We will also be there OCt 20-28th!

I can't believe we still have to wait 6 more months!

Happy planning!

Add us to the list of those who will be there the 21st through the 27th.

We went to MNSSHP last year on the Friday night before Halloween and it was SOOOOO crowded. It was actually sold out on that night if I remember correctly. It was not nearly as good as an experience as we had when we went on the Tuesday night prior. There were places in the park where we literally could not walk because there were so many people.

Okay, I just posted this in a separate thread, but I not getting any responses, so I thought I would look for help in the Official thread!

Can my DH wear a full face mask to MNSSHP? He wants to wear a Spiderman costume, complete with the full face mask. This isn't scary, so will it be allowed? I can't seem to find a specific rule about masks. Can someone who has been to the Halloween party before tell me if it is allowed, and if they have seen anyone wearing a non-scary full face mask before?

Thanks in advance, I really, really appreciate it!!!!

I've read on different threads that full face masks aren't allowed. Don't quote me, though, b/c I haven't been to MNSSHP yet (this will be our first!)
Somebody else know for sure?

I did just find this on mouseplanet.com

You are encouraged to wear costumes but remember that safety comes first, so be sure that if your children are wearing costumes that they are comfortable. You are, however, asked not to wear masks. It's dark and the little goblins need to be able to see where they are going. Also, there needs to be a distinction between guests and those Disney employees who are working the party.

I would say no to the mask even though it's not scary. I'm sure we'll find out more as we get closer though...

and then I just found this on explorethemagic.com

COSTUMES
. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes to enhance the event feel
. Costumes should be child-friendly and not obtrusive or offensive
. Adult Guests may wear masks, but masks must not obstruct vision
. Guests that "look like" our Disney characters should will be politely informed that they may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests

While we were there last year, a man wearing a "Scream" mask was asked to wear it backwards and have his face exposed.

Another option is face paint. In Mickey's toon town they do free face painting (or they have in the past) at MNSSHP. I'm not sure if they'd do a non-Disney character, like Spiderman. But they may be able to do something similar or you can do it yourself at home. That way you won't end up carrying the mask when he gets too sweaty.

I actually don't think I remember seeing anyone wearing a full mask last year to be honest. With the children it's not about the costume being scary, more that they want them to have full vision including peripheral. It becomes more of a safety factor, especially in the dark. I guess it would also be harder to get kids mixed up if they were wearing masks. I'm sure sometime between now and halloween you can find a compromise. Maybe a spiderman cap? Or face paint like another poster suggested?

We will be at WDW from Oct 29-Nov 7 and are looking to go to the party on Oct 31st; it's our first MNSSHP and my birthday!! I'm so excited, I can barely contain myself! I'm actually wondering if we should go the 30th AND 31st!

With free dining being offered, DH suggested (which is strange in itself) WE ADD ON 5 MORE NIGHTS!!!! so WE'LL BE AT MNSSHP ON THE 28th!! It's our first time, I'm so excited!

DH is going to be a Pirate
DD is going to be a cat
DS ???
Me- I'm going to be a fairy!!!

I just got off the phone with Disney Dining to make a separate ADR, and the lady brought up MNSSHP. She said tickets weren't going on sale until June! :faint: We plan on going 9/21 - our first one!!

I don't know why it is so late this year. I wonder what Disney is waiting for. The October hours are posted (I know subject to change) but would it be that radical of change? I have all of my ADR's based on the EMH/MNSSHP theory.

Maybe Disney wants to sell the P&PP tickets first, since those parties are in August. :confused3

June would seem early to most people, but it really isn't, right?! I mean, with DVC you need to book 7mos in advance outside your home resort (to be as sure as possible that you can get what you want), ADR's are made 180 days out. When you consider that, I think they should at least release dates, if not sell tickets, at the 7 month window for planning purposes. Are you guys with me?!? :thumbsup2 :)

Absolutely!!!!! If anything changes from Disney's end, it could throw off my whole master plan!! I am juggling the Magical Beginnings stuff along with MNSSHP!!!!!! Must have information!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I know mid-September is a slower time of year, but for those of you who attended the 1st night of MNSSHP last year, how were the crowds? Is everything up and running, or are there some 1st night glitches that you noticed?

In the past we've gone around the 6th or 7th of October, but we are thinking of going a few weeks earlier this year, so we're looking at either attending the 1st or 2nd night of the party.

It was great and empty!! There weren't any glitches, everything was great!

I know!! I'm trying to work in Magical Beginnings (Little Ones EMH, Playhouse Disney in concert), MNSSHP and Food & Wine!! Geez!! All that, and we have friends joining us for part of the trip. Lots to coordinate - I need some dates, Disney!!! :rotfl:

I am trying to plan all the ADR's and make sure we have 3 MNSSHP dates during our travel time. I have done all my planning looking at the October MK hours and 'judging' when the parties are. If I'm off by much, it will throw off all the planning and I'll have to start from scratch.

IMHO, P&P tickets should have gone on sale February.... then again I have no idea when P&P for August was announced. But when all is said and done, I just wanth the to be going on sale earlier so I can be done.

If nothing else, it would reduce my Disney Travel stress level.

:goodvibes

Patience is not my strong point....Waiting and waiting for those dates to be released.
I am going to make my ADR on May 1st so let's hooe they come out by then...

Bonnie:wizard:
May trip can't come soon enough!!

I made my ADR's this morning for our trip in October. I was talking to the CM and told her my frustration in the dates not being released yet and that I was having to guess so I could get to LTT on teh right day. She asked me if I had looked at the calendar and the closing days for MK. I said yes and that is how I thought I figured out the right day. She said well you guessed right. She had a list of dates but couldn't tell me them all she was just able to confirm that I made my LTT reservation on teh correct day that I was hoping was an MNSSHP.

We are going with my parents (in their 60's) and planning to go to MNSSHP on Oct 16. We're actually not going to make an ADR for that day, going to go to F&W all day and snack, then grab a hot dog at Casey's before the party starts. Does that sound like a bad plan? I would think there is enough to choose at F&W to keep us going all day......and then we can snack on candy through the evening!!

I called and spoke to a CM this morning about our upcoming trip, so I bring up the MNSSHP tickets this is exactly what I was told....
......a memo just came out this morning stating that the tickets would not go on sale until the middle of May.............

She did elude to the fact that if I looked on the park calendar closing times I could probably figure out for myself which days they are having the party. I'm just ready to buy my ticket!! I feel that if the ticket is paid for then I know it is for real and I am going!!!! Doing my happy Mickey dance at my computer (my children giggle at this).
