With a 6:30 ADR you're probably not going to get out until 8:00. *My* ideal dinner time on party nights is 5:00-5:30 if I'm eating inside the park. This year I have LTT for 4:05, not ideal for me just because it's not really dinner time for us that early. We'll have to adjust our schedule that day to make it work. Since I called late and snagged a cancellation I'm happy just to have the ADR at all, so I'm willing to work around the early time. Some people really like the early dinners though.

we also have an adr at 4:05 for LTT.
it is worth it to eat early. You'll be the done before the party starts. 2 yrs ago we had a ADR for LTT at 4:30. we were seated in about 5 minutes. Before our food arrived, the place was packed. it was so much fun. almost everyone was in costumes. when we left the waiting area was packed. There is no way I would spend any part of the party waiting for a table.
we were done and we were able to walk on all the rides.
early is the way to go.

We have ADRs at Crystal Palace for the night of our MNSSHP at 6:00pm. I didn't want to eat dinner TOO early b/c we wanted to be able to go back to the room for a break in the late afternoon. How long will dinner at CP take? :confused3 Will it go a little quicker than LTT b/c its a buffet? I remember last time we waited awhile for all the characters to make it around, but if we missed one or two, think we could get done by 7 or 7:30?

I doubt there's any chance of changing our ADRs now. :sad2:

i have had dinner at cp on mnsshp nights before and can share what i experienced.

the time your adr is will be a busy time. it could take up to 20 minutes of waiting for your table. the wait for the table will depend on the size of table you need for your group. they won't sit 2 people at a table meant for 6. sometimes the wait is longer than expected.

even though it is a buffet, and it is self serve, the lines can be long at the serving counter. that counter area will never be empty.

if you are interested in seeing the characters in the cp, they do one section at a time. if they have already been to the area where you have been seated, it could take 30 minutes for their return to your area.

mnsshp is a busy time at the cp.
the food is well worth it there. it is one of my favorite places for dinner.

why don't you call frequently and see if you can catch a cancellation for an earlier time?

last year there was a thread on the dis where people posted what adrs they were cancelling and others posted what they needed.

maybe you could start a thread like that
i listed adr that i was going to cancel and coordinated it with another diser.

Normally, I'd say character meals take around 1 hour but since it's a busy night, it could take longer in that you might be seated late or the buffet might have longer lines.

I would arrive at least 20 minutes early and hope to be seated on time. I think you should be done between 7:00p and 7:30p.

I wouldnt' cancel. I'd go and hope for the best! :goodvibes

Enjoy!

I agree, with a 6:00 CP ADR on party night you should be out between 7:00 and 7:30. While that may not be ideal it's not too bad either. I wouldn't want an ADR any later than 6:00 though, that's my cut off point. ;)

Just Purchased My Tickets for Sept 28....My 35th Birthday, what a day to Celebrate Cant wait to go......I am all booked and know all I have to do is wait patiently till it arrives, YEAH RIGHT!!! I am busting at the seams with excitement........My 3 year old keeps asking me, Are we leaving know,lol.....Poor thing......we are both in the same boat......

49 more days........:cloud9:

Does anyone know what happens if you have reservations for a restaurant in MK before 7:00, but you only have MNSSHP tickets, not regular park tickets for that day? I know last year they let people in around 4, but if they don't, I guess you'd miss your dinner res?

We have a 6:20PM Ressie at Ohana's for Oct. 4, my thoughts are get there around 6:00 should be seated before 6:20, and eating should not take more then an hour for 2 adults, we're staying at the Poly anyway. Especially since it's a family style dinning and the food should be ready to serve basically. We are going to the party on 2 different nights so a little late on this night is no big deal.

I'm actually considering the same thing pretty much. We were planning on the 9/30 party. I'm still tossing around the idea of doing 9/28 also. We had 'Ohana at 5:40 that night. I normally wouldn't want to go to the party at 7:00 or 7:30, but since it would only be our first of two... well, no big deal if we miss out on an hour prior and even half an hour of the actual party. If we were only doing one I wouldn't want to miss anything.

We're going to our first MNSSHP on Sept 14. I'm so excited!

Anyway, I'm wondering what "land" is a good place to head to first when the party starts. Do you guys follow a rough iteniarary, or just wing it at the party?

We're not planning on doing any rides at the party (we'll be going on our 6th Wdw day and will already have spent lots of time at MK, so by the time the party rolls around we'll have ridden all the rides). Instead, we hope to meet the rare characters, do some trick or treating, go to the dance parties, and attend the 10:30 parade if my kids can last that long! My rough iteniarary at this point is to be at MK by 5:00, eat dinner at a CS location, and then do a few rides before the party starts. Once it starts, I can't decide where to go first--any ideas??? Is there one area that gets crowded fast, and that we should do first? I was thinking maybe starting at Adventureland, just because I'm sure everyone else heads to Toontown or Fantasyland. But will that mean then that it will be mobbed when we finally make our way over there?

Okay, I have a few more questions about the party I hope someone can answer!

1) I've read that party-goers can use the stroller rentals for FREE during the party. Is this true? If so, can I get one at 4 or 5 (providing I already have my wristband on), or do I have to wait until the party starts?

2) Where do you get the wristbands and treat bags at? Can we get them as early as 4 pm?

3) In previous years, has Ariel been at Ariel's Dance Party? It seems like she would be given it's at "her" grotto, but I thought I read somewhere that she's not present.

4) How early to stake out a front row seat for the 10:30 parade?? Would 10:00 work, or should we plan on even earlier? We'll probably sit somewhere in Frontierland, since I've heard that area fills up last for parade viewing.

5) Do they still have the Haunted Riverboat? I've heard that maybe they didn't have it last year?

Thanks!

1. I believe I did get a free stroller at around 5:00p not sure if they do it any earlier. You do have to show your wristband though.

2. You get the wristband/bag, upon entering the park (going thru the turnstyle) after 4:00p. If you are in the park before 4:00p and want to get your wristband, there will also be CMs around the park to exchange your tickets for wristbands but they don't come out till closer to the party.

3. I have not heard of Ariel being anywhere for the party. The grotto is closed.

4. Frontierland fills up slower than Main Street. Half an hour should be good.

5. Don't know about this question.

I can answer some of your questions :)

We received our wristbands and treat bags in front of the MK entrance. There was a separate line for MNSSHP to get into the park. I don't remember how early we did this, I think it was around 5ish

We got our spot for the second parade about 1/2 an hour before it started. We sat in front of the Christmas shop. it wasn't too crowded.

There wasn't a haunted Riverboat last year, at least not on the night we went :( . The Riverboat landing was one of the candy spots last year.

This thread has been so helpful to me. We are going to MNSSHP on Oct. 28 and it will be our first time at the party. We have a ADR at Tony's for 5:30, I can't wait. Now I find myself stressing about costumes!

Hey Three Cabs! We'll be there right at the same time as you too! This will be our first time there ever together and will be both of our first times ever attending a MNSSHP (on the 28th - it'll be our first night at Disney). And it's so funny, we'll be at Tony's for our 5:15 ADR, so we'll see you there too! How cool!! :rotfl:

We are going on our last day. We are going to sleep in, hit the park around 4, party all night and check out the next day. I would say it depends on when you are scheduled to leave. You DO NOT want to get up early after a Halloween Party night.

I would say it all depends on the time of your departure flight. The MNSSHP goes on until midnight. So, if you have an early flight, you might want to do the party on your first night there. If you have a later flight, I'd save the party for your "Grand Finale" to a WDW vacation!

Thank you! I will do it the 21st since I am really only checking into a condo the next day. I really hope it's worth the 200 bucks :)
