
