Official MNSSHP [Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party] 2007...

We are planning a trip in early to mid September. Does anyone know how MNSSHP affects attendance during the parks in the day?

We will be there Sept 21. It is also dh 50th birthday.

Definitely get your tickets in advance...

We went October 19th - 26th 2006 and booked through AAA. The travel agent there didnt even mention the halloween party and it was our first time since '99 so we had no clue. We hadn't budgeted in ticket costs and were extremely disapointed to discover what we had missed out on once we got there.
Most nights its the only way to see the fireworks @ MK- there was only one night we got to see them the whole time we were there (GREAT show though!!)

From what we saw, it is an event not to be missed if you're going around that time- even if you dont have little ones!

We noticed nothing out of the ordinary during the day- lines were surprisingly fast... even without FPs.
To be honest, the worst crowds were the days the party wasn't going on...

I will be there on 10/5 with a good friend- this is her first trip to WDW I think we are going as Laverne and Shirley. I went with DD14 this past Oct. , and we dressed as Jane and Judy Jetson-we had so much fun!!!

We'll be arriving on the 27th of Oct, so our dates would have to be either the 29th, 30th, or 31st. I believe I'll have to get all our tix as SOON as they become available. This will be our first one, and we're all looking forward to it!

does anyone know what characters typically appear at the party?

my friend and i are going to disneyworld for the first time (i've been to disneyland TONS but my first trip to the word) in sept and we have decided to plan our trip around the sept 14th party so that we can attend.

Which characters are generally there every year, expected to be there this year and any ideas or tips for costumes?

We are going September 28th and can't wait!!!! We are dressing up as Alice in Wonderland characters. DD4 is going to be Alice, DS1 Mad Hatter, me Queen of Hearts, DH Tweedledum, DHFIL Tweedledee, DHMIL White Rabbit. I am so excited!!!!

As for some of the villians, watch the Villians Mix and Mingle Show, and stick around after wards, they come down so that you are able to take a picture with them. Cast includes, Captain Hook, Cruella, Queen of Hearts, Maleficent
Frollo, Jafar. I think that was it...

Actually, last year was the first time they had 3 parties in September...they added Sept 15 and Sept 22 which is the earliest ever. They also change from Sunday night parties to Monday night parties.

But before that yes, they were basically the same nights. Sun (now Mon), Tues, Thurs & Fri.

Having said all that, I believe these dates circulating are from an 'inside source", although they are still unofficial till Disney actually releases the information themselves. So they could change but hopefully they will not.

Last time Dh and I went, we received two free pics (sent to us through the mail after we returned home)...I saw in an earlier post a mention of 50% off photopass-do they not include a free pic in the admission any longer? BTW, this was in 2004--TIA!

They discontinued the free photo last year.

No more free pics, but they do offer 50% off pics of the pictures that are taken that night. Its a separate photopass card than the normal one. The main pictures to get that night, is in front of cinderellas coach, which i if i remember right is by IASW, and then in front of the HM by the doombuggy, (they insert a ghost driver!).

This will be our 1st time @ MNSSHP. We are going Oct. 1st. We are AP holders. Do we need to buy our ticket ahead of time or buy them @ the parks?

Yes, they did add some great Photopass photo ops but be foreward, many have VERY long lines. The Cinderella coach line was always very long so we didn't do it. The doombuggy, thankfully, wasn't long at all for us when we did it right around 7:00p. The character's lines were also very long. We waited for two of them; Pooh in his costume and Minnie in the back of her house and they took FOREVER, especially Minnie! My girls weren't too happy but the photos were so darn cute!
