Hello all,
First, let me say infinite thanks for all the information you all have posted! I had to join when I saw all the information and you all have been great about answering my questions!

So, with that in mind...

My wife and I are taking my family who has never been before (o'hana all the way!) whioch includes my sister (21) and both my parents, who never got to go. what makes it cool is that we are going on Sept 21st, which is my mother's birthday and also happens to be a week before their anniversary (yep, this was their surprise). I wanted to see, as we will not have any significantly young folks with us, what we should rush to do.

My wife and I always pick up a pin or two apiece to commemorate the trips. Are there unique halloween themed ones? If so, is this something we should "rush" to get when MNSSHP begins or are they plentiful?

Anything you would recommend I make sure my parents do as this is their first trip (and may be their last before they are grandparents)?

I have been a few times and took my wife for her first time for her birthday last year, so we are late bloomers in some ways, so I wanted to see what you all would recommend for my parents....

I'm excited about getting to take my mother to Cinderella's castle for the first time on her birthday. I probably qualify as a weird son for being so excited about it, but... ah well.

Anyway, just thought I would see what you all would recommend for some first timers like my parents who are in their 50's. I figure its Disney... I'm a huge kid when I'm there, so I know of a few things... but I figured you all had so much information, I'd get some suggestions as this will not only be my parents and sister's first MNSSHP, but also their first trip, period!

So excited. Sorry I keep rambling... can't wait for September to get here...

Thanks,
James.

is there anywhere that you can get discounted tickets??? I have never been and just wondering! Thanks in advance@

Some of the parties offer an advance purchase discount. DVC members and AP holders can also get discounts on certain party dates. You just order these through Disney. I don't think you can get tickets anywhere else but through Disney.

how can you tell what parties offer the advance purchase discounts?

James: How wonderful that you want to make this trip so special for your family! We understand and share your excitement!! :yay:

There is a pin specific to each MNSSHP and while there is enough supply, the line to purchase can get very long. If you can make the purchase at the beginning of the party, I would. The pin is sold at one of the shops on Main Street - a CM can tell you where. (In fact, don't hesitate to ask CMs for any advice or info -- they can give you the best tips for enjoying the parks, the party, best parade & fireworks viewing areas, etc.!)

As far as things your parents, sister, wife and yourself will enjoy at the party -- the Villains show in front of Cinderella's castle (and meet & greet after the show!); the dance party; trick-or-treating; the Haunted Mansion; the parade; the (special) fireworks.

I'm sending you a PM about your parent's first trip! :woohoo:

Happy Planning!

WOO HOO! It's official! The tickets have arrived!!!!:tigger:
We are going to be there October 4.
Even though I have ADRs and confirmation numbers, these tickets are the FIRST REAL sign that we are actually coming to see the CASTLE!!!!! (and lots of other stuff too, thanks to this board!)
I'll say it again...... HOO HOO HOOHOO HOO HOOOOOOO!!! :tigger: :tigger:

Where is everyone eating dinner before the party????
Is it worth it? I haven't had a TS meal at WDW in years!!! I want to try it again but it is so expensive.

Hopefully we'll get in to make our ADR at 4:50 at Liberty Tree Tavern for MNSSHP on Sept. 21!!! I can't wait, it'll be our 3rd time to go to the Halloween Party! :woohoo: I'm just worried they will not let us in early from what I've been reading on some threads. We'll just have to wait and see I guess!

Most sit down restaurants at MK and near MK are already booked solid on party nights so you'd need to decide like yesterday.

I prefer eating before the party, around 5:00p in MK so that I'm done just before the party officially begins.

We'll be eating at Liberty Tree Tavern on Oct 31st before MNSSHP and then grabbing counter service food before the party on Nov. 2nd. Pretty much all the TS restaurant ressies fill up almost immediately when MNSSHP tickets go on sale.

But, just the other day, I got a 4:25 LTT for 3 on Oct. 14 (Sunday) - I had a 6:20 but called back, and there it was. So, keep checking, as plans do change.

Looks like MK closes at 7 on October 8th and the party starts at 7. I guess we'll go in early around 6 and eat at Columbia Harbour House... Think it will be open then? It is not one of the restaurants listed for the party, but if we eat beforehand??? :confused3

Be careful, we tried this last year and they closed really early.

We are planning on a late lunch at Crystal Palace. Then we can go back to the hotel and get ready. We may need a snack later but that's ok :goodvibes

Columbia Harbour closes early, I think before 5:00. We had Liberty Tree at 6:20 on 9/30, the best I could get when I made my ADRs but too late for a party night. I called back today and changed it to 4:05, on the early side, but better than too late. :)

Rats! Well, do you think Cosmic Ray's will still be open since it is a restaurant listed on the party night? Maybe we'll do that at 6, then be done before the party starts at 7???

(We have already used up our TS DDP credits for other days.)

Thanks, I appreciate the help!

Yes, I'm pretty sure Cosmic Ray's stays open. I think Pecos Bill's will stay open as well.

Wow Lots and lots of people going to MNSSHP, It looks like we will be going on Sept. 14, I hope the fact that in years past they let you in at 4:00PM is true this year, and unfortunately, this is the first party so we will have know way to know untill we get to the gates. I have a ADR for 4:20 at LTT and would truly enjoy eating our last TS of our trip at MNSSHP LTT. Look forward to reading more about the Party as this is our First.

45 DAYS to GO!!! WOOT WOOT!:dance3: :dance3:
