We're going Oct 23!

This is not only our first MNSSHP, but first extended trip to Disney since I was 5. We've done a day trip to MGM & Epcot every few years when in Fl for spring training, so this is my first time at MK (that I can remember anyway!) So, I really hope on the non party days they show Wishes.

I'm sure there will be lots of reports from those attending in Sept before we go, right? :)

We are going for the first time on November 2. We are arriving in Orlando that afternoon for our almost-annual visit to the F&WF, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that there was a date that would work for our trip. Got a DVC discount as well. Really looking forward to it!

Would you go to mnsshp the first day you get there or the last day before having to leave?
We will get to WDW Sept 14 and leave 22.
Thanks:)

if for some reason you can't go the party, are the tickets refundable?

In general, no. They will sometimes make an exception -- for illness or a serviceman/woman being called to duty, for example. I would not purchase the tickets until you're certain you're going.

What time do you normally book dinner the night of a Hallween party?

I have LTT booked at 6:30 during a Halloween party night (10/30). The CM said to get there a little early and told me there may be a wait. Do you think that 6:30 is too late. I don't want to be sitting in a restaurant during MNSSHP. I'd hate to be walking out of LTT at 8PM.

I really was leaning towards booking Kona at 4PM. The 4PM dinner was to make sure we have plenty of time for the Halloween party, The CM suggested LTT, I've never eaten there. I'm not crazy about the menu.

I would say it all depends on the time of your departure flight. The MNSSHP goes on until midnight. So, if you have an early flight, you might want to do the party on your first night there. If you have a later flight, I'd save the party for your "Grand Finale" to a WDW vacation!

The CM suggested LTT, b/c the characters dress in costume. However, I would personally go for something a little earlier. The first Villain Mix & Mingle is at 7:45, and Boo to You Parade is at 8:15. I would hate to see you miss out, especially if you have small children that will need to leave the park before the later shows & parade. My ADR for the night of MNSSHP is at 5:20, but we'll be there a little early. So, we will hopefully be done by 7pm (start of the party).

Hope this helps! :wizard:

With a 6:30 ADR you're probably not going to get out until 8:00. *My* ideal dinner time on party nights is 5:00-5:30 if I'm eating inside the park. This year I have LTT for 4:05, not ideal for me just because it's not really dinner time for us that early. We'll have to adjust our schedule that day to make it work. Since I called late and snagged a cancellation I'm happy just to have the ADR at all, so I'm willing to work around the early time. Some people really like the early dinners though.

I've seen it mentioned in this thread that you are given a bag for treats when you enter the park for the party. Do they also give you a schedule of events?

you get a mnsshp guide . it is similar to the day guide booklets you get in the parks.

it will have the parade route, times of all events and locations for them, trick and treat stations.

and it has the needed info for the evening.

usually people that go at the beginning of the event tend to post the guide on the dis so others can see it in advance

When do the lines close for photo-ops like the Haunted Mansion? From what I've read, they're REALLY crowded early on, but not so much later. I was thinking about doing the HM photo during the last hour or so of the party. Will they still be doing it then?

We wil be going to the MNSSHP on our first "full" day at WDW. We will be checking in on Sunday 10/7 but are not hitting any parks until the next day. "We" being myself, DH and DD6 and DD4. My plan is for us to hit the MK on Monday, head back (either before the 3:00 parade or just after it) to the hotel for a brief rest and to let the girls change into their Halloween costumes... then be back at the MK by the time the party starts @ 7:00.

We are going on our last day. We are going to sleep in, hit the park around 4, party all night and check out the next day. I would say it depends on when you are scheduled to leave. You DO NOT want to get up early after a Halloween Party night.

I aksed this yesterday and somone gave me the WDWinfo.com description. The only problem is I am not sure it is 2007 dates since some of them are dates when 2007 MNSSHP is not even happening. Any info would be great for this year's dates. Thanks in advance.

Our first trip with kids we made plans the first night we were there. DD was crabby and didn't want to do anything. I had these great plans and she was not agreeable. Made for a very long night. I learned that I can't expect her to sleep on the plane and be ready to go when we arrive. So, I no longer plan anything to do that first day. Last time we were in the parks until midnight and the girls were great. But, you never know.

To answer your question, I'd plan the day before you go.

We are flying from CA and arriving at MCO at 5:30pm on the 20th. We are getting the rental car and getting food on the way to the hotel. We are pretty much checking in and sleeping.

The following day the 21st is our MNSSHP. So we are going to have an easy day...swimming maybe, photographing, downtown Disney, eat dinner early then head to the park for the event. We want to keep the day easy till the event.

The next day we fly home at 7:00pm. So whatever we did not get done on the 21st we will do the 22nd before we leave.

I would think doing the event the last day before you leave would be best. Then you are all in routine and comfortable. Good luck whatever you decide!
