OFFICIAL - NON SPOILER Amazing Race: Unfinished Business Premieres 2/20/11

If you put a bunch of crazy rules in place, you take the excitement away. I hate the rule that requires each team member to do an equal number of road blocks. (or are those detours? LOL) I think each team should be free to handle them the way they see fit.

I thought it was an honest mistake on FT/BE's part, but I agree on them getting a penalty. It bumps them a couple spots in departure time, but they aren't at the back of the pack or anything. They seem like genuinely nice guys--look how earlier, they gave up the last spots on the airplane to Zev and ? because they said they owed them. That's good sportsmanship, even if it didn't work out.

I agree that FT and BE didn't mean to take the pack, but they should have put it back where they found it. The penalty was appropriate considering the time that R&C came it. Although I think Ron is a jerk, I can understand how upset they both would have been at the time, not knowing where the pack was, knowing they needed the documents in it to check in at the pit stop, and having no idea that it had been left with their clothes.

But dh and I laughed when the Globetrotters let Z&J take the last spots on the flight, then immediately said they didn't want to take that flight, anyway. :rotfl: If that's how they pay back Z&J for giving them an answer, so they don't have to decode it themselves, they got off very easy!

Honest mistake, yes--but in caring only about their time (understandably), they failed to realize how they impeded the time.

People get eliminated without their documents, so this was a very real concern when it was documented where they put their documents and went right to the very spot to retrieve them.

It has nothing to do with threat or no threat. AR does not penalize teams that pose a threat, they penalize teams who do not follow the rules. You cannot sabotage another team in that manner, intentionally or not, when it gives you a gain in advantage.

I am wondering why Phil didn't give the Globetrotters the penalty when they checked in? They only got the penalty when Christina told Phil what happened? Does that mean if she hadn't said anything they wouldn't have gotten the penalty? (or they just did it that way for dramatic effect or something?) :confused3 It's not like it wasn't caught on tape, lol!

We thought the same thing! Very smart! :)

I wondered about that too. Maybe it's because it was an honest mistake. Maybe it depends on whether or not the cameraman reported it in advance. Or we just didn't see them getting the penalty due to editing. It made more of an impact with us just seeing what we saw.

Probably the part where it was unintentional...and they likely had a chat with producers b/c there was a serious edit at that point. I would guess for drama--they made it the way it was shown. But I'm sure that the crew was alerted and for dramatic effect, Phil was simply asking why she was upset even though he may have already known.

(just a guess!)

Did anyone think the whole editing of the show just looked odd?
I have literally seen every episode since season 2 and this one just seemed hard to follow.
There is no way Phil should be surprised that FT & BE accidently took their bag. Camera person must have missed all of it.

I dont' have a favorite team either. But I would be happy to see some leave that is for sure.

Ron drives me nuts. :headache:

Oh, I agree. I was bummed that Jaime and Cara didn't finish last this week. Didn't like them the first time around definitely don't like them this time around. I can't believe she hit that guy and then was all upset when he wanted to call the cops instead of just exchange insurance info.

The editing is baffling me too.
Some teams look so far behind,
then they have them catching up real fast.
The girls admitted they were detained over 30 minutes and how did they not see the other team, that got eliminated freezing and going for medical help. They seemed so shocked, that they didn't get eliminated. They came to the pit stop and even said it themselves, and then Phil said, "nope, you are team number whatever".

anybody else bummed that they aren't doing Elimination Station this season?
Are they not? That's crappy! I've always looked forward to watching the videos, and was saving them until March break next week. Darn! (was there an explanation as to why not?)

I don't know what it is like in Ky but you wouldn't call the cops for that type of accident around here; exchange insurance info and numbers and be on your way. I think the guy was being an idiot.

We'd call the police so there would be a report on file. I don't know if it would really get us anywhere more than a report if the insurance information was false anyway, but if it was me, I'd have the police there.

If I were hit by somebody that doesn't speak the language, is being followed around by cameras, seems to be in a big hurry, I'd probably call the cops.

A few seasons ago, the couple who ultimately won - against Rob and what's-her-name - the wife did ONE roadblock and the husband did all the others. The next season, the rules were changed so the teams split the roadblocks more or less evenly. I say 'more or less' because, of course, the teams eliminated early could have had one person doing most/all the roadblocks with the intention of having the other teammate doing the ones at the end...only to find themselves not having to do ANY roadblocks after only a few short legs ;)

Phil knew that's why he asked, I think is just part of the editing.

Now they save their butts when they stop the bus for them, I bet Ron wouldn't done that for them.

I don't think the girls saw them in the medical van. :confused3 They said that one of them had Panda poo but panda's are from china not japan.

I think Mike and Mel were in the mod for too long so sad they're gone.

Rob and Amber? Their Season was won by Danielle and her (frat boy) boyfriend.
